We went to Saint Street Grill in Port Moody to celebrate my brothers special 50th as well as my moms birthday. We wanted a memorable dinner and we picked right! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile and taken to our reserved table. Shortly after Lyn appeared at our table with a warm welcoming smile! She definitely made our night special. We were checked on numerous times, and always had what we needed. We enjoyed the burrata and carpaccio to start, as well as starter ceasar salads. All were fantastic! Each of us then enjoyed a main, all finished to perfection by chef Dado. Saint Street Grill is definitely above other restaurants in the tri cities and it is the perfect place for a special celebration. Wanted to take my wife on her birthday for a nice dinner. Daughter recommended the Saint St grill in Port Moody. Why not, fine dinning, highly recommended. The ambient is old school charm. Italian, European, very comfortable. Service was excellent, comparable to cruise ships. We ordered the tasting manu to share at $89 and a chi chi. First course came, 2 scallops, lightly grilled, smelled of the sea, not very pleasant. Second course was a thin slice of roast duck, about 3x1. I had half of that slice, lost in my mouth. As stated: "fine dinning", one piece, very fine. In quality, not quantity. Lightly garnished. The third course of 2 thin slices of salmon, lightly garnished, nothing to write home about. Then came 2 small lamb chops, medium rare with a bit more garnish. That was tender and done right. The desert was a tiny one and a half inches cube of chocolate cake with blue berries on top. As a conclusion, if you want substantial hearty food, this is not the place, but if you want a fine dinning experience, this will do. My friend was exhibiting her artwork at an exhibition in the PoMo gallery across the street, so we decided to go early and have a light dinner beforehand. We only had an hour to eat before the art show started at 6pm, and this restaurant is literally across the street, and it opens for dinner at 5pm, so it was is if it was just meant to be! And we are so glad, as we all had a wonderful meal here. We decided to dine out on the patio in the rear, as it was still light out and the weather was lovely. As we walked through the restaurant interior, we noted how cozy it was, and dark, too. Very "old world European" aesthetic but with a quirky flair. In contrast, the patio in the back was open, large, and light. We loved the canopy of strung patio lights, and how one side wall of concrete was adorned with gold gilded mirrors. So cool! We really loved the vibe of this patio area, and we got a great table right in the far corner. The host who seated us seemed to be the nerve-center of the restaurant, as he knew the menu inside out, made awesome recommendations, helped our server with bringing us our meals, and came by to see how we were doing (as he did with all the other diners). He may have been the manager, I'm not sure, but I wish I had gotten his name. He was incredible. Definitely had that "it" factor, where he is great with people and knows the restaurant workings inside out. Charming and knowledgable and running the show. We knew we were in good hands. The whole menu looked great but we only had an hour and we didn't want to have a heavy dinner, so my friends each had a salad (one had pear and gorgonzola, the other had strawberry and cucumber. Both were fabulous). I asked the awesome host/server what he recommended between a few dishes and he suggested the seafood chowder, saying it's been on their menu for 28 years (I think that's what he said. I may have gotten the amount of years wrong. But whatever, it was a long time!). So I ordered the chowder, and it was fantastic! Not like New England clam chowder, granted, but more delicate, with a lot of dill (which I love). Very tasty dish I also ordered a got cheese tart as an appetizer for the table and it was wonderful. Truly, every dish was perfect. Even the bread basket with focaccia and whipped butter was delicious. We had glasses of house pinot grigio and they, too, were delicious. First time here! Great food, great ambience, and great service. Originally we were planning to have dinner at another restaurant in Port Moody, but it was fully booked, so I looked up on Yelp and tried to find a good restaurant in the neighbourhood. I saw this restaurant was highly rated, so I decided to give it a try. Our server (called James(?)