I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews! The food was amazing! I came here for dinner with two friends. They have a bar, options of ready made food, or you can order from a menu. The counter of food has rice, yellow rice, chicken and pork stew, and spaghetti. All looked delicious and ready to eat and the service was amazing! They were attentive, polite, and answered all my first timer questions about Dominican food. My friend and I sat down and took a look at the menu. We ordered: 1. Mangú con longaniza, huevos, y queso frito. Mashed plantains served with grilled red onions served with spicy pork sausage, fried egg, and deep fried cheese. It was so delicious! I'm so happy I ordered this dish as my introduction to Dominican food. I even got to take some home and enjoy it again later. 2. Pargo rojo a la parrilla/ Grilled red snapper. The fish was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Also a large portion. 3. Tres leche cake - 3 milk cake. My favorite dessert! I had to remind them when we were paying at the end for the slice so I took it home. Not sure if it would have tasted better if I ate it right away but it was in my fridge for a day before I finally got to it. The cake was a bit too sweet and the cake was already a bit dry. I still enjoyed this dessert. Highly recommend this place!

It was nice to try the food out from here. I've never had any of what I got before. I ordered delivery and got the sajhomafongo, the oxtails, and the morir sonando. I really enjoyed the sajhomafongo. They give you a big portion of it too. The oxtails were good, but I felt disappointed by the low amount of meat that you get with it. I guess that's maybe also the nature of the tails though; they don't have that much meat in the tails. They give a bunch of rice with the oxtails, but it wasn't particularly to my liking. I did like the drink, though, the morir sonando. If I had just ordered the oxtails, I'd probably given it a 2, whereas, if I hadn't, I'd probably given it a 4, so that's why I decided to go with a 3.

The food was nasty and dry. Definitely lacks the authentic flavor. Will never purchase from this restaurant again

Sajhoma is the best Dominican / Latin Caribbean restaurant in the DMV! My husband (who is half Dominican) and I love this restaurant. The food, the flavors are exceptional and you can't beat the prices. We love this restaurant so much, our rehearsal dinner was held here the night before our wedding this year. The owner and staff are really nice, friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we all had great service and enjoyed the food. Our families and friends who never had Dominican food, thoroughly enjoyed it. Always looking forward to returning whenever we're in the area. Thank you again Sajhoma, "Moreno" and amazing staff for taking good care of us at our rehearsal dinner.

    Pernil (pulled pork)

Haven't been here in awhile and they haven't missed a beat. I finally tried their ox tail and it is so tender! I also had their rice with gandules (pigeon peas), with tiny bits of onions, red & green peppers...I could eat the rice all by itself, it is that good! Also ordered the pernil (pulled pork), tender, moist and flavorful. Had a side order of maduros (sweet plantain bananas), soft and sweet. How I miss NYC with their many Latin restaurants all over but here in Maryland, much more difficult to find, especially a hidden gem of a place like this. If only getting here was easier especially on an Orioles game day, but the food is worth it. Try it...you will not regret it!

This place was AMAZINGLY Good! We are in town for the weekend and my boyfriend is Puerto Rican so we always look for Spanish restaurants while we visit new places. We ordered rice and gandules , pernil , baked chicken sweet plantains, beef and chicken pastelitos. The flavor was on point!

Good atmosphere, nice staff, food came out warm to cold. Looked good and smelled amazing, but the oxtail I ordered was not to my liking, too much fat, not tender on some pieces and not very tasty. My girlfriend ordered the beef stew and fried snapper. Snapper was hot and delicious, stew was not hot, a bit salty, but was flavorful. The rice and peas tasted good, but that too was not hot. Not sure if I would visit again, will leave another review if I do.

I was completely thrilled to hear there was another Dominican Restaurant in Baltimore, so I rushed to try this place. The decor is modern and the inside space is fairly large. Has a contemporary New York-ish feel with splashes of pictures of the beautiful DR countryside displayed around. In terms of food, Sajhoma has some serious work to do. With a picky Dominican husband who's has aunts, uncles and grandmas that cook their a** off, I'm sorry to say, I was really disappointed. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt...They are new here in Baltimore but remember, Baltimore foodies are just as profound as New Yorkers, eh hem... So hopefully they will get "it" together sooner rather than later. Flounder- dry as the hills. Heat lamp made the fish in-edible. Mofungo & Pastilitos - dry as the days are long. The inside had good flavor but was lackluster. The shrimp left some desire for seasoning. The beans, I mean, if you're Dominican, beans are a big thing. They were, meh. Come on Sajhome, REPRESENT!

Excellent! Authentic Dominican food with daily selections and weekend specials. Dinein with full service wait staff and bar. The staff and chef are friendly and nice. The chef came and had a conversation with us after dinner. Great atmosphere and perfect location in FellsPoint. Must try a must eat. Best Dominican food that I have tried since living in Baltimore.

Dulce tres leches .... wow flavor.

Excellent family Restaurant , original Dominican cuisine. Prices are very good with a first class service! Half block away there's a public parking lot or you can park on street. I strongly recommend you shrimp mofongo, you will love it .

Delicious. The stew beef and chicken was marvelous. Really reminds me of New York Spanish food.

I Feel Blessed & Grateful That I Came Across It. This Is Authentic Dominican Food Made By True Dominicans, And You Can Taste The Love In Every Bite. It Really Brings A Piece Of The Island Right Here To Maryland Just Minutes From DC . Parking Is Limited, But There Are A Few Spaces Directly In Front Of The Restaurant. The Space Is Small & Intimate, But Very Welcoming. It's Only Been About A Year Since They Opened, But It Feels Like A Place That's Been Around Much Longer Because Of The Love And Energy Inside. The Customer Service Here Is Top Tier!! It's Owned By A Husband & Wife "The Medinas" They Are Truly Special. So Warm, So Kind, & So Genuine. They Make You Feel Like You're Being Welcomed Into Their Home For A Meal. The Service Is Full Of Love & Care, You Can Feel Their Passion In Everything They Do. That Alone Would Bring Me Back... The Rice Was Cooked Just Right With The Perfect Amount Of Salt. The Red Beans Were Rich, Flavorful, & Surprisingly Had No Meat, Which I Loved. *So Many Places Add Pork, But Here They Automatically Cater To Different Dietary Preferences Without Sacrificing Flavor.* The Grilled Salmon Was Cooked Exactly How I Requested, Honestly Even Better Than I Expected. The Attention To Detail Was Impressive. And Of Course, The Avocado Brought Everything Together For That Perfect Final Touch, I Left So Full & Satisfied. EXTRA SIDES: TOSTONES WITH GARLIC Double-Fried, Flattened Plantains Lightly Salted And Topped With Garlic Oil (I Requested This And They Delivered). So Good & Perfect With The Rice & Beans.
