She helped me look through the shoes and the leather goods-- I ended up being more drawn to the shoes, particularly the Opyum heel (YSL insignia as the heel high heeled sandals). She explained that it does require some breaking in of the front strap and explained the differences in material and versus the other styles. For people that don't know, most luxury brand stores have special Hawaii pricing which means that it's cheaper to buy in Hawaii than in the mainland U.S. For YSL, it's 20% off the sticker price on everything. For a kama'āina, I always prefer purchasing luxury goods in Hawaii because it's 20% cheaper than its mainland/continental US counterparts and VAT is only 4.712%. My Black Zippered Card Case in Gold Hardware was only $314.14 (Hawaii MSRP $300 + Hawaii VAT). Compare to Las Vegas, Nevada it would be $406.40 (mainland/continental US price $375 + 8.375% VAT). All together, I saved $92.26 for this item. Another example is the classic Black Small Kate Tassel in Gold Hardware, Hawaii its $1415.71 (Hawaii MSRP $1,352 + Hawaii VAT) while in Las Vegas, Nevada its $1,831.54 ($1690 + 8.375% VAT) which ends up to be a $415.83 difference. I plan to purchase the YSL Lou, WOC Mixed Metallase or Medium Envelope with the Gold Hardware in the coming future. You won't find a good deal anywhere else. read more

I already had my heart set on a specific purse online but realized it was way smaller in person and I couldn't fit my sunglass case inside. The associate was awesome and showed me other purses that were a bit roomier. When it came time to purchase, she asked me if I wanted to use multiple credit cards for my purchase. I'm not sure if this is asked to everyone but it caught me off guard. I was confused at first why I'd need to use multiple cards then I realized maybe she thought I couldn't afford it? My family and I went into the store last night to shop and purchase a bag. We were barely greeted by a male associate and he followed us around the entire store without saying one thing. He did not ask if we needed assistance, wanted to see anything or just inquire about our visit to the store. All of the other designer stores were extremely welcoming and had amazing customer service. YSL, you just lost a lot of business because we will be sharing this with everyone we know. Prada, Gucci, Louis, Fendi and Ferragamo are all amazing brands with excellent customer service. YSL, do better. Also, we did not catch the name of the associate who was working but he was a taller, Asian, male and the time was around 8:00 PM. I went to the YSL website and reserved my bag since I saw on YouTube that the LouLou was a hot product. I received the best customer service from Jason Chong. And for that reason, I'm giving this Saint Laurent 5/5 stars. What made the difference in Jason's customer service was his product knowledge. He immediately greeted my sister-in-law and I, the moment we walked in. And despite me choosing a bag I thought I liked, Jason showed me several other options within my price point and explained why those were the better, more on trend options. His customer service is above and beyond and exemplary of how sales associates should treat customers. I left feeling completely satisfied with my purchases. My experience at this store FAR exceeded my expectations. Joe was super friendly, approachable, and patient. I appreciated that he was not pushy at all and let me hold a bag for 48H so I could think about it. They had a really extensive selection of colors and pointed out the differences between the various models that I might not have considered (like where the shoulder strap attaches). He explained to us that the store is 20% less than the mainland because they have a lot of customers from places like Canada and Australia where their dollar is a lot weaker. I received really great customer service here. It was pretty late so there wasn't a whole lot of people in the store. Jason helped me and he was wonderful! Never once felt pressured. He answered all of my questions and never seemed annoyed when I asked for a newer bag (not store display). I was a little indecisive about which color I wanted but he helped me choose a color. Oh my god Jason is amazing! I contacted the store a little over a few weeks before my trip to inquire about a pair of sandals and a few bags I was interested in getting. Not only was he able to find what I was looking for, but he was responsive to all of my texts about all things YSL related. I could tell that he cared about the client's happiness when it came to purchasing designer goods. Fast forward to the day I went to the store to pick up my things. Jason greeted me and showed me my sandals and bag which were even more gorgeous in person. I appreciated his feedback whenever I asked him his opinion on the look or fit, it was like shopping with your friend. We even convinced my cousin to buy a card holder for her boyfriend which he loved! I was born and raised on Oahu but have been living in the Pacific Northwest for the past 8 years. I was going to be visiting for a brief 5 days and had been wanting the e/w shopping bag tote. I called 4 days before I flew in to ask if they had the tote in stock. Turns out they did and they offered to put it on hold for me. I went in on a Thursday afternoon and was greeted by ALL of the staff members as soon as I walked in. I gave them my name and Rylan offered for me to try on the floor model just to confirm if I wanted the bag or not. The bags from Saint Laurent are BEAUTIFUL. After letting him know that I still wanted it, Rylan went to the back to get the brand new bag that they had put on hold for me and allowed me to inspect it. He informed me that I would receive 20% off of the online pricing, and then after 4% Hawaii sales tax was added, I paid significantly less than the $995 price of this bag. Rylan was very thorough with explaining about the company and informed me that if I ever had any problems with the bag I could take it to any Saint Laurent, including internationally. I've been waiting forever to buy an arty ring (almost bought it in Vegas last year and in LA for Christmas; couldn't justify the purchase yet) but the boyfriend wanted to buy me one as a graduation/commencement present so we waited till we were in Hawai'i to buy it. Tax is cheaper of course so that was a factor in deciding to wait to buy. Not that it makes a BIG difference but you can save a little. I like to think of it as more spam musubis for me! While on a layover in Hawaii back in March, we came by to find a graduation present for my sister. We were told by our sales associate, Joe, that prices at their store are 20% cheaper than Los Angeles.