... hope I didn't get his name wrong) was offering great customer service. He took great care of our table from the beginning to the end of the meal. He was humoured and friendly. He answered our questions about the food on the menu and introduced us to the special dishes for the day. 5 of us ordered the seafood chowder and 1 ordered a grilled Caesar salad. The seafood chowder had a lot of seafood and the flavour of the soup tasted excellent!! We had not had good chowder in a long time. The grilled Caesar salad was very special that we didn't usually see it on others' menus. One of us ordered Arctic char. I ordered seafood bouillabaisse. Two of us ordered the prawn tagliatelle. One ordered chicken. And one order beast of duck. All of them tasted great. I don't want to describe every single dish. I personally paid attention to quality, flavour and presentation. These dishes met all my requirements. We also ordered a flourless chocolate tart and a small cheesecake with granola crumb and apricot jam as desserts. The flourless chocolate tart was delicious that it was not tasted too sweet but it seems we were eating chocolates in heaven. The chocolate tart tasted better than the cheesecake but both were good. There is a lot of street parking. Don't need to worry about parking. The interior design is very traditional but classic fine dining type. Pricing is reasonable at this level of restaurant. I came here with someone for dinner in August. While it took a long time for the food to come out and was a disappointment and the waitress was absent minded, forgetting a steak knife and my beverage, it was the host that really shone and made this review go from a 2 star rating to a 3. Saint St. Grill is decorated in a lavish European style indoors. I saw they have an outdoor patio in the back but didn't have a good look at it to have an opinion. I had the bocconcini salad, which is basil leaves, mozzerella and some kind of melon. On the menu, it said it was beets, so not what I was expecting. For my entree, I ordered the duck which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The person with me ordered the butter chicken ravioli, an Indian spiced dished with a tomato curry creme. After waiting for about 30 minutes and seeing tables that came in after us receive their entrees, we finally received ours. The duck was overcooked and dry, the mashed potatoes were lukewarm, and the vegetables were just a small slice of carrot and squash. It was probably also cooled off even more by the fact a knife wasn't served with the duck and I had to attempt to wave the waitress down several times before a server saw me and brought me one. The duck was well seasoned though. The guy with me said his ravioli was good. Waited another 20 minutes for the check which was dropped off without a word about asking how we were, no refills on drinks nor request if we wanted dessert. After a long, emotional day, I felt ignored by the staff and just paid and left. Afterwards, I realized the right thing to do was go back and talk to the manager. I went back to the restaurant and the manager met with me. He apologized profusely for the poor service and cold food and comped the bill. He was extremely kind, understanding and sincere, even holding my hand and offered to do whatever he could to make it up to me, even offering a credit towards a future meal. I politely declined since I don't live in the area. He explained the waitress we had was new as well and still being trained. He made a definite impression on me and I really appreciate how he went above and beyond to make up for the experience. I saw him interact with other diners while I was there, and his warmth was pure towards everyone he came in contact with as well. The wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner. It was very pleasant and romantic (wife's words), We had the Seafood Trio Appetizer and although I thought it was a little small, it made up for it in flavor. Everything on that plate had its own flavor and my mouth waters thinking about it even a day later. Our Main Courses: She had the Duck and I had the Free running Chicken (lol). I am guessing they meant "free range"... Wife thoroughly loved the Duck. She said "Duck breast was perfectly season and executed. Scallops were seared to perfection." I tased the duck and it has a very distinct flavor (definitely doesn't taste like chicken), it was awesome, however my chicken was beyond AMAZING, at the top of the charts in juicy flavor... Awwww... Every time you put a piece in your mouth you have to put the fork down for a moment, you don't even want to chew because you don't want it to end. When it was over I was STUFFED, the way the food is skillfully displayed on the plate, really camouflages the quantity. The food is brought to your table by a waiter who knows everything about what's being served and describes it artfully, I don't know how long he worked there, but his descriptions of desert made my mouth water even as full as I was. My description will never do it justice but end result was I had to have the Cinnamon Pear Cake with the Caramel drizzled sauce! And boy am I glad I did. It can be summed up in three words TO DIE FOR! OMG well four if you add heavenly... I am not kidding if they don't have this desert in heaven I am not going! It is an unexpectedly perfect combination of pear and cinnamon tastiness, taken to the next step (What Next Step? Impossible you say? I