My husband and I had a fantastic meal at Saint Leo for our anniversary. The burrata appetizer was amazing, as was my pasta dish (squid ink fettuccine w/ shrimp -- still thinking about it) and my husband's pizza. The cocktail menu was so enticing -- it was hard to choose just one. And I can't say enough about the staff....to a person they were all incredibly professional, attentive and friendly. We met Joe, the restaurant's beverage director, across the street at St. Leo Lounge when we were having a snack earlier in the afternoon and apparently when we found out we were celebrating our anniversary at Saint Leo later that evening, he called over and asked them to bring us two glasses of champagne on the house during dinner. You just don't see that kind of hospitality many places. We'll definitely be back! read more

There's a lot of good pizza in the universe, but St. Leo's wood-fired, thin-crust pizza is some of the greatest ever. Every topping we tried there was amazing, from the basic margarita to the spicy, cheesy Bianca and the standout sausage and kale pie. There's even a breakfast pizza served for brunch that's worth checking out. And all the pizza has the best Neapolitian-style crust I've ever had--perfectly leopard-spotted, crunchy and chewy...yum. We went a couple of times and everything else on the menu was consistently delicious, especially the spaghetti carbonara and the chocolate waffles (brunch) and the massive pork chops (dinner). The housemade olives and ice creams were also excellent. And the drinks! We really enjoyed original, creative cocktails like the Starting Pistol, the Proseco Pop, and the Last Word (at their new lounge/bar across the street). Oh and did I mention the bullet coffee? If you're visiting Oxford, it's worth making more than one stop at St. Leo. And it's also worth visiting Oxford just to try it. We'll be back! read more

I would agree with the overall rating. We went for drinks and appetizers and sat at the bar. The bar tenders are special. They are true mixologist. If you want a drink with fresh ingredients this is your place. We also could not help ourselves and had the margarita pizza. Wow. Light, fresh and flavorful. Totally chic interior, amazing food and a fun spot for weekend brunch. It was my first time in Oxford, and me and a girlfriend were trying to figure out where to go for a boozy brunch on a late Saturday afternoon. They had a great brunch menu with interesting food choices, decent portions (not too much if you're also drinking but not so small that you're left hungry) and the bloody mary was absolutely awesome! Just spicy enough and not bland at all. I got the baked eggs and crostini, which was crispy and satisfying. Also something I enjoyed was the prosecco pop cocktail, with a berry popsicle dipped in a glass of chilled prosecco. A must go to if you're in the area! read more

Was visiting family in Oxford and wanted to get brunch on the Square. Our group was rather large but we were seated pretty quickly. Great food. Never was a fan of eating pizza for brunch, but their breakfast pizza was phenomenal. The crust on the pizza was perfect. Great service. The server was friendly and amazing in accommodating our crazy. He gave us some great suggestions for food and drinks. They didn't have a separate kids menu, but he suggested they could whip up a pasta dish for my toddler (which she loved and engulfed). Not sure if there was something in the food (kidding...), but our children were on their best behavior during the entire meal. That alone would make me come back to Saint Leo! :) I am definitely a fan. read more

Oh my. What a good restaurant. If I had a girlfriend I would take her here for dinner. The atmosphere simply invites conversation. Also, the waiters/waitresses wear really cool aprons sometimes. The steak here is delicious; I especially enjoy the chimichurri steak, but I believe this is just a special. The burrata is an excellent appetizer, as well. I like this place a lot better for dinner than lunch. I believe it becomes more upscale at dinner and the menu expands to some of my favorite items at dinner time. First and foremost, I'll be coming back here to try this place again. I've never had such a wonderful experience in a restaurant where I had them take back the entree. The cocktails were on the pricey side but easily the best cocktails I've had on the square. Their old fashioned and starting pistol were simply fantastic. The desert we ordered was also delicious. The service was prompt and polite. The atmosphere and ambiance we're exactly what a fine dining place should be, unlike City Grocery. Now, we ordered their marg pizza, and it was very disappointing. It was soggy and blandly flavored. We had it sent back and removed from our check without any problems, or headaches and an apology from their manager who came to our table (without our request to speak to him or anything) to apologize. I'd be happy to come back here and update this review at a later date. This place definitely has potential to be the best restaurant in Oxford. read more

There's no arguing that Saint Leo has good food. I had the Panzanella and my friend had the Mezzi Rigatoni, and both were good. My only qualm with it was the price. Both of our meals didn't even contain meat, yet the Panzanella was priced at $18 and the Mezzi Rigatoni was over $25. I really like this place. The atmosphere is good the food has always been excellent and they have a good specialty drink list. My favorite meals have been the stuffed pork chop and the squid ink pasta with shrimp. The grilled bread and charcuterie plates are a must try. The new St Leo Lounge down the street is a great addition. Go have a drink there while waiting on your table. Unlike St. Leo the lounge is open with plenty of space. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat at in Oxford until this weekend. The sudden change is not because of the food, the food is always very good. But because of the horrible management. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a restaurant. Instead of allowing our table to enjoy our last bottle of wine, the manager was too concerned about the line of people waiting to get seated outside. Despite the fact we had already had five courses and spent hundreds of dollars, he proceeded to pick up our wine and water glasses and insist that we leave because we had been "over served". It is beyond wrong to put a time limit on a table. As if it couldn't get worse, the manager insisted we leave because he claimed that I was falling asleep at the table. Making false claims to his superiority to ensure we leave is beyond me and really disappointing. I know a server who works here and was informed he was only trying to get us to leave so he could seat his friends. After waiting tables for several years myself at a busy rooftop bar, I can't imagine treating paying customers the way I was treated. It was shocking and embarrassing to say the least. read more

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Oxford. We live here so checking out all the eating spots is sort of our thing. We realized we hadn't been to Saint Leo and decided to grab a quick bite and a glass of wine. We ended up with a full meal! The anitpasta selections were fresh and delicious. I had the chef special (prime rib) and it. was. AMAZING! (Seriously. I had no intention on eating dinner and ended up having to push the plate away). Really like this place but even with their prices (which are not an issue, honestly what you should expect to spend) they decided to lower the bread portions from full slices to 1/4th of what they used to be. The new slices of bread could seriously be used as toothpicks. And then if you ask for another toothpick sized piece of bread then they will charge you a dollar. Kinda crazy in my opinion. I guess their profit margin was just too small? Or maybe their new building costs more rent so they decided to take it out on the bread they serve? Not sure. Wonderful pizza, cocktails, salads, and pastas! The items we have tried are always top quality, service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is cozy and elegant. Where to begin?? The ambiance is nothing short of perfection. While the entry can become quite cramped, just find a seat at the bar while you wait and have Joe serve up a tasty cocktail. My beverage of choice was the Starting Pistol. You can tell that the menu was carefully thought out and creative may be an understatement. What is nice is there is plenty to choose from and the servings are the perfect size to share with the rest of your table. We're in from Knoxville for a college tour. I love this town, and absolutely fell in love with Ole Miss! Saint Leo made the visit even better! Marla Rose was our sever and was so sweet! She recommended only the best! My mom and I had the bruschetta for the appetizer. We split the chopped salad (wonderful), as well as the special: snapper with mashed potatoes & squash.
