Unagi Avocado Roll Hamachi Mango Roll

Had an amazing experience at MJ Sushi! I ordered the Hamachi Mango Roll and the Unagi Avocado Roll, and both were absolutely perfect. The hamachi was incredibly fresh and paired so well with the sweetness of the mango, creating a balanced flavor in every bite. The Unagi Avocado Roll was just as impressive--the eel was tender, flavorful, and complemented perfectly by the creamy avocado. The service as well very kind and Everything tasted fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and each roll was made with great attention to detail. The portions were generous, the ingredients were high quality, and the flavors blended together perfectly. The service was friendly and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Easily one of the best sushi meals I've had recently. I'll definitely be coming back! On top of the amazing food, the service was exceptional. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind from the moment I walked in. They made sure everything was perfect and created a warm, comfortable dining experience. Great food and great service can be hard to find together, but MJ Sushi absolutely delivered on both. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality sushi!

Delicious!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Even better than that, the service was incredible. Prompt attention and seated quickly. Food comes out so fast. Lots of attention while dining. The atmosphere is casual but well taken care of, with lots of couples and families enjoying their meals.

Ordered via Doordash late night. I ordered 3 decent rolls - the MJ roll left a good impression. The salmon avocado roll was alright for the price. However, the baked scallop roll was a disappointment. I've never had such a bad baked scallop. It was more like a baked plastic chip if anything. Very thin, chewy pieces of scallop. There are better rolls elsewhere...

Great local casual sushi spot! came here on a friday night and got seated immediately. Service was friendly and quick - the sashimi was very fresh and generous with the huge slices, i would come here again!!

In summary, great tasting sashimi, sushi, fried food.... No complaints! Thanks for the asahi! Simple decor & what I like most tables separated by ample space! Definitely a plus. As for food, see for yourself on these pics! A+ ratings for deluxe chirachi & soft shell crab; the rest is not far from that. Will keep coming back ! Opens till midnight!!! Bonus

Sooooooo I'm new to the amazingness that is MJ Sushi on the Bay Area. This is the 3rd location I'm trying (El Camino & San Mateo) and they all never disappoint!! Best quality sushi I've experienced in the Bay Area and honestly Top 3 overall period. Had some issues ordering online for pick up which resulted in me placing 2 orders....and o wasn't even made at it because it's delicious!!! Like really high quality Salmon and IYKYK how that can be a challenge at times. Shoutout to whoever owns the franchise, which I'm assuming are all the same people/family given the consistency in experience. I'll also say for a sushi spot, they have a nice little dine-in situation too. Told my hubby we need to go for a sit down date night soon - Mrs California Black United States 2026

Ordered via Doordash. Really enjoyed the cooked rolls: lion king and baked scallop rolls. The raw ones were okay too although fyi the CB roll and Mango tuna rolls are very similar. The monster roll was okay, I personally am not a fan of spicy tuna or shrimp tempura rolls. Cheap miso soup! Not the tastiest, it was okay.

My friends put me on MJ, and nothing here missed! The fish quality is amazing and the prices are reasonable. Their roll options are more limited than I'd like, but I still loved everything we got. I can't wait to come back! RECS: + MJ roll ($13.99, 5/5 stars) was sooo good. Loved the addition of mango here for sweetness + Warriors roll ($13.99, 5/5 stars) surprised me since I didn't think I'd like the seared salmon, but it was delicious with the imitation crab and tempura! + Tai carpaccio ($14.99, 5/5 stars) had an addicting sauce to dip in, and the red snapper was super fresh + Sahsimi deluxe ($49.99, 5/5 stars) is perfect to share and had the most buttery cuts of fish, and I genuinely enjoyed each fish here

Well this was a shitty experience, I walked into the restaurant alone, I was seated right away and then ignored for the next 15 minutes. Long story short I did not get served and once someone finally acknowledged that I was there I explained to them the situation about how I had been sitting there for 15 minutes and watched the tables around get service and not one waitress came to my table. I left and will never return nor recommend this establishment to anyone. ZERO STARS!

Quick service and definitely affordable price for sushi. I went here on a Monday night and didn't have to wait for seating. The place was filled up though. It's also great that they open until midnight! I enjoyed my time here and will definitely come back. Takoyaki - deep-fried octopus ball, hot and fresh. 49er roll - can't go wrong with salmon and lemon. Love the citrus flavor of it. Hot Mama roll - soft shell crab, salmon, house special sauce, and sriracha. It's spicy but not overwhelming. Interesting combo but delicious.

There is a lot of parking at this location.

One word GYOZA. They have the best gyoza and they are well priced. It's my favorite grab and go snack. My sons also enjoy their tuna rolls, rainbow rolls and other items. Today we ordered 3 rolls and 2 gyozas for pick up. Total was $60 and some change. There is a lot of parking (located inside a little strip mall).

