    Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl yuck!

The was the owner responded to my review says it all. I will never spend my money there.

Welcome to Haiti bowl - packed flavor, well-seasoned, & tender pork (without fatty bits), fluffy rice, and nicely cooked sweet plantains!

I'm in Miami for this weekend, and I've been craving some good hatian food. Since I didn't feel like driving all the way to Naomi's Kitchen, I looked for somewhere closer and settled on visiting Manjays! Going in, the restaurant is tucked inside a place called The Citadel, which is beautifully lit and bustling with all kinds of food‑themed shops. If you wander a bit further, you'll even stumble upon a really cool antique store worth checking out. For dinner, I ordered 1x Welcome to Haiti bowl with griot, djondjon rice, and sweet plantains. Going into my review, this little spot truly impressed me in the best way! The Welcome to Haiti bowl was packed with savory flavor, well‑seasoned, and tender pieces of pork (without the fatty bits), fluffy black rice, and sweet plantains cooked to perfection. The portion was so generous that I even had leftovers for the next day. Overall, the food was fresh, satisfying, and an incredible value for the price (easily enough to share). For all these reasons, I'd happily rate my experience at Manjay a solid 5/5 stars!

I came here from TikTok recommendation. I ordered the griyo , rice and beans, and banana pazay. The griyo was tender and nicely seasoned. Very delicious and went well with the banana, pikliz and rice and beans. The rice and beans could use a bit more of the sauce that comes with it. The pikliz was not spicy at all. Some of us (I'm African) need spicy food to take the food up a notch. I understand catering to the public whose spicy tolerance may not be high, maybe make two batch. One spicy and one plain. I did not like the utensil being mental and out in the open like that. That was disturbing and please invest in some plastic utensils kept away from the public. I had to go to a near by restaurant to ask for plastic utensils. So I had to take a star away for these two items. Other than that the service was friend and the food was delicious.

Manjay Modern Caribbean at The Citadel is such a gem. I loved the cafeteria-style ordering--it made everything feel easy and inviting--and the decadence of the setting really elevated the whole experience. I ordered the Coco Loco Shrimp, sautéed shrimp in a coconut curry sauce, and it was incredibly flavorful and downright delicious. Everything paired perfectly with the sides: crispy plantain fries, banan payzay (fried plantain), and classic rice & peas. Comforting, vibrant, and full of Caribbean flavor. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Stopped in for a lunch with some friends after church and the pork griot at Manjay caught my eye right away. I'm a sucker for good Haitian food and Manjay did not disappoint. The people behind the counter were extremely nice and helpful. The food came out hot and was amazing. We had one griot with curry vegies and tostones and the other with legume. We preferred the curry vegies but the legume was also good. The overall ambiance at the food hall was nice with clean tables and ample seating. If you're in the area strongly considering stoping in for a bite.

I love Caribbean food so of course we found this place while in Miami. Located in a nice food hall, we ordered at the register and our food came out in decent timing honestly. We ordered the jerk chicken, jerk shrimp, and conch fritters. The jerk chicken was DELICIOUS and came with plenty of chicken. It was more on the breaded/fried side versus your usual grilled jerk chicken that you see but I actually liked it a lot. I opted to get my sides of rice and peas and plantains which went great. My mom got the jerk shrimp which she really enjoyed. Her only complaint was that she wished there was more shrimp but other than that she loved. Can't go wrong with conch fritters either. Service was nice, great music and vibes. Definitely some good Caribbean food!

I visited manjay for my lunch and this is great Caribbean fusion restaurant capturing different island spices and cuisine. The service provide was super fast as they prepare meal to order. There's great seating and refreshing ambiance. For lunch I had jerk chicken bowl. This came with a side of avocado salad, breaded fried chicken breast glazed with a honey & jerk bbq sauce with rice & peas. This was a great mix as the salad and spices and savory complimented the rice & peas. If you're in Doral area looking forward for a great meal at lunch or in the mood for a Caribbean fusion, this is a good option.