know right!!!) with vanilla ice-cream. For realz, go there just for that and you will understand why all the angels in heaven come to Canada for this reason. All joking aside, both my wife and I enjoyed this night very much. This is the best restaurant in the Tri-Cities. My wife and I have been eating here for at least 14 years. The food is wonderful and the menu changes on a regular basis. I've always ended up with new favorites. The decor in the restaurant is very eclectic and makes for new discoveries each and every time you go there. If you see a small drawer, sneak a peek and you might find a treat. The staff are what really make the restaurant special. They have become not only the amazing professional servers we have come to know, but also people we care about. There is one last thing to add. It is a secret dessert that they only make for special people. It is not super special, but it caps off the night perfectly... it's called the Pavlina. I was driving home through Port Moody on a weekday and I was thinking I should get a quick bite to eat. Thanks to Yelp it pointed me right to this little gem. When I arrived I was a little hesitant as the environment was more formal than I was expecting and the place was empty. Despite looking like a slob I bit the bullet and gave it a try. I ordered the Saint St Burger for $13 and all I can say is wow! This is their description of the burger from their website: "House-made triple-A beef burger served on focaccia bread with bacon, mushrooms, shaved asiago, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and dijon aioli, served with soup or salad" I know Burgers and I know them well. I spent a couple years trying to perfect the best burger but what I was served put all of my work to shame. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the focaccia was a surprisingly good match and all the ingredients worked very well together. All for $13? This is a steal! It even came with a soup of the day which in my opinion was worth that price alone. Now I've only had their burger and soup for lunch, perhaps my review could change but I'm definitely going to try this place out for dinner. read more

I planned a corporate event here for 30 people and it was PERFECT. We had the 3 course party menu and there were choices for everyone. As really the only "nice" restaurant in the Tri-Cities one should have high expectations. Having moved out to this area from Vancouver the bar was set high. And Saint St has never disappointed. From romantic birthday & anniversary dinners to special wine nights to large group parties I have never had a negative experience. In fact sometimes the bus people are so attentive with refilling the water we need to ask them to please stop. The food is consistently good and the grilled Caesar salad is my favourite appy. The entrees are well prepared and a decent size - but people used to American excess may be disappointed. I would rather enjoy a wonderful 3 course meal and still be able to walk out not feeling like I need a wheelchair or my stomach pumped. It is nice to be able to stay local, to not have to drive downtown, to have an adult meal experience. read more

Have been to this restaurant about a dozen times over last year or so and it's definitely one of my favourites. I have been meaning to put a review with some recommendations for a while but haven't had the chance. I absolutely love the grilled Caesar salad, the prawn linguini as well as the gnocchi and the wine selection is fantastic and the ambience I really enjoy. We usually have the same male waiter who is very happy and all about the customer service. There is a European blonde lady also who serves there too and is good. I was shocked to see a sting of negative reviews all posted between October and November that appear to be sabotaging (perhaps that's why they are all filtered) this restaurant and don't reflect the experience that I have had at all my visits to this business. I have been to this restaurant with Small and large groups and have yet to have a negative experience. read more

We were enticed by the look of a romantic patio in the back and the many times we walked by seeing a full house at this restaurant. The night we went, restaurant was at 50% capacity or so--although this may have been partly a COVID restriction, we had also seen the restaurant busier during this COVID phase too. Anyhow, the service was friendly and efficient although could have been more attentive (i.e. water wasn't refilled until the end of the meal). The food was well presented and tasted average. It was so-so. It didn't wow me, but I wouldn't say I "didn't like" it. We started with the tuna appetizer. My husband got the lamb sirloin and I had the salmon for our entrees. I am giving it 3 stars because the portions seemed small, especially given the price tag. This place looks the part form the outside but that's about as far as it goes. The menu was limited and the prices were very high so we expected it to be on point, however what we received was really very poor. The quality of the food was lackluster and there was a musty smell in the place that just wouldn't settle. I ordered the Risotto. It arrived cold! When I brought this to the attention of the waitress (who was very lovely-no complaints about the servers) she immediately returned it to the kitchen where they proceeded to microwave the dish and add another excessive amount of parmesan on top and re-serve. Not what you expect from this 'high end restaurant'. My dish was now a big overly cheesy mess - so much so that after a few spoonful's I had to abandon the dish. We sat out on the patio, restaurant was fairly busy. We shared the mango curry prawns & had the tuna carpaccio. I would recommend the Prawns as they are fantastic. For dinner we both had the Prawn & Bay Scallop pasta dish which was mouth watering to the last bit. That dish I will be returning to have. I would also like to try the seafood hot pot another time. We had the blueberry cheese cake for dessert, was not too sweet but finished every last drop. Great service, the bill was reasonable and location was fairly convenient. Such a cute place in the heart of Port Moody! A cozy warm brick interior, candlelight, random frames, plus famous paintings makes this place unique. With multiple areas, this would be a great place to host a large group. We were seated right by the window tucked in a corner, a large table for two. You could call this place fancy, but it has that genuine feel where it's also casual and relaxed. There are lots of choices on the menu, with a good mix and seafood and meats, as well a small selection of pastas. Certain plates lean towards a French style preperation. I got a grilled AAA ribeye, done medium, and the boy got a pork tenderloin schnitzel. These came in large plates, with a generous serving of veggies (bok choy, broccolini, asparagus, and beets!) My steak was absolutely delicious. A light herb rub and a red wine demi completed the dish. The meat was cooked just perfect to my liking. This also came with oven roasted potato wedges. Got to try some of the schnitzel, and the mushroom demi cream on it was rich and flavourful. Then the finale: a great selection of daily desserts, from creme brûlée to hazelnut cheesecake. We got a sticky toffee pudding to share. The pudding was spongy, and absorbed all of the caramel sauce's goodness. A scoop of vanilla ice cream made it even better. Servers were extra friendly, and there were minimal interruptions. As a result, our meal turned into a great experience. We went there for dinner. Food is great. Their last reservation time is 8:30pm during week day and 930pm for weekend. Once you go in, they will let u sit as long as u like. The server serves with pleasant smile. The red ambience light is a bit strange to me. However it does give the store a mystery feeling while eating there. I would say it's 4.5 star. Five star if the price is a bit lower. Average dinner entry is around $25 to $30. Pasta dinner entry is around $18. Appetizers are around $10 each. The place is more suitable for 2 ~ 4 people group. Our party of 9 people is kind of weird eating in this place. Over all, satisfactory. Too bad there is no burger available for dinner time. I didnt realize until we were well underway that each restaurant had donated all of the food, making it a big fundraiser, and a huge success The highlight was St Street Grill - first an amazing appetizer plate with a scallop, a vegetable wrapped assortment wrapped up, and the best tuna tartare ever! We contineud on through the other restaurants and returned for dessert - it was as if they wanted each and every one of us to HAVE to return for more! A large soft layer on the bottom, topped with spun sugar, justting out, (think creme brulee for torched sugar) and then topped with two round balls, one on top of the other - visually gorgeous, and it tasted every bit as good as it looked! Once again, head and shoulders above the rest of the class in Port Moody, and really for miles and miles around! We were in Port Moody for a Sunday concert featuring the R&B Allstars in Rocky Point Park. Decided we wanted to have a nice meal. I hadn't been to the Saint St Grill for years since I moved from North Burnaby years ago. Well...it's better than ever. We had an absolutely excellent meal. The chef here really knows his stuff! Started with a shared beef carpaccio which was excellent. It was topped with herb infused toasted pano crumbs and fresh mustard seeds which added crunch and "pop" to make the dish different and exceptional. My wife loved her bourbon/maple infused duck breast and my braised beef was fall-apart good. Dishes were beautifully presented and the host/waiter (Jay) made the meals even more enjoyable with his personality, knowledge and obvious love of fine food. Everything was excellent and my wife wants to return for our anniversary.
