I'm actually sad to see SaksOff5th closing. I only used this store for returning items I purchased online and I never had an issue with returns or the service people. Yes, the lines could be long and the staffing was sparse, but that's retail shopping these days, especially at a discount operation. As for their online operation, sometimes the wrong item/size is shipped or items were lost in transit, but their merchandise was top notch and the sale prices were excellent. I purchased a pair of pants, it was full of wrinkles. I returned the item to them. But the store sent me back. When I call them back. They transferred my call to someone overseas. I always go in this store when I go to the outlets. I went there yesterday and I was in line to purchase some jeans. A white lady came up and stood out of line. The Asian lady at the counter called the next person but was looking directly at the white lady out of line, even though I was at the front of the designated line. I said I'm next and the Asian lady at the register completely ignored me. She proceeded to help the white lady. I was so appalled, I ended up leaving the jeans and walking out. I've never experienced such rude, racist behavior in my life. The store looks like shit as it is and with rude employees, I'm surprised it's still open. This Saks OFF 5th store is one of the best Saks OFF 5th stores I have visited in Northern California. Good location, better inventory, and well organized. A lot of Saks OFF 5th stores are going downhill or closed in the last couple of years. But this one in the Grant Mall is still doing good. Went to this store today and asked for assistance to look at some belts in a case . The store manager by the name of Karen came and we asked her if we could see the belts . She showed us but was said they're small that's why they're here , she was being biased, she was rude also saying can I get through instead of saying excuse me , she immediately shut the case and walked off instead of asking if we wanted to see something else . Later I saw her again asked her how could I get access to the restroom that was right there she snapped at me saying it was for employees and bathrooms were outside to the right .. her tone of voice was uncalled for in both encounters if she doesn't like her job she should get another one . There appears to be adequate items for sale and possibly many good values, but I can never stand to remain in the store long enough to shop due to the unpleasant odors that exist. It downright stinks most of the time. Today was one of the most odoriferous events. We made our way from the inner hallways of the mall and through the store as rapidly as possible and exited in to the relatively fresh air near the Olive Garden restaurant. I bought an item online. I wanted to return the item so I print out the return label and had the option to bring it into the store to return so I don't have to pay for shipping. The Asian manager there refused to take my return item and told me to ship the return back. So I had to mail it in and pay the shipping. Never going back there again. I visited this location to return some fairly expensive jewelry items which I purchased online and I must say the entire experience was exceptional. There's a dedicated line for "Returns" near the rear of the store and I waited in line for maybe 3 minutes before being helped. This is Excellent considering it's the Christmas Season. There is a somewhat good selection mainly for women, but prices are high even with the discounts. Every time I go here it seems just off. It's not clean and there are just random clothes and shoes everywhere. The shoe racks are dirty and dented beyond belief and there are often no employees around to help. When you do talk to an employee, it's very passive. I also had an encounter with the manager and he is horribly rude and has a nasty attitude. Every time I see him in there now, I refuse to walk in. Saks OFF 5th is a luxury brand and high end store catering in apparel, accessories, and luggage/handbags. With the reputation of quality products, the expectation for the store is on the higher side, but in recent trips I've been disappointed. I don't know where the quality began diminishing, but in recent visits, the store is very unkept and the shoe section isn't the easiest to navigate. Saks used to take up a good chunk of my time at the mall, I could and had spent hours looking at shoes with my mother or aunt, and looking through the althleisure and shoe section, but lately it has a bit of a cluttered look to it that reminds me of Burlington. It seemed to be a bit out of hand finding some things, but some sections are otherwise cleaner and neater. I feel like I am experiencing a different store each time I do visit. read more

Shady.... They take clothes from Saks that was on sale (lets say a suit marked at $999 was on sale for $499 at Saks), and Off 5th Outlet will rip off the price tag, put on their own, saying the suit originally cost $1395, but will mark it down to $899 in their outlet store. The ONLY good thing about their outlet is the 2, or 3 for 1 sale. Decent suits at a decent deal, but watch out for those shady practices. I was there earlier and noticed one of the tags and asked a salesperson about it. She said she would go talk to her manager. The manager told her to rip off all the tags with the original price on them. Well done..Lets make our customers THINK they are getting a good deal, but instead we will mark up the price from Saks, but discount it to only $100 less. read more

