Several things: 1. Progress reports are only shared every 4 months so you have no idea where your child is or what they need to work on. 2. Automatic billing in a month in advance so you cannot do anything if you are displeased. 3. Do not miss a class... ever, Saint Street will not allow you make it up, move your schedule or get a refund. 4. There are no clear goals or timeline to move on. It's their discretion so you just keep showing up, paying and hoping. 5. Three kids to an instructor so your kid actually only gets about 8 minutes of instruction and then the rest is them sitting on the side. 6. My daughter has been swimming with Saint Street for 5 years since she was 3 years old and she's been progressing really well from one level to another. After 5 years, I put her for a swim team evaluation with one of the best swim team in Houston and she got accepted! YEY! The Saint Street Swim team could use some consistency. I've found that Ariel is the only person that can solve any issues or even accurately answer questions, but most importantly he does it professionally and with a smile. Coach Austin is nothing short of amazing. My children love him. He is patient, kind and a great teacher for children. I will only mention names of staff I've had a positive experience with and will refrain naming the female coach that seemingly didn't care to train and just went through the motions or the front office staff that either doesn't know the company's processes or are just rude. Both my husband and I grew up in the heat of the Houston summer and spent all our days of childhood in the pool or in a wet swimsuit waiting to get back in the pool. Stupid 30 minute rule. So when my daughter began to go to the pool and not even get off the steps it was a big "Oh heck no" moment for us. (She's 4) I signed her up for the two week immersion program based on the suggestion of other moms. By day two my child was going under water and kicking her way back to the steps. These are things she would have NEVER done with the prodding of myself or my husband. Two weeks later, she is "waterproof" in the sense that I have no fear of her drowning from falling in the pool and she has the base for future learning of strokes and more. Lessons are maxed out at 4 kids per teacher. Lessons are typically 30 minutes long. One on ones are offered. Mommy and me type classes are offered for kids under 3. Teacher led courses are offered for kids over 3. My daughter loved Ms. Erica! Thanks Saint Street will be back for more lessons. read more

We love Saint Street! My son went from scared in the water and not swimming at all to swimming like a fish in a blink of an eye. I don't honestly know when it happened because all of a sudden he was swimming. All of the teachers are incredibly patient. We have had several of them because we have switched our class day + moved up in levels. Their facility is always very clean and well maintained. Our of our 4 extracurricular activities this is always the son that my son looks forward to and wants to come to. They also handled the COVID crisis incredibly well. The other 3 activities we signed up for cancelled classes with no refunds which was understandable. But Saint Street is offering credits for all the classes we missed. I fully recognize that this was likely not an easy financial decision but it definitely stood out to me and is appreciated. I could not recommend more!!!! read more

I wanted to love this place, but their customer service is severely lacking. My grandmother got us a "gift certificate" for $84 thinking it would get us 4 classes for my 1 year old daughter. When I called to set up our first one, they said $40 would be used for the registration fee so the gift certificate would get us 2 classes - ok fine. The first class last week was ok, basically felt like they just work on getting the babies comfortable in the water. Well today I woke up with a stomach bug and tried to reschedule - they said "it's just a missed class with no make ups allowed" ok, so my grandmother paid $84 for one class? That's robbery. My son has been with Saint Street Swim for about a year and a half. He continues to make great progress. He loves his coaches, and he's always excited to go. I'm always surprised to see what he can do next. We went to Cancun almost a year after he started, and he was a fish in the pool and loved playing in the ocean. He was doing flips underwater, about 3 in a row. He loves diving for rings. The place is very popular, so it's hard to get the class times you want, but they are very kind and very helpful with waiting lists. My two girls (age two and four) have both been taking lessons for about a year and a half. We have LOVED our lessons at Saint Street. Our older daughter was scared when starting, and her confidence has improved significantly throughout the lessons and she's wanting to practice outside of lessons - she is learning a lot and is also safety focused thanks to the teachers there. Both girls are pushed to learn but the lessons remain fun and they are excited to go every week. Both girls have thoroughly enjoyed swimming and I appreciate how caring but firm and consistent all the coaches have been, as we've moved times and had multiple different coaches. The addition of the changing tents is much appreciated, especially as a parent who is in the pool with a little one. I was very excited to do swim lessons with my young toddler, the first class we attended I observed the front desk staff to not be very friendly but I overlooked this and told them it was our first class etc. I arrived very early because it was our first class but I did not need to do anything so we went upstairs to wait for 20 minutes for our class to begin. Well upstairs is also an office for management. There were people in the offices and not 1 person said hello or was even friendly in the least. It was very awkward. Ok so again first class I guess these people are very busy. On to class....the instructor Tina was nice and the class was pretty fun for my daughter. I really thought I would like this place. After a few classes I noticed we were doing the same exact routine every week. I understand this is just a class to get the children used to water but it became very monotonous every week. But, this is not the reason I am given 1 star. A few weeks ago my daughter and I were a little early for class....I guess you have to wait upstairs or go hide in the bathroom if your more than 5 minutes early. I DID NOT KNOW THIS. So my 13 month old and I were siting watching the earlier class finish up and I guess the Manager, some man who has never said hello he just always walks around looking like he has a chip on his shoulder, saw me, gave me a weird side eye and went and spoke with the very sweet lifeguard on duty. She then came over and told me I could not wait there. She said today it was fine but it is the policy that no one can wait on these benches. Ok so at this point I was very uncomfortable and my daughter and I went into the bathroom to hide for 5 minutes until our class was ready. This just left a very bad taste in my mouth. I can not deal with poor customer service. The manager "Boss" could have easily just explained to me the policy and I would have felt differently. I was embarrassed my the way he handled the situation. I paid for November and have not been to the past 2 classes and will not be back. I really wanted to love this place, it is convenient to my home and I do like the facility. The management is just so rude plus I want my daughter to actually learn how to swim and survive if ever she got into our pool. I am not looking into an ISR swim rescue program. read more

