As far as the food, it was okay at best. The conch were too fried. It seemed like they fried them in old grease. There was not nearly as much conch inside the conch fritter. The pikliz was the best thing. The rice and peas was not authentic. The fried turkey was dry and had no flavor. The fried meatball was really good. BUYER BEWARE: I just visited Sak Pase 2, I am very familiar with the establishment. This is a newer location, and maybe things have changed...drastatically. I ordered a tassot cabrit simple but there is no such thing here, just a SMALL side of tassot cabrit with pikliz, no plantain for $15?! The pikliz was dry, there was no liquid in the container whatsoever. I unfortunately can't come back for the reason of no Simple options, and the side was very small. Driving away, I definitely felt as though I have buyer's remorse. To add, the order totaled $14.97, I tendered $15 in cash and no change was given, with no explanation and personally I don't like when any business does this. Say you don't have the change, don't take it upon yourself to round up my total and keep the change, especially if you don't provide the same courtesy to paying customers who may be short a free cents. read more

A great new Haitian restaurant coming to the area right off exit 12. It was a delightful experience. Cassandra was so graceful with me. I was losing my voice and it was a little hard to speak, but she had so much patience with me over the phone. Arriving the the restaurant, all I had to do was pay and I was handed my food maybe two minutes later. I called in when I was 12 minutes away. I ordered a Curry Goat & White Rice. It came with perfectly cooked vegetables, a delicious lentil soup. (I think, it was free, I didn't ask for it.) I assumed after a while the soup was offered to me for free because it was obvious I was sick. The ambiance is calm and comforting. You don't feel uncomfortable to just be there or have conversations. When I was exiting, the man who handed me my food ran to the door to open it for me because my hands were full. First time here... picked up lunch to go. We had two types of patties: chicken, and herring-- wonderful light, fluffy crusts. My wife and I shared these, as well as the Trio Friday Platter. They also offered a pumpkin soup special that was amazing, and in a hearty helping that we enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. While I was awaiting my order a group came in for lunch, and clearly were regulars that were greeted enthusiastically and brought out their drinks without even ordering yet. The pikliz is very tasty, but surprisingly not very spicy... they were happy to give me a whole scotch bonnet pepper to augment mine. Apparently this is a new expansion for the company, which has a location in Goulds that's been there for many years. They offer some interesting items in addition to the authentic Haitian fare... I think I'm going to have to come back to try their macaroni au gratin and the "Fire" burger that's made with three types of hot pepper! And, certainly we'll return here to pick up dinner rather than lunch some time soon. read more

This is an excellent place to eat some good Haitian food! If I could give it more stars I would because 5 isn't enough. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, spacious, bar area clean. The place is well decorated. Even the bathroom was clean Our sever Dominique was very friendly, attentive, and able to answer any questions. She had a fun, bubbly personality. The chef/owner also stopped by the table to talk to us. He was so nice and welcoming. Everyone made us feel right at home. As a Haitian restaurant, I am very pleasantly surprised that we received salsa and chips as a complementary appetizer. Haitian restaurants never provide appetizers. The salsa was home made and had just the right amount of spice. The tortilla chips weren't salty and were fresh out the fryer. Appetizer: we had the akra. The portion was generous and it was really tasty Entrees: I had the griot and banane. It came with a side salad and pikliz. I also chose to get a side of macaroni gratin. My sister had the boulette with banane and also had a side of macaroni. These boulettes were crispy on the outside and moist inside. Well seasoned. Last boulette I had was so Dry but not this one. Also the banane was thin and crispy just how I like it. Our mom originally wanted the legume with boeuf with diri blank but the chef came out and let us know that there wasn't any more beef. She really appreciates that because a lot of Haitian restaurants would have just still given the legume without the beef and not have said anything. The chef made other suggestions of other food options. She opted for the fried tassot with rice and beans. She also enjoyed her food. In conclusion ALL of the food that we had was very tasty and well seasoned. All the portions were huge. The pricing was also very fair for the amount of food you get and the quality of the food was great. Well worth the drive from Miami. This is definitely somewhere to bring others to eat and first timers who never had Haitian food. I can't wait to go back.