We were at the Citadel yesterday in the early evening and ordered the Honey Jerk Chicken Bites from Manjay. They were flavorful and delicious! We love Caribbean food, and this place is on top of their game. We were sitting on the rooftop and were able to order from different restaurants here at the Citadel. Our server was the delightful, Becca, who was efficient and friendly and knew what was good on the menu! We were happy campers with her selections. We will return very soon. Don't miss this one!

Loved this food hall! Wanted a quick bite of Haitian food! Found Manjay and I wasn't disappointed. Our order consisted of (Honey Jerk Chicken w Curry veggies & Griyo w Rice and Kola! Amazing service quick and fast and atmosphere was hectic due to going on a Sunday. Total spent was $42.96 Can't wait to Eat again! Great vibes !!

Had high hopes based on the reviews, but epic fail. Located in a food courtyard with other restaurants. I ordered the Griot with rice and beans, a side of the Diri Djondjon. First, not sure what Haitian flavors they are trying to create but definitely not traditional flavors. Portions were de ent, but I would assume so for the price. Again, I emphasize...if you are looking for that bold kickass Haitian seasoning/savory/soicy...look somewhere else. In addition, I order the above which encompassed 2 bowls of rice (dry), they gave me the small 1oz container of sauce/gravy. When I requested another one, they wanted $2...WTH? Would never return here. Has potential, but failed!

Honey jerk chicken and mushroom rice is amazing. Spicy sauce is a must. Plantation fries are not crispy so just OK.

The vibe of the space feels like they brought in the murals of wynwood to their interior design. The music selection was rap hit after rap hit, loved. We sat at the bar. Our server was Marcus. He was so helpful and attentive. Gave us his menu recommendations, which we followed suit. We ordered the duck dumplings and the sweet potato croquettes from the HH menu. From the regular menu, we ordered the bbq toro and the oxtail udon. The duck dumplings had a rich au jus, great. Our favorite app was the sweet potato croquette. Slightly sweet, a satisfying crunch, but soft in the center with tender brisket. The white bbq sauce and parm gave it a nice smoky nuttiness. Ordered another round, they were so good! The bbq toro had an amazing smokey flavor and a nice citrusy butter as the sauce. The cut was perfect. The oxtail udon was really hearty, and by far the best dish we had (though all the dishes were seriously incredible). It comes with a cured egg yolk, which they mix for you tableside. There was a good amount of oxtail in the dish and the udon sauce - bottle it for me please and thank youuu.

Sometimes less is more. I booked brunch for the Sunday after Valentine's Day. The reservation was confirmed, but then I found out they don't even open until 5 PM that day. How does a brunch reservation get confirmed for a time when the restaurant isn't open? I decided to give it another try this weekend and went at 5 PM to sit at the bar. The hostess told me there was a "Hungry Post" event happening. I asked about the price and she said it was $100 per person. Okay, fine -- but when I asked what the event included or what it was about, she seemed unsure and said it was "just a party" and that you just go in. No explanation of what was included, no specials, nothing. Charging $100 per person just to attend a "party" with no clear details feels odd and poorly communicated. I genuinely want this place to succeed because the food and drinks are great -- I just wish they would focus on that and improve communication and organization instead of trying so hard to be trendy.

Let's start with the mojito that came with such a large piece of sugar cane. It was so good! The waiter recommended my meal and it was delicious. The meat was tender and well seasoned. We had an early reservation that they couldn't find when we checked in. They told us we could only sit outside in 95degree heat (the inside of the restaurant was actually empty?) They did seat us inside once we showed proof of our reservation... Our server was a nice guy and sweet with our daughter. We ordered the ham croquettes, ropa vieja, and fried snapper. The croquettes were OK. The ropa vieja was not good. The flavor was very one dimensional, it just tasted like tomato paste. I didn't like how they plated it - ropa vieja in a dish on a plate, with a totally separate plate for rice and beans. It made the meal feel disjointed and small. The deep fried snapper was the most disappointing. It was snapper nuggets with a (Cajun?) seasoning on top. They tasted like catfish nuggets and nothing about that dish felt or tasted Cuban. The idea of plating it with the fish bone wrapped around had good intentions but it didn't land. Does it really make sense to call this dish "whole fried snapper" if it's served as nuggets? Rice and plantains came on a separate plate and they were fine. I expected a lot more from this meal, but maybe we had an off experience.