Saint Street Swim has been an awesome experience for us! Our two boys now 4 & 5 have been going for the past two years. They went from puddle jumpers to being able to safely swim on their own. During the school year, we have taken weekly lessons. In the summer, in addition to your weekly lesson, you can sign up for intensity sessions where you will have daily lessons. M-F we really noticed a huge improvement and boys boys advanced to the next level. Everyone at the front desk is super helpful, especially Claudia and Taylor. I am continuously surprised by how bad customer service at this place is. While the Front desk staff might be bubbly, they are not competent at their job. They stopped my daughter from going to the math and as we were too early to walk along the pool deck. How can you tell that to a three year old. I love love love this swim school for many reasons. I have taken my daughter here for about 3 years. The only reason we are leaving is because we moved about a year ago and the commute is just not making sense for us anymore. I will try and be as detailed as possible (usually not my thing). I tried other places, especially right after we moved, but I kept coming back. Reason 1.) the coaches are so amazing and caring. We had coach Tina First, then coach Steven, and then back to coach Tina. Both are just amazing. I started my daughter at just under 3 years old, and she really progressed with her swimming. She has no fear of the water, and she has a great foundation. She can float, breathe, backstroke, swim under water, and is working on her freestyle. Reason 2.) I took her to another popular swim venue, and they dropped her in the water with a bunch of kids and said "swim" to test her level. She's shy. She acted like she didn't know how to do anything and they put her in beginner 1 lol. So, back to Saint Street. I love the individualized attention, even in the group lesson setting. They always know your child by name and know what your kid is capable of. Reason 3.) Parental Comfort. Haha! This is an important one for me because I had a second baby while my first was in swim lessons. Another swim place I shopped wanted me to stand outside (in the hot sun) with my baby stroller (and my crying baby) 3 feet from the pool just in case something happened to my swimming child. No. Get a lifeguard. I went right back to Saint Street Swim to my air conditioned observation deck. If you want to be right there with your swimming child you certainly have that option, especially when they roll up the glass doors. It's a very pleasant atmosphere. I enjoyed our years at Saint Street and hope to find something tolerable (if not comparable) on my side of town. read more

Although there are some things I would change (I arrive and leave in my swimsuit because the change room is small and crowded, there have been some miscommunications/difficulties in scheduling), this school deserves 5 stars because of the quality of the lessons and instructors. Because the structure of the lessons remains the same, my son (nearly 2) knows what to expect and it's been wonderful to see him gain confidence and improve. We love Saint Street. All the coaches we have worked with (Patrick, Gabe, and Ryan) have been patient yet firm, and my two boys (initially ages 3 and 4, now ages 4 and 5) who used to cry about going into the water are now little fishes--they are excited about their lessons, aware of water safety rules, and feel comfortable doing new things (diving/going in the deep end). It's been great for us. We are moving 20 minutes away and my kids are insistent I drive them back to Saint Street in September so that they can continue with Saint Street. read more

