In the Cherry Hill area and felt like having some congee. Found this place on Yelp and I was glad we did. This little restaurant is nice, clean, simple, and pleasantly decorated. Ordered a Fish Fillet Congee, Beef Chow Fun, and Steamed Chinese Greens with Oyster Sauce. The best one was the congee. And it was a pleasant surprise that it came with some Chinese bread sticks that were fresh and warm. The Beef Chow Fun was decent. The Chinese Greens were so so. People in the next table ordered Noodle Soup with Roast Duck and it looked really good. Service was very good. Their staff checked on us a couple of times to make sure everything was okay. We were brought extra napkins, and food came out very quickly. All in all it was a pretty good lunch; and my craving for congee was fully satisfied. read more

Didn't really like the food in general. The crispy noodle itself is good, but there is too much sauce and it's too salty. It's supposed to be satay sauce but doesn't taste like what you would expect for satay sauce. Lots of rice in the duck over rice. The duck is meh, I have had better. After reading the reviews, I've been wanting to give this place a try. We got here right before the lunch crowd and were immediately seated. The restaurant is small and cozy, with beige wallpaper depicting long trees and one long continuous booth on one side with Chinese characters on it. Regular tables also adorn the center of the restaurant as well as the window and Chinese statues can be seen near the back too. An adorable Lucky Cat decoration hangs on the front window and pictures hang on some of the walls too. We ordered the following: Stuffed eggplant, which has shrimp and pork) in black bean sauce- We thought this entree was awesome. Black bean sauce was a nice touch. Hubs thought the sauce could've been served separately and that there wasn't any need to drown the eggplant. It was nice on its own. Happy family tofu- this came out a little watery and too much gravy. We liked the combination of food that went in there, but it was watery. Roasted duck egg noodle special with vegetables- this was delicious. I wish that they put the duck on a separate plate so it won't be soppy. Sautéed five spice press tofu with chive blossoms. This was such a simple dish. It's delicious and it reminded hubs that he can also get seasoned pressed tofu and use it as a meat substitute. Place had a steady flow of customers coming in and going out. Service was quick and friendly. The place was very clean and we would definitely return to try other items on the menu. read more

While in the Collingswood area, we were thrilled to see that sang Kee noodle café was located nearby in Cherry Hill. My wife and I met usually make a day of it, and we head out to the same key in Ardmore and always love it. This one is definitely a smaller version smaller menu, but regardless a really good place to come . On this trip, we started off with are always go to steaming, juicy buns, or others may know them as the soup dumplings , you must have they are to die for the patient. It takes a while for them to make them. Next, we shared an order of the peeking duck a half order, I'm not a duck fan and I was just reminded why it tastes gamy taste fatty. It was dry. It was kind of on the cold side. Basically I am not a fan. The bok choy with tofu and mushrooms on the other hand, is a go to signature dish . Because I didn't enjoy the duck we ordered one more item the shrimp dumplings , very nice delicate skin, sweet, tasting good way to wrap up our meal. The reason for a four and not a five star is because there was a screwup with the placement of order that brought it out in piecemeal totally backwards, which really impacted our wanting to go out and enjoying a slow evening dinner rather than cooking at home, but will try it again another time we're down that way. Not remotely similar in quality to SangKee Chinatown. It used to be about 70% comparable, but after COVID, it changed owner and management. The food honestly taste worse than those Chinese takeout restaurants, and is marked up twice as expensive. The service is superrrrr nice though, restaurant is clean, in good location, ample parking. But the main player has go to be the FOOD !! I'm sad that, despite the backing of the SangKee brand, the food is not good. Their main dish which is Roast duck wonton noodle soup - is reduced in quality. The wonton isn't filled with shrimp as much like Chinatown location, it's mostly flour in texture and taste at Cherryhill. This is as of 8/2025. I will update if I see improvements. read more

I loved sang kee under the original ownership. It was sold a few years ago and with it went our go to place. The food doesn't taste the same. Gave another go the other day. Chicken pieces so big I had to cut them with my fork before I could use my chopsticks. No one came by to see if everything was okay or did we need a refill of drink. Asked for water without ice and I would guess they gave us water from the hot tap. A large group came in and all 12 squeezed into a table for 8. Took about twenty minutes for the staff to bring over another table. The place was pretty empty when we got there and it was a Friday evening. That should have been my first clue something is very off. The vegetable spring rolls were tasteless. What has happened here? Too much sauce, one small bowl of rice for two people. We've gotten takeout here once and it tasted alright ( after the sale of the former Thai owners). So had a craving and decided to dine in the patio area- the pad Thai was underwhelming- it was mushy and over drenched in a reddish sauce that altered a traditional pad Thai taste. The noodles stuck together- frankly I could make it better off a google recipe. At $17 for noodles I'd hope they're outstanding. Id rate the flavor as $6 pad Thai. The fried rice was okay, but overall, the flavors are below average. Also got an entree and it was okay but average. Will have to find a better spot with authentic full Thai flavors. Went out of my way to eat here based on reviews. I was disappointed with the quality of the food. Started of with a cup of wonton soup for $5.95. The wontons were tasty (first time I have wontons that had some shiitake mushrooms). However there was nothing else in the broth except a few bits of green onion. I expected a bit of slice char siu meat and a bit of some bok choy or other veggie. For an entree I got Singapore rice noodle. It was bitter tasty, with old tiny slices of char siu a few jumbo prawns and very little vegetable or bean sprouts. I complained and they remade giving me thicker pieces of pork. It was slightly better but the pork just was not very good and still minimal vegetables/sprouts. I'd never order it again. The meal was expensive for the quality. The restaurant manager said my order had been picked up, The problem was it had not been picked up by us. He said he would have to review the store camera footage. He said it was nothing else he could do. Clearly a ridiculous answer. Although it was a pickup order it had been ordered through DoorDash. I was instructed to call DoorDash there was "nothing" they could do. This is a noodle restaurant. To replace the order might have costed them $2-3.00 for a $35.00 order. They have now lost a customer, very foolish. They did finally bother to check their counter and although the order was marked completed in their system it was really still sitting there. DoorDash said I needed to pick it up and make a claim if it was cold. This was the solution 2hours after the completion time. Both the restaurant and DoorDash were horrible. read more

