Just purchased my first item from YSL today and I am extremely satisfied! I originally went in on a Tuesday and was browsing. I came in to look at the Envelope bag and had a hard time deciding if I wanted the silver or gold hardware. Jason came up to me first and showed me both options and I told him I still couldn't decide which one to get. He didn't pressure me at all and even said I can come back whenever I was ready to make a purchase and gave me his card with his info. He was very informative and even told me if I wanted anything else I saw online to call him and he would check if they had it in stores for me. I came back Thursday and luckily he was there! I finally decided on the silver hardware and the best part was the whole store is 20% off. I feel very content with my purchase as well as his customer service. After my experience and customer service here, I am definitely coming back, and I am a fan for life of YSL! I had called before our vacation to put a purse on hold and Joe helped me. He's amazing!! If you ever go, ask for him. He will go above and beyond to make you happy! We kept in touch through text as he was texting me pics of the purse to make sure it was the correct one that I wanted. When I arrived I also ended up buying a matching wallet. Unfortunately, his store only had the display available so he ended up picking it up for me from Ala Moana and delivering it all the way to the Four Seasons in Ko Olina for me. I had such an amazing shopping experience here. I planned on purchasing something for sure but wasn't sure which brand I wanted. I was deciding between Gucci and YSL but wanted to shop around both stores before buying anything. I was in the market for wallets for my boyfriend and I, I knew that for a fact. We went into Gucci first; didn't purchase or even want to stay in the store because no one seemed to want to help us. Here's my problem about shopping at high end stores: they seem to wanna judge a person by their looks, and just solely on that. I usually never dress up or even remotely look like I even have the money for the brand. But this YSL store was so different! Everyone was super friendly the moment we stepped in. We got greeted (at Gucci, no one greeted us there lol) and a worker approached us right away asking if he could be of any assistance. He was suuuuuper helpful. I was shopping for wallets and he showed me so many options and different types they had. I got really interested in their chain bags, I mean what girl dreams about those bags. He showed me the size and styles.... let's just say the price is what sold me really. In the mainland it's full price and also about 9% tax. I bought my chain bag for 20% off the full price and 4% tax!!! Honestly that's a steal and an offer I couldn't walk away from. I bought my bag and a wallet for my boyfriend. The reason I bought this brand was because how friendly our salesman was. Jason is the go to guy! Doesn't pressure you, just tells you how it is. Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) will simply be known as Saint Laurent Paris (SLP) soon, likely in 2013. YSL isn't my luxury brand of choice, but I wanted to get a real YSL item before this name change was official. This location is spacious, as expected for high end shops on the Waikiki Strip. YSL knew what customers wanted. Bags, wallets, and things that go in your hand are located on the first floor. There was a menswear section with actual variety on the 2nd floor. Women's ready-to-wear and shoes are also on the second floor. I liked this YSL for its variety of styles. Conservative go-to purses and wild seasonal clutches. I found a bi-fold checkbook style wallet in a unique design. While the trademark YSL logo was small, it didn't disrupt the pattern. The sales associate was quick to strike up a conversation with me. She even let me choose from the stock which particular version of the wallet I wanted to purchase. The wallet was carefully wrapped and given to me Japanese style. A wallet goes in a box, which goes in a beautiful bag, which is then sealed with a YSL sticker, which is again tied in YSL ribbon to prevent it from opening. Beautiful products and wonderful service. My mom and I have been on a search for the perfect 'souvenir' to take home! She found hers at Valentino in Ala Moana, but I've been bouncing between Céline and Chanel. I had overlooked Saint Laurent, but when my mom and I went into the Kalakaua location today, I was absolutely hooked. Miho approached us with a kind introduction and she asked us where we were visiting from. And from there, a very natural and genuine conversation started and we started talking about our pets, out of all things! She had a very warm and welcoming personality, which made me feel at ease. I always feel like I'm being judged at luxury boutiques, but when Miho whipped out her phone to show me pictures of her cats, I felt so relaxed. I wasn't too familiar with YSL, and so Miho took the time to show us their signature pieces as well as explaining their key features. I was so impressed with their collection, as well as their wide variety of colors! She told us of all the promotions going on and never made me feel rushed or pressured to make a purchase. Unfortunately, my mom and I only stopped by for a quick visit, since we had to go pick up my dad from the airport. I asked Miho when she usually worked and she gave me her business card and even wrote down her e-mail address in case I ever needed to order items from her. She also informed me of her days off, so I know exactly when to visit! My mom and I talked it over and I think we're going to go visit Miho tomorrow and hopefully (fingers crossed!) take home my first Saint Laurent piece. read more

I must say, I was completely blown away by Jason's customer service. This guy not only greeted us right away after we had come from the beach and looked a bit shabby, but he was quick to offer us drinks (which we declined because we had a drink prior) and was really attentive to us! He not only showed me the bag I wanted, but when I noticed a flaw, he told me he would email me to let me know when new stock came in. True to his words, Jason emailed me EVERY DAY to keep me updated on the status of the new stock. That is A+++ in my books! When I went to pick up my bag, he actually had three bags lined up for me to choose from, along with two glasses of champagne. I know it's the norm to have drinks while shopping, but Jason didn't even skip a beat and told me he saw a fruit fly in my drink when I went to take a sip, and quickly replaced my glass. I was floored at his willingness to go above and beyond in order to exceed customer satisfaction. So much so that I took several of his business cards and will be telling my friends who vacation in Hawaii to buy from him instead. If you're heading to the Hawaii YSL on luxury row, I highly recommend Jason Chong as he truly goes above and beyond. Both Ala Moana & Waikiki location have absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced! Compared to higher-end luxury stores I've shopped at like Chanel and Hermes which have the most amazing customer service!!! I walked into YSL knowing what I wanted and expecting to purchase the same day. There was only two sales associates working, one younger male who was assisting a customer and a middle-aged Japanese lady. Apparently, this japanese sales associates acknowledge me , greeted me but did not assist me at all. Instead, she chased after the japanese tourist that walked in after me and walked backed out after 5 minutes. Still browsing at wallets and still no assistance. I had to ask the security guard to call for a sales associate, which was that same japanese lady from earlier. All she did was watch me decide on two wallets. Did not say a word, did not smile, did not offer to show me other colors, she just did not talk at all. instead I had to ask her if there were other colors. I felt very uncomfortable and just decided on what I wanted. After she asked for my information and she realized I was a Hawaii resident she then decided to be a bit friendlier. I love YSL but my experience in store, I feel as if I no longer want to give them business. read more