Better than Last Call for sure. The racks are tidier too. They have a billion times more jeans & some looked wearable...& score, they had a bunch of my favorite, True Religions! They also had to black logo Gucci bags. Didn't find any shoes here at all that were semi appealing to try on. Did find a lot of amusing faux pas though like shiny pleather looking leggings & an Oscar The Grouch green colored cocktail dress that looked so perfect for an elf costume for Halloween. This is a good Saks outlet. The store is very large and there is a lot to browse. They try to separate the racks out by the brand name which is nice. It feels a lot nicer browsing here than browsing at Last Call by Neiman Marcus despite the two stores carrying similar designer items. The Burberry section for women is quite awful. They have the ugliest and gaudiest coats that are still over $2,000. I would totally skip. Their clearance section is quite massive and requires some digging. I did find some rather nice items like a black dress from Marc by Marc Jacobs for only $80 (I would have gotten it if I didn't already have a closet full of black dresses). I almost got an Alice and Olivia berry shirt for $60 but ultimately decided that the fit was not worth $60. Their prices for items here (that aren't, like, Gucci) tend to hover around $30-$150 or so. My friend Tom got a nice men's Hugo Boss dress shirt for $80. read more

Seldom selection, but you can find a few cute items that are still priced a bit high, their discounts are nothing major, maybe 30 or 20% off original sticker price, and the items that are majorly discounted are the obvious UGLY ones. they have a very small kids section, and when I visited they were in the process of renovating. I have a huge love of designer shades and their selection sucks and often duplicated, and their glasses are SUPER FILTHY! I know its a discount Saks but at least clean them before selling them!! and often times they are scratched, so examine them carefully before deciding to purchase them! same goes for NEIMAN MARCUS Last Call. Oh and from reading the other reviews, I noticed lots of yelpers complain about their lack of customer service, I do somewhat agree, the younger staff are always UNWILLING to help, but the older ladies, like 60+ are very friendly and always asked if I needed any help. This store tends to be one of the more expensive retail shops in this mall, but their prices do truly reflect the quality of product that you receive for your money. If you aren't a person who is accustom to paying high prices for clothes, don't be deterred from shopping here, as they do offer many sale days throughout the year where you can purchase quite a bit of high end and name brand clothes at a fraction of their normal cost. I've come here quite a few times during sales and picked up $300-$400 worth of clothes to complete full outfits, but ended up paying less than $150 with taxes included. read more

On first glance, it looks like a small shop but the further in you go, you'll soon discover that its incredibly big. It has a lot of interesting things inside, I found a phone purse (I'm not kidding, lol), but if it wasn't for the holiday season, or more specifically: Black Friday, then you'll see that the original prices are ridiculously high -at least for my budget. Almost always I use Yelp to leave positive comments because I think people should be rewarded for doing a good job. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. I placed an order for over $700 online. I was not happy with over half the order and sent it back with their personal return label. My return has never been credited to my account. Including tonight's call, I have called nine times! Every time I am told the credit will post and to give them seven days. It's been three months. I spend a lot of money at this store and due to this experience I will never shop there again. I called tonight to find out about my return and spoke with a customer service representative who I could barely hear because of all the commotion in the background of the laughing and carrying on. I was put on hold for over 10 minutes while Phyllis looked for a supervisor. He could not find a supervisor in 10 minutes so my information was taken for a return call. When Phyllis did not ask my phone number I became concerned and stated how could someone call me back if they don't have a phone number. Phyllis then responded he had my number. I asked him to repeat my number and my phone number was incorrect. So after nine calls to confirm a return that should've been done three months ago they would've called an old number. I am so frustrated and angry. How can something like this happen? How is it possible for big companies like this to use their size to swindle and bully their customers. Shame on you Saks! #127 This place had great