With everything going on right now, I still couldn't get my first experience I had at Saint Leo on Friday, March 13th out of my mind. My boyfriend and I decided to have a Friday date night here since we both had never eaten there before, and we definitely chose right. So, I decided to let it out the best way I know...a 5 star Yelp review, of course! Before I get into the amazing food experience, without making reservations, the hostess was able to sit us immediately. We were placed in between a family of three, to my right, and an older couple, to my left. As soon as we sat, the couple to the left had the sweetest things to say to us, forgetting exactly the words, however, they started our nuance with uplifting spirits. Throughout our meal, the Dad of the family commented on both our entrees saying, "You guys picked the best. I usually get the 'Pork Cheek Ragu' (the only other pasta option), but I'm changing it up and got the 'Squid Ink'. Our server, Drake, was sharp and cool about everything we inquired about and was well respectful. We started our meals off with the wine & cocktails. He enjoyed a 'Starting Pistol' while I had the 'Carta Nova, Pinot Noir'. We ordered the 'house-marinated olives' as our appetizer, and they were perfectly seasoned. When we decided to order the pasta, Drake informed us the wait on pasta would take a while. To our surprise, the cook, Zach, is good buddies with my boyfriend and not even 2 minutes after Drake told us, we were given our entree. I enjoyed the 'Squid Ink Fettucine & Gulf Shrimp' and he had the 'Pork Cheek Ragu'. All in all, we can both agree we had the best drinks, freshest appetizer, tastiest entrees, and topped off the evening with the indulgence of the seasonal ice cream dessert, strawberry mint. P.S. one of my bf and I's favorite song by The Weeknd, "Heartless" played...cherry on top. :-) Will be back again VERY soon. read more

With no reservation we took a chance knowing it was going to take a bit to get in on a busy Friday night, but we eventually got in. I highly recommend reservations. Two of us had the Orecchiette, which was very tasty although the portion was a bit light. The other two had pizza, which were fantastic. All around a good experience and worth the wait. read more

What a gem! I came to Saint Leo by myself while in Oxford for business on the recommendation of a colleague. I asked to be seated at the bar since I was by myself. I was immediately greeted by Logan (AGM). He gave me the wine list and a few recommendations. I had the Paitin from Italy that was a nice find. The first few sips were okay, but then the wine opened up and was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the prosciutto, arugula and mozzarella pizza which was incredible. The atmosphere was fun and I enjoyed watching the bartenders create some interesting craft cocktails. Very entertaining! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The dining experience at Saint Leo was truly sublime. My wife and I appreciated the nuanced attention to detail including the sensual and opulent atmosphere. The suave lounge music did not go unnoticed, and it made us feel like we were indulging at a swanky New York City establishment. It was just what the doctor ordered for our four-year anniversary! This would not be an adequate review if I did not comment on the budino and stupendous customer service from Logan. We just found out we are expecting our first child together, and I want to take the time to sincerely thank this establishment for setting the mood. 11/10 dining experience. Best brunch in town!! If they served brunch everyday rather than just the weekend, I'd be out of money. If I'm ever in town, I make a special effort to squeeze in a Saturday or Sunday morning here. It's so good I'm putting emojis for everything. I always get 1 of 3 things: the Lion Tamer (2 eggs in tomato sauce with parmigiano, parsley, & grilled garlic-rubbed bread), the polenta bowl (house cured pork belly, roasted cherry tomatoes,& 2 eggs), or my personal favorite, the spaghetti carbonara. I won't leave out the OJ bc it would be a crime to do so. For the record, I don't even like orange juice like that. The only times I drink it are if it's spiked (the mimosas here are good too) or if it's specifically Saint Leo's OJ. It literally tastes like sunshine in a glass. It's unreal. Y'all gotta try it. What a brunch! Read the hype about best brunch in Oxford -- and they're right. We ordered a bottle of champagne to start (big selection) and got a huge plate of perfectly seasoned fries, how fun is that? Hot fries pair remarkably well with chilled bubbly. Very unique brunch menu; our party of 5 got a variety of food and we all loved what we got. I recommend the breakfast pizza, just as our waiter recommended it to me. Noticeably delicious coffee. The place is small and it was packed so if you want a table make a reservation. I escaped the college crowd in the square and slipped into this very quaint very grown up restaurant. I sat at the bar and had a Prosecco Pop cocktail while I waited on my sexy pizza. When it arrived the bartender paused making drinks and waited for me to take my first bite. Meh, overpriced, too loud. Cool vibe inside. Food was OK but nothing extraordinary. Drinks were expensive and small. 9 pizzas but only 3 pasta dishes - really? Appetizers mostly over $15 with the meat and cheese tray at $28.50. Our small group got pasta, pizza and drinks. The gnocchi was very small and the onions were raw - not al dente - raw. The pizza is pretty good but the middle was soggy from the sauce. This was the case with 2 different pizzas. I found the sauce to be a little bitter. The waiter was awesome. The decor is cool. We had to shout a little to hear each other over the music. Decent food, drinks and experience but not worth the prices they are charging. read more

The chili bacon jam pizza is funky but tasty, and the Bianca pizza is to die for. That bacon jam pizza kind of tastes like spaghetti o's lol it's hard to explain. Some of the worst Italian food I've ever had. I had the PAPPARDELLE BOLOGNESE and it had the taste and consistency of warmed up hamburger helper. Second time dining at Saint Leo but first since they switched locations. They had a really cute setup with outdoor seating for COVID. The food is unbelievable. Our waitress was very cool too. Shameful. We arrived to 2 hostesses that wouldn't seat us, wouldn't let us order a drink at the bar, and couldn't tell us how long the wait would be ('it shouldn't be that long' is not helpful). The food looked fantastic and we came well dressed, excited to see Oxford and enjoy a great meal. Nearly half the tables were open and it was about 4pm on a Friday. The hostesses continued to mumble and stare blankly at us. The entryway was congested and uncomfortable. The hostesses proceeded to tell us there were 260 people on their wait list but we could wait for dinner service to turnover. Holy smokes, terrible experience. Would not recommend. Excellent!!!! We made reservations for our one night in town upon the recommendation of our hotel. We it to be very cozy with ambience, and a buzzing vibe. The service was great from host staff to servers. We sat at a window, high top near the bar and enjoyed our vantage point of both bar and restaurant. Our meal was delicious!!! Beautifully presented, large portions (we split everything between 2 of us), fresh and flavorful. The bread was delicious too!
