If yelp allows for negative star reviews, believe me I'd have rated the experience a negative. I have nothing against the store, but the employee interaction I had on Saturday, the 18th of June, was the worst I've experienced. On Saturday, the store had some kind of clearance sale on handbags, you get an extra 40% off on top of whatever discount the bag already had. Since I am about to take a vacation and visit some family friends, it was the perfect time to shop handbags for my gals. Their employees were hanging around the handbag section, trying to further promote their discount and Saks credit card, as well as their more card. It got to the point that their employees became very aggressive, telling me it was a great way to save if I just open a credit card (10% discount). When I kindly refused the offer, she went on to persuade me to open a More! card, saying it's free and I get promotions and discounts through emails. When I further declined the offer, she kept following me around, complimenting on every handbag I picked up to examine, and asking if I would like to know the price after all the discount. Now... I'm the type of girl who likes to shop without people hovering. It's one thing to shop with friends and ask for their opinion, it's another thing to have the store employee hovering around, keeping watch on me like I'm some thief about to steal their products. When I've made my selection and went to the register to pay, the same aggressive employee was there to ring me up. As she scanned the items in, she kept saying how I should open a More! card so I get more savings. Without waiting for my response, she went ahead and scanned a More! card. She even told me that I'll get further discount on today's purchase. Thinking I'll save even more, I reluctantly gave her my information to proceed with the card. But after I've paid and got my receipt, I noticed that there was no extra discount. So I went back and asked her about it. THEN she told me that if I'd opened the credit card, I'd get the 10% off. But with the More! card, I only receive email notification on any future discount or promotion. I was really pissed by then. I was already peeved by her aggressiveness, both when I was browsing around and when I was paying. I only opened the card because she said I'd get more savings on today's purchase, but it turned out that was just a lie to get me to open a card. Only when I went back to confront her did she explain more clearly. So I asked her to unsubscribe me or take me out of the system, which she did reluctantly. She scanned the card in, and pushed some buttons on the touch screen, then told me, "There, I took you off the system. Happy?" And what do you know... a day later I received an email welcoming me to their More! program. Now, if I want to think positive, I'd say maybe it was just a huge communication misunderstanding because the Asian employee can't speak fluent English. But even that can't excuse how aggressive that employee was towards me. How she scanned the More! card without my consent. How she kept hovering over me while I was browsing. If this is the kind of service I get, I'd rather go to other stores and pay more for the same bags. At least I'd get a friendly smile and helpful but not suffocating service. read more

Very high end merchandise! Every time (and rarely) when I'm at the Great Mall, I drop by in here and browse. One particular time, I was looking for a nice dress for a wedding. I know some of the dresses are very expensive (in thousands) but man are they ugly...it was hard to find a cute dress that wasn't too strange and odd colored/material. I found one but they did not have the right size. Limited sizing as this is an outlet. I was happy with my sunglasses! Michael Kors. Retail price $225. Mine for only 79.95! And they are still in season and on the MK website. I am guessing they carry in season items as well which is great. Large store, Good brand names. Designer jeans for men and women. They have outrageously priced eccentric home decor pieces though. I wonder if they actually sell. read more

I used to love Saks Fifth since I'm a big fanatic of designer sunglasses! They have a huge selection of sunglasses here (Gucci, Dior, Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Raybans...) than their neighboring NM Last Call or Nordy Rack. The only icky thing are the fingerprints (gross?!) that seem to be stuck in most of the glasses they have. Prices range from 89.99-139.99 and if you came during a sale, you might even get an additional 20% off. Now that I'm into premium jeans (Sevens and Rock and Republic mainly), I find that the price of the jeans here is still expensive compared to Nordy Rack. They do have more jeans selection but I'm a bargain hunter, so I couldn't care much about having so many jeans to choose from. Other than their sunglass & denim department, I don't really care much about the rest of the store. Btw... I bought a viva la juicy perfume here but the smell never lasted as long as the ones from the retail store. What's that all about?! Also, I usually put on my earphones even when I am not listening to music when I'm here because some of their sales associates just don't get it when you wanna be left alone. Employees don't want customers using the restroom, they have a fake sign saying out of order. I came here last month, same thing, a woman comes rushing out to tell me I can't use it. Same woman sitting in the next room monitoring it. I HIGHLY doubt that the toilets are flooded, being that everything has just been remodeled! In fact, I'm going to look up where I can file a complaint. It's fine to spend hundreds of dollars on the store, but no customer can use the restroom? This is where I go to hoard jeans. I honestly have never seen such a wide selection of Rock & Republics in a physical store. And at a discount too! So what if they're from last season? After this discovery, I vowed to never again pay full price for a pair of premium denim. Unless they are really pretty and I just have to have them. From what I witnessed while waiting to pay, their return policy seems to be pretty strict. Apparently, they don't accept anything with the price tags cut-off, even if you have the tags in your hand. I came to the great mall hoping to get inspired and find a bridal shower gift. I mean what do people actually get others for a bridal shower? Its not a bachelorette party or engagement party; I think those are a little easier to buy for. I stopped in to Off Fifth since it actually looked clean and organized inside. I hate having to rummage through racks and racks and racks of unorganized clothes. I found this really cute his and her item (have not given gift yet so I wont disclose). And it was half off!! I am glad I stopped in because I think it was unique and something they'll use for a long time. Anyways after picking my item I went to the registers in the middle of the store. I waited in the designated line that has an arrow and everything. Some lady came up on the other end and was helped first...?!?! Whatever it wasn't like the wait was THAT long. this is the most reliable place in the bay to find designer denim at not so designer prices. Avoid it in the afternoon - especially Fridays, unless you have the time to paw through a mountain of denim. i don't think they re-fold during the day. I've also seen great prices on designer scarves, and accessories. Like any outlet, you'll be happier if you just go in looking for a deal, rather than with your heart set on finding the perfect dress for an event. read more