The best bang for your buck place to go. Hand rolls are cheap, chirashi is at least $10 cheaper than other sushi places and fish is fresh. A bonus is they have a self service soft serve with vanilla, chocolate, or mix of Both like sizzler had back in the day so pretty cool. Must have been here at least a dozen times and will continue to come here for the friendly vibes and great food.

Great price and the food is quick. It's very tasty. The service used to be a little better, but still the servers are friendly. They have free soft serve at the end which makes for a very nice touch. The screens they play are hit or miss. I've seen violence sometimes, which I'm not thrilled about with my little ones - but usually they add to the vibe. I love the different options of sushi. I'm very simple and my husband usually adventures. Favorites for me: CA roll, Baked CA roll, gyoza, variety tempura (my kids favorite since there's no kids menu), miso soup, MJ roll, lion king roll, and a few others that I can't recall off the top of my mind. Love their later hours than most places in this area.

LENT 2026: GOOD FRIDAY LUNCH…read more The first time I ate at Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar was the last Saturday of February for my mom's birthday. We had a private room for the party. Out of food that was served I really enjoyed eating the sashimi, which was presented on a platter. I also liked grilled salmon. During Lent I wanted to come back to Toro for lunch. I thought about getting sashimi or grilled salmon when I came back. A couple days before coming to Toro for Good Friday lunch I looked at the menu online. Why pay for the dishes I ate before? One of the dishes that intrigued me was the baked unagi fried rice. However the baked salmon fried rice sounded enticing. Also one of the appetizers sounded interesting was the sashimi pizza. My plan was to order an appetizer and an entree for Good Friday lunch. On Friday when I got a table I looked at the menu. The lunch special listed unagi don. Then I started thinking to myself. Why do I have to eat only fish on Fridays during Lent? Vegetables are permitted during Lent Fridays. I looked at the salad menu and one item intrigued me was the avocado salad. Instead of getting a sashimi pizza for an appetizer I choose avocado salad. Knowing a salad would not be filling I ordered the crispy salmon skin roll. For entree I ordered the unagi don. I'll start with the crispy salmon. A lot of people don't like to eat crispy skin of a fish. I love it. The crispy salmon skin roll is a filling roll due to the sauce, which adds flavor to the rice. Instead of a roll I would like to see crispy skin salmon as an appetizer as it would be similar to a chicharron. Regarding the avocado salad I liked how avocado wasn't skimpy in portion. There's one thing I don't like in salad and that is water. I understand cleaning the lettuce to get rid of the dirt, but the lettuce better be dry instead of water dripping at the bottom on the bowl. I came here for the unagi don. I felt I made a right decision of ordering the unagi don instead of the baked unagi fried rice. With the steamed rice I could taste the eel whereas the fried rice would've overpowered the eel. The unagi don was a filling dish and I believe if I ordered a baked unagi fried rice I would have felt bloated. On this last Friday during Lent I enjoyed my lunch at Toro Sushi Stone Grill and Bar. I liked the sashimi that was served for my mom's birthday party than what I ordered during Good Friday. I can see myself coming here again. Maybe next time I try the stone grill items.

Ordering was quick and easy online right when they reopened at 5pm. Picked up 2 popcorn chicken bentos, fried tofu, and sesame balls with red bean filling (about $50 before tax and tip) and it was ready within 10 minutes. Service was nonexistent when I got there- no acknowledgment and the first girl behind the counter didn't even talk to me. The second girl next to her was eating something and came over to ask for my name before handing me my bag and then walking away. Unfortunately the food was very underwhelming and bland. The popcorn chicken was quite dry and the side dishes were lacking in flavor. The sesame balls were tiny and the red bean filling was minimal. The best item was the fried tofu but it wasn't anything special. Not a huge fan after this one and only experience.

We were lucky to snag a spot and were seated pretty quickly, even though they seem pretty busy. The service was quite good here; they saw when I dropped my chopsticks and replaced it for me almost immediately, and were very attentive to even just eye contact as a request for service. They also offered us a small dish complimentary edamame as a starter and a little scoop of free ice cream at the end, which was a wonderful touch. The food came out really quickly after we ordered. The sashimi was really good! The selection of rolls wasn't my favorite (a lot of them contained crab salad, which I usually don't go for), but I did like the agedashi tofu a lot. If you visit for lunch, they have a couple really great lunch special options. I have tried the 3 rolls for ~$16 combo, and it is definitely worth it. The rolls came out a bit messy and not quite uniform, but they tasted perfectly good. Overall, I would (and have) come back! It feels very much like a middle-of-the-road sushi spot with pretty agreeable pricing, and I think it's a good choice for a casual, unpretentious sushi meal.
