The store is convenient to go to when you are at the beach, and they have a nice selection of different brands of clothing, with many different choices--shirts,hoodies and more--that say Santa Cruz on them ( the city, not the company). After the item sold, Jon made zero effort to reach out or notify us. When I finally followed up months later to check on the status, I was met with a continuous runaround, including unfulfilled promises of a mailed check that never arrived. As a business owner, handling consignment means honoring your agreement and paying your clients transparently. Unfortunately, that is not how this establishment operates. It felt as though the strategy was to hope we would simply forget about the item, and once we pursued it, the response was to dodge communication. While Jon did finally settle the payment, it only happened after multiple, unnecessary trips to the shop and persistent phone calls and texts. Santa Cruz is a close-knit community built on trust, mutual respect, and supporting local business. It is incredibly disappointing to see a local operator handle client relationships with such dishonesty and evasion. I am sharing this to warn fellow surfers and community members: protect your gear, your time, and your money, and take your business to a shop that values integrity. Also, there's an obvious trend with these reviews. I'm not the only one.