Since my mom has a black card for saks I get to register another card under her account which gives me the same privileges as early vip access to saks fifth and saks fifth off fifth here at greatmall . Off Fifth is the reason why I ever walk into the GM. I just love their additional 50% off clearance racks! Just make sure to get there right when the sale starts. There are a lot of women who wait for these sales and chances are, they wear the same size as you. The front left of the store has an entire selections on jeans. (although me personally I'm completely over and done with purchasing Seven, True Religion, Rock & Republic, Joes jeans etc) But if name brand jeans are your cup of tea, they have a decent selection of them! Look for the emailed additional 20-30% off coupons. My sister who lives out of town makes it a point to go here each time she visits the bay area. read more

They have one of the larger selections of sunglasses compared to Neiman Marcus in this shopping center or Palo Alto's Nordstrom's Rack. Jean selection here is decent though some aren't much cheaper than Nordstrom's Rack. The great thing about Off Saks or NM though is that they have "sales" with additional % off. I have been able to snag a few items recently during their 30% additional off sale :) Purse selection here isn't anything out of the ordinary....I don't see the more desirable high end brands. Meh. The only good thing about this place is the crazy huge jean section. But they're still way too expensive - $175 for Rock & Republics that are $110 at Nordstrom Rack. It's only be worth it to shop here when they're having additional percentage discounts. Other reviewers have said their prices are better than Last Call, but I saw some L.A.M.B. wallets here that were also at Last Call for $15-20 less. The purse selection here is definitely slimmer than at Last Call. Staff isn't very helpful, but I don't really expect that from discount stores anyway. The prices here generally are not worth it one bit unless you are signed up for their mailing list and get their coupons. They often spam my inbox weekly with coupons for percentages off or mystery money. Although, I am still waiting on the day where I get the $500 mystery money coupon because I usually only get the 10 or 15 dollar ones but I guess I can't complain, it's better than nothing. I have gotten some pretty decent deals here on the clearance rack before and I think this store is a lot more organized than the Last Call Neiman Marcus store most of the time which I find a lot more enjoyable as a shopping experience in general. The only problem I have here is the customer service. When you ask for assistance on the floor it is really difficult to get some help. If you are looking for a particular size or help with something it is really hard to get help from time to time which can be troublesome when you actually do need help. It is a retail store for goodness sake. In addition, some of the cashier's I have experience have been snooty and not very nice sometimes and seem to not know what they are doing a lot of the time. Also, sometimes they do not speak the best English which makes me really have a hard time understanding what on earth they are taking about! There is no customer service here. Some of the clerks behave as if they're working at a vegetable stand at the street market, scolding customers and making inappropriate comments. They never hurry, they just take their time, and make the other customers in the line wait forever. If you have to get some high end designer items, just go to the real Saks when they're having a sale, or try Neiman Marcus when they're having their Final Call sale. If you wait for it to get to Off 5th and get further discounted, it could take a long while, and you have to dig around where the racks are so cramped! The things are still quite pricey for what you get. For the middle range designers, you could go to Nordy or Macys when they have their sales. Especially Macys, they have some awesome sales (coupons in the newspaper) or their frequent 1 day sales. The prices could be even cheaper, and it's neater, and they have a bathroom in the store. I just don't feel there is enough 'value' here to justify the time required to find something and dealing with the wait and lack of customer service. -If you must come here, make sure you have their email coupon with you. -Returns only for 30 days. After 30 days, the clerk has to ask the manager to give you store credit (with receipt and tags on the items). read more

I've been shopping here lately to feed my new denim obsession. I'm usually quite content with their 40% off coupons and ridiculously awesome BOGO sales. I can even say it's worth the price sometimes to have to go through those disorganized heaps of jeans just to find my size. But BOO to the stupid filipino lady who went out of her way on Black Friday to make sure I didn't get the $64 pair of Rocks! The POS erroneously rang the jeans up with 60% percent off instead of just 30%. My sales associate spent 20+ minutes ringing my pants over and over again, checking the prices of other pairs of pants, asking all of the other cashiers if the price was correct, getting a manager, etc... just so I wouldn't get the damn jeans at that price. Geez, Ms. Goodie-Two-Shoes, I'm sure you don't get paid that much to even give a rat's ass if your company loses a whole FIFTY dollars on Black Friday anyways! Ugh. Since then... the store has placed signs on the counter stating that the POS may be incorrect at times and it is the duty of the cashier to rectify and confirm that price. Ha. read more

3 Stars They had an ok selection of suits and dress shirts, and even though the prices were slashed, they were still pretty expensive.....but that's because there were brands like Armani there. They do have a bigger selection of designer jeans than Neiman Marcus and the prices were discounted hard.....at least they were when I went in there. Don't expect much for service/assistance though. Ok store If you are looking for a variety of brand name products

So it was really a mix here for me, of the good and the bad. When I was there, they happened to have a good selection of denim along with a sale on their stuff - buy one, get the second at half off. This meant the denim was really reasonable in comparison to other places like Nordstrom Rack or Warehouse jean sale and such. So I partook in the sale, and walked with some 7 jeans I had been considering for some time. I scoped the shoes, which were pretty good but nothing (for me) to write home about. I never really got to other parts of the store. Changing rooms were fine - no line, room right away. Now the cashier experience was hooooorrible. We waited for-freaking