We came here for diner on Saturday around 5pm. The place is located in a little strip mall. It filled up rather quickly and we were glad we came a few minutes before 5pm. Upon being seated, we were greeted by a server who delivered us a complimentary pot of hot tea and menus. My daughter ordered the shrimp fried rice and I ordered the pork with udon noodles. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. I can't speak to ambiance as it was still takeout only when we went, but the pick up was fast and efficient. My in-laws have Peking duck for Christmas Eve dinner every year, and (I hear) the duck was delicious. I appreciate a restaurant that has both meat and vegetarian dishes that are done well, and Sand Kee does that. The vegetarian general Tao's was delicious, and made with mock meat - a nice change of pace from tofu dishes. The garlic eggplant and garlic string beans were both wonderful. Total Ripoff I was in the area yesterday and wanted to get some Chinese take out. Went to yelp, and saw this place was rated pretty well- 4 stars. I ordered House Special Pan Fried Noodles. I thought the price- $20 and change with tax- was high for a noodle dish. I go to Chinatown in Philly all the time, and it's nowhere near as expensive there. When I got it home, I thought it was very skimpy for $20. There was more sauce than meat and vegetables. Even if it had more vegetables than meat, I wouldn't have been so disappointed. Just a very poor value. They made a nice profit margin from that, because there couldn't have been $4 worth of ingredients in it. They got me once, but never again. read more

I decided to try this place after my coworkers recommendation. This little spot is tucked away on Route 41, just past the Sunoco on the corner of Route 73 and Route 41 intersection. Parking can be tight depending on the time you arrive to dine. The parking lot is shared by numerous businesses. The restaurant is small, clean and comfortable. Definitely a cafe. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a pot of hot green tea waiting at our table. Nice touch. The menu is pretty extensive, lots of options. The cuisine is Cantonese. I had the Pan Seared Chicken Dumplings, my wife had the Chicken Spring Roll and the Scallop Pancakes for our appetizers. We liked our appetizers. The portions are big enough to share. If you choose too. The main course, we both had the House Special Fried Rice. (Chicken, Shrimp and Pork). The dish was pretty good. No complaints. My wife and I had our Cantonese food craving satisfied! My only complaint, the House made sweet tea, tasted like it was a store bought powdered mixture. I would suggest just calling it Sweer Tea. Sang Kee is just different, man. Compared to most Chinese take-out, the food presents and tastes much cleaner. It's admittedly hard to describe, but it just looks and feels like a level up from the rest. Here are my go-to's at Sang Kee: 1) Fried Rice (w/ shrimp or chicken) Really? Really. Stay with me here. Remember when I said "clean"? That is especially true for Sang Kee's fried rice. Right away, you'll notice that the rice is not yellow; it's barely brown. You may also notice that the bean sprout as an unfamiliar element, but it just adds to the "cleanness" yet doesn't feel out of place. You can actually taste the "fried" just enough while still tasting the natural flavors of each element within each bite. It'll truly set the bar for all other fried rice you eat. 2) Seafood Pan Fried Noodles Of course, a noodle dish from a "noodle cafe" has to make this list. As you pour out the sauce on top of the noodles, the sauce heats up the noodles just enough to enjoy some crunch and tenderness at the same time. Even if you're ordering take-out, you don't miss out on the magic: the sauce is packed separately from the noodles so that you can enjoy the full experience at home. 3) Egg Noodle Soup (w/ shrimp dumplings or pork) I recommend this especially if you are dining in, but you can't go wrong if you're more comfortable carrying out (especially in these covid times). The simplicity and the warmth of noodle soup will make you feel warm and homey especially in the winter (and I'm not even Chinese). The noodles saturate the flavorful soup, and you can feel that subtle richness and thickness in every bite. Additionally, each bowl contains plenty of meats and vegetables; the folks at Sang Kee are generous! We love the big bowl of soups, and the chow fun noodles with beef are excellent. My husband likes the beef-based noodle soups, and my very favorite is wonton soup with green veggies and roasted pork. Thanks to Yelp reviews, we found this little gem for Chinese food on our way back from Six Flags. We had a duck roll and juicy little dumplings for appetizers. Their duck rolls are very delicious!! The duck is a roasted perfection, wrapped with a soft moo Shu shell with green onions and plum sauce. The dumplings were steamed, came out juicy, hot and so yummy!! They were so good that I forgot to take a picture of them before we ate them. We also got a happy family hot pot, which has a bit of everything tasty like fresh vegetables, roasted pork, seafood, all cooked together in a brown sauce. Excellent dinner! read more