prices and a wonderful selection of merchandise. I was in kind of a jam to find a couple of dresses for me and a friend for a wedding we are attending next week. This was challenging for several reasons: 1) It is super hot where we are headed for this wedding 2) It is a very conservative ceremony 3) It is culturally different than anything in the good ol' US of A 4) I have to hide my tattoos 5) My friend "had" to have a purple dress Normally, shopping for a couple of dresses would be easier, but with all those restrictions it was challenging. We entered the store and went straight away to the younger girls dress section. There were tons of styles, looks, colors, etc. Seriously, the first dress I grabbed off the rack and said, 'Hey, do you like this one?" was a hit. #score Now, for me it was a bit more difficult. Again, it is hella hot in Israel this time of year AND I have to hide my massive collection of tattoos. Not an easy feat, as I am not into sweating like I'm in an Alabama heatwave in July, but I have to respect the culture and find something with some sleeves to cover my tattoos. I was here today around 2PM. I saw six associates on the sales floor, and they were chatting away with each other. There were eight other shoppers, and I didn't hear anyone being greeted. One of the shoppers asked an associate if the store carried Oscar De La Renta sleepwear, or if it was an online exclusive. The associate snapped, "We don't carry everything you see on our website! Our items sell out quickly!" and resumed his conversation with a co-worker. The store was organized, and the handbag selection was quite good. I saw plenty of Tory Burch, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Valentino, Saks Fifth Avenue, Furla, and Dooney & Bourke bags. All the handbags were 30% Off. There were lots of clearance racks, and I saw plenty of Tahari, Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein, and Matty M tops on clearance, though mostly in Larges. There was a "Buy One, Get One Free" sale for some of the blouses and tops. The shoe section was very tidy, and there were good discounts. Signs all over the shoe section read "Take 40% Off Lowest Ticketed Price" and "Take 50% Off Lowest Ticketed Price", depending on the section. I found a Calvin Klein tank top for $18.49, as well as both Saks Fifth Avenue leggings ($24.99) and tights ($14.99), but the purchase was not meant to be. As I looked around for a cashier, I saw an associate standing next to the register in the middle of the store. Another shopper was already approaching this same sales associate. This associate saw us two shoppers approaching, looked right at us, and she turned and walked away to talk with another associate in the jewelry section. I put my items back and left. This place is definitely hit and miss. Most times I leave the store empty handed and other times, I've got bags of stuff. This past visit while I was in town, I left empty handed. The only thing I almost grabbed was a scarf to match my Giants gear but thought better to spend $99 for a scarf to match my jacket....when I live in San Diego and rarely wear jackets let alone scarfs. Also, this past visit - and I don't know if this has been a standard for awhile, but 80% of their shoes are Saks branded shoes. I've never tried a pair of their shoes but was pretty disappointed in their shoe selection. Very disappointed. You never know what you're going to get when you're there...so it's definitely worth checking out. read more

3/23/13: There seems to be an inconsistency in service with Saks. The store in Folsom greets you as soon as you walk in, asks if you need assistance, and helps you out with whatever you need. Granted this location is fairly new, but people spend their hard earned money here... The least they could do is get the service right. That's the kind of standard that Saks 5th Ave is known for. I've been to this one several times already. There are door greeters that don't greet you, no one asks if you need help with anything, (I've spent an hour here one time and not one person bothered to assist me besides the cashier ringing my items.) The dressing room attendant is a straight joke. I come in there with two arm full of clothes (cause no one bothered to give me a in door shopping bag) she makes me carry it all to the dressing room, then tells me clothing item limit, makes me walk out of the my room to put put the rest of the clothes (that she should be taking) back to the outside rack. She actually made it a point to tell me that I need to re-hang everything I try on and that I can go get the rest of my clothes myself!! Seriously!???? One of the reasons I like shopping at department store discounters like Saks Off Fifth is the higher quality of merchandise, higher level of customer service and niceties like clean bathrooms inside the store. After stumbling onto an amazing sale with racks full of gorgeous designer goodies by Marc Jacobs, Akris, Alexander Wang, Theory etc at the Saks Off Fifth in Petaluma, I decided to see if I could find any more pieces at the store in Milpitas. I have family there, so I could kill two birds with one trip. The Saks Off Fifth in Milpitas is definitely the most