Best swim staff ever! We started going to Saint Street a couple of summers ago, and even though the lessons are only weekly, I was pleasantly shocked at how quickly my kids learn to swim! My 4-year old has been going for a semester now and is swimming the length of a pool, learning the back stroke, diving for rings, you name it! Coach Ryan is the BEST! I call him the Swim Whisperer, because he is soothing, kind, patient, and teaches my kids to swim! Saint Street swim has been an amazing place for all three of my children to learn how to swim. My two oldest boys 7,6 have been going for the last 3.5 years. Their progress during that time has been wonderful to witness. My 2 year old has been attending for the last year. They all love to swim now and I attribute it to our time there and the skills they were able to acquire. Over the years they have been students with a variety of teachers who know know what they are doing. They truly teach effectively all levels and all abilities. Well after driving from 610/I-10 to Sharpstown for two weeks straight I had to find something closer to home. The things you do for your kids. My daughter had been taking swim lessons and fortunately the next level was all booked up, which forced me to do some more research on swim lessons and I stumbled upon Saint Street Swim. My first thought, it being ITL it would be all booked, but to my surprise they had a couple of slots open so I took them faster than it takes to drive to Sharpstown. The instructors are great with the kids and it looks like they truly love to teach. It takes a special person with patience to be able to coach a bunch of kids to swim. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting their kids to learn how to swim. read more

Our coach (Tina) was great. I have nothing but good things to say about her and that is obviously very important when you are looking for a swimming school. But every other aspect of this business is a nightmare. 1. It's very difficult to schedule classes. There is no online registration or even the ability to see what classes are available at what time. You have to call the front desk and hope they can find a spot for you. If not, you can join a waiting list for specific days and times, but you have no way of knowing when a spot will be available. We had to switch classes due to a conflict and there were literally no other spots. 2. There are no makeups. If you miss a class you lose the money. I knew that going in, but it's still frustrating. It's not just that I don't like wasting money. I don't want other parents bringing their sick kids because they don't want to lose the money. 3. The facility is SO small you aren't even allowed to come in until 5 minutes before your class. This leads to a ridiculous traffic jam around the front desk and poolside. Trying to navigate this with a toddler is a nightmare. The "changing room" is tiny and gross. There are only two stalls, which take up nearly half the room. Needless to say it gets very crowded and difficult to maneuver. 4. The parking is also a hassle. I've never not been able to find a spot, but a lot of it's a good walk away. Again, if you can't come inside until 5 minutes before class, it's a mess with everyone coming in and out at the same time. All in all, I would definitely not recommend Saint Street Swim for parents of toddlers. It's hard enough to get around with a 2-year-old without all these added inconveniences. read more

We love Saint Swim . We started with my daughter here about 5 years ago and now my son enjoys the class as well! Despite what others have experienced, I've never encountered rude staff,all have been pretty friendly. Although the instructors and lessons are great,there is always room for improvement! 1. Restrooms could be larger 2. Maybe a play area for siblings waiting 3. It would be awesome if the observation area were much closer, its a bit difficult to see your child swimming 4. Brighter colors (colors are so dull) 5. I love the system Pengu swim has. Its so cheery and modern. Horrible Place! My toddler and I got kicked out of a class because my credit card expired and the automatic payment didn't go through.They already had given our spot to someone else who showed up for the class. They only allowed 4 toddlers per instructor so we had to get out of the pool and leave. They said they left me a message which I never received. The staff is rude and have NO customer service skills at all. There are not make-up classes and you still have to pay for the entire month. In reality, we should have left a long time ago but things came to a head this week and the decision became clear. Our year using Saint Street Swim has been riddled with customer service disappointments. These frustrations are constantly compounded by a front desk that is disorganized and a set of billing policies that are sketchy at best. While we spent the year disregarding these concerns, being told that I wouldn't be able to speak to the owner who was present in the building at the time because he doesn't communicate directly to clients is unacceptable. Twice I sent messages asking to be called back only to receive a note telling me that concerns must be submitted in written form if I expect to receive a response back. As was written in one of the messages, the lack of concern for the customer experience seems to be a top down issue starting with the owner. Long story short, we appreciate getting a refund retroactive to the first of the month, but we won't miss Saint Street Swim when we start classes at one of their competitors next week. read more

