I wanted to like this place so badly based off of the reviews and there being limited pho restaurants around. The owner is very friendly but the Pho is unfortunately the worst I've ever had (I've had pho more times than I count across more than 7 different states) and our experience, aside from our interaction with the owner, was subpar. To start, the restaurant itself is very hot, no AC, just fans. The walls and tables were dirty and greasy. Looks like a hole in the wall place, which gave me hope that the pho would taste authentic but I was severely mistaken. Also, because of the no AC they had the doors open which led to flies landing on our food and water as well as being splashed by the pouring rain coming into the restaurant. Our waitress did not pay much attention to us and when asking her the difference between some of the pho options she said "I don't know because there's nothing on the menu that I like" LOL she also complained that the owner was "cheap" when explaining that they don't have an ice machine and she would have to crush up ice in a towel using a hammer. Anyway, my husband and I were willing to overlook all of this if the Pho was worth it. We both got the Pho Bo (beef noodle soup) and he got his spicy. If you've never had authentic pho, you might like it. However, if you've have good Pho before, you will most likely not enjoy this. It was the blandest greasiest broth I had ever had. It didn't even taste like pho. At all the pho restaurants I've ever been to, they provide extra garnishes like lime, jalapeño, bean sprouts etc. We did not get anything other than the limes I asked for my water because they didn't have lemon. They didn't even give us spoons for the broth, I had to ask for them. Both my husband and I ate less than half of our small bowls before we decided to just leave. According to reviews I had good expectations. I've had some of the best Pho on the West coast and was craving it. Went to this place and was severely disappointed. The Pho itself was made with subpar, greasy broth. But... the main issue was the meat. Traditional Pho Taí , or Pho Bo is made with thin strips of rare brisket. I was served a bowl with brown brisket which had a rainbow glaze all over the meat. The meat tasted off. In all my years of eating Pho I have never been served meat with a green rainbow glaze. The meat looked bad. At payment, i showed the owner the meat and informed him i could not eat bad meat. He proceeded to get angry and show me his meat from the back. It was a piece of dried brisket which was brown and aged. It was no wonder it developed a rainbow glaze. This was nowhere near fresh rare brisket. This spot is THE REAL deal. My first two visits were egg rolls and spring rolls and a beef dish because they were sold out of everything else. I finally called early enough on trip 3 (all within 2 weeks) to order the pork chop. I have come back multiple times just for the egg roll. My daughter and I came here for the first time. The place was small we went it was 85 deg so I didn't think it would busy. There were one large party and that was it. I ordered the pho and asked about the vegetables that come with it and the lady did not speak much English, so I just accepted it for what it was. Then my pho came, and it had no vegetables with it. No Thai basil, no bean sprouts, no jalapeño slices, no lime, nothing. I found the gentleman behind the counter and asked him the same and he acted like vegetables on top of pho was not a thing. I asked again about the vegetable plate, I got a shrug from him. Long story short, you don't get vegetables with your pho here. That's enough reason for me not to come back, unfortunately.