run-down and disappointing Off Fifth I've ever been to, and I've shopped their stores in suburban Chicago and San Diego. They did have a very impressive jewelry display with names like Ippolita and Gurhan and lots of high-end watches. But if you go there for designer clothes, you'll be disappointed. I asked a sales girl about Alexander Wang; she said they didn't have any. I asked about Marc Jacobs and she said they didn't have that either. That turned out to be wrong; I found a rack in the far front corner of the store. And where was the buy one, get two free deal on the Black cashmere collection that advertised at the Petaluma store?? I found a couple pieces to try, but needed to use the restroom first. For some reason, the bathroom inside the Saks Off Fifth is blocked off and reserved for employees only. What kind of customer service is this??? A sales associate referred me to a bathroom outside in the crowded mall. That ended up being a 30-minute ordeal, as I wanted in line with about 20 other women and children to take a turn in one of TWO stalls. And of course, by the time I neared the front, one had run out of toilet paper and both were very dirty. I was already grossed out and pissed by the time I went back to Saks Off Fifth. The fitting room was another downer with dingy, scratched up walls and only one clothing hook; the other fell off and was never replaced. I was VERY pleasantly surprised by this place. I normally abhor discount places, (i.e. Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Nordstrom's Rack.) I love a good deal, but places like this are usually totally disorganized, and the good finds are few and far between. Not so at this place:) Everything is completely organized and sorted perfectly. For example, they have LOTS of Joe Jeans, and they are sorted by fit and size!!! I know, it sounds unbelievable, but I swear it's true! Not much here is cheap, it's still Saks. Although, if you're looking for designer jeans, they have a fantastic selection. You won't get the service you'd get at Nordstrom, but you will find a good variety of fits within each brand, (and they have a good variety of those too.) When I checked out, I was offered a discount card. It works like a Safeway card, you save money with each purchase. I ended up saving 20% off the jeans I bought. Sweet:) You will get some emails from them, but a lot of them have discounts, so it's worth it. I'm still unsure about my jeans, but I have 30 days to decide :) Service was pleasant, and a saleswoman in the dressing room even offered to bring me another size. Buy 1 suit get 1 free. That was the deal that Saks Off Fifth had when we drove down to Milpitas from SF. They have racks upon racks of suits to choose from From Versace to Burberry to Kenneth Cole to European designer labels. They had all sorts of designs and colors. Where they lacked in sizes they gained in labels. Suits need to be altered anyway. So no biggie with that. Saks also has a wide variety of "Additional 50%" racks as well as a great selection of jeans, handbags, perfumes and jewelry. At the register you can also get coupons for their next preview sale days. I couldn't find anything I liked but the BF walked out with 2 mighty fine suits, two for one. read more

Why pay full price for something when you can get the same item for a discounted price. I learned the hard way that there is no need to pay $200 for a pair of 7's or Trues. At Off 5th I have found the same jeans for between $80-$110. Off 5th often has a great selection of jeans, shoes, and purses. My kind of shopping heaven. Oh my, how times have changed. I think I witnessed the worse case of customer service ever. Misorganized racks, no one is sure what the price is, and people misleading consumers with a supposedly BOGO 50% off. The only reason I love going here and going to the Great Mall is because the fun of shopping is in the hunt. But after the cashier who was supposedly the manager... 1. alerting me that she didn't know if the box matched the shoes my friend was to buy, and that she would need the right price before she would sell it to us. 2. realizing the problem, and then also alerting us that they were understaffed it was management's fault. 3. also informed me that she was the manager in charge after the manager had left for the day. Really, you're pretty useless, unprofessional and pretty much a failure. 4. encountered a rightfully pissed off (now as I see it correctly) managed to lose her cool and shed her professionalism. 5. managed to make me feel stupid once I asked her about BOGO 50% off sale that her sales people were spouting at me as I walked in... We still walked out with her purchase. But the store was a #FAIL #FAIL #FAIL !!! I have to give 4 stars to this place. I was either born to shop or shop to be born again. I love not spending a fortune on clothes that normally cost a fortune, although I have spent a fortune once the tally is added up. Why pay more when you don't have to? I usually find something here. I like it better than Last Call because they have my size. I have yet to find a pair of jeans at Last Call in a size 24...that I like. You have to dig, but rarely does a steal hit you in the face.