Coach Tina was awesome but she has moved so we've had multiple coaches since then. Tina just had an instant connection with the kids, was always pleasant & knew how to adequately push them without pushing too hard or too much. We miss Tina very much! The restroom is pretty small. There's only 2 restroom stalls so if you're potty training a little one (or have a young child who can't hold it very well) then your best bet is to pack a potty in the car & let him/her handle their business out there in the car. I dread going into the restroom to change my child because it's cramped and always hot. Some days I just throw a towel on my child & drive home in wet swim clothes because I can't handle being in that hot & crowded restroom or unventilated cabana. They have added 3 changing cabanas to help alleviate the cramped restroom situation but the pool area is ridiculously hot. I am always sweating when I come here so I dressed appropriately (i.e. workout clothes that dry fast). There is a TV screen upstairs so the parents can "see" the kids swimming below but the quality is awful. My child said one of the male coaches looked like a female on that poor quality TV & I had to agree with that statement. You have to get there early to grab a front row seat, settle for the terrible TV screen or stand outside in the heat & sweat. I have opted to stand outside & sweat just to see my kid in the pool because I find that TV screen to be useless when it comes to seeing my child. There are plenty of chairs upstairs but the second row of seats are not viewer friendly. The glass window isn't low enough for the back row to see the entire pool & it's very awkward to be hovering over the people in the front row to try to get a glimpse of your kids. I believe a lower glass window with slanted seating like a stadium would be more viewer friendly but what do I know. Perhaps a more immediate solution would be to upgrade the video cameras and/or TV screen so the swimming classes can be viewed in HD? These are the things you might want to consider before joining Saint Street. There are no make-up classes if you're sick or out of town. Turnover is a little high so don't get too attached to a teacher. Sweating is pretty much guaranteed...there isn't much cool air relief inside Saint Street even during Houston's scorching summer days. Bathroom is tiny. Parking lot is also small but street parking is allowed & another small lot is available. They bill a month in advance & if I recall correctly...each month is the same amount despite some months having no classes because of the holidays. read more

We have had a wonderful experience at Saint Street Swim over the last 4 years! Both of my girls started there at 2.5 years old and quickly became comfortable and confident in the water. It is amazing to see even tiny toddlers jumping in and pulling themselves back up onto the pool deck, swimming underwater through rings and kicking their way back to the wall--my husband and I would never have been able to accomplish that on our own. The coaches are uniformly wonderful with the children and inspire a lot of confidence. The program is very very busy, with long wait times for classes, and is geared more towards smaller children (i.e. water safety as opposed to formal stroke instruction/swim team) but that is their specialty and they do it well. As my eldest daughter is now ready for more formal swim team prep, we are moving on to another program, but we leave Saint Street with sadness--they have served us incredibly well. read more

I recently enrolled my one year old daughter in the family and fins swim classes at Saint Street Swim. Our coach Ryan is beyond AMAZING! He is super sweet and really takes an interest in his students. My daughter absolutely adores him. The classes are small which allows for a lot of one on one interaction between the instructor and students. The facility is nice and conveniently located. The facility and pool are heated, although the pool could be just a tad warmer. I have to admit, I have forgotten my daughter's non-disposable swim diaper on more than one occasion and the girls at the front desk were nice enough to let me borrow one. My only complaint is that there are not enough changing benches or dry areas in the locker rooms, which makes changing a toddler extremely difficult. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience at Saint Street Swim and would highly recommend this facility to any looking for a swim school. read more

We've been swimming here since my 7 yr old turned 2. Both the 5 and 7 yr old are always happy to go to swim class. The current teachers have each taught both and they joke around with them before class. The desk has always accommodated us and they're swimming at the same time / night. The changing rooms can get pretty crazy because it's not a big facility. Probably a bit on the pricier side but it's so centrally located. Everyone is very professional and takes their job seriously. read more

Both of my kids have been taking swim lessons here for a couple of years and we have really enjoyed it. We have had some wonderful teachers over the years (Mr. Ryan, Mr. Casey, Ms. Tina, Ms. Liz, and many others). I really like the small class sizes (no more than 4 kids per class) so they get individual attention. The parking lot is small but I've never had a problem finding a spot on the street close by. My kids have had swim classes at peak times 4 and 5 PM and while it did get crowded, I was always able to find parking. I know some people don't like that they can't select classes and times online for registration but whenever we have needed to change schedules, I just call the front desk and they will search for availability. Because certain times are very popular, I've been on the waiting list until a spot opened up for a particular time. The front staff is very good about contacting me whenever a spot opens up or to propose different options. Overall, we've had a really good experience here at St. Street Swim and I would definitely recommend it. read more

I am so disappointed with our experience with Saint Street Swim. I was hopeful for a better outcome but came to realize that every negative comment on here is not only true but understated. The front desk is a cluster, the protocols are not client friendly and the manager (maybe owner) Chad is at minimum rude and likely the root cause of most of the issues. Chad is even more dismissive of client concerns in person as he is on here. - I tried to take my child to the restroom a few minutes prior to the strict 5 minute rule and was told not to enter the swim area. I gave the options of either making an exception or letting her pee in the lobby. Needless to say I didn't wait for an answer. Don't give me the line about safety Chad, you need to make accommodations when you are working with toddlers. - The front desk is a mess. - Parking is a mess. - The change areas are tiny and are unclean. - The manager is unwelcoming of client contact/feedback. read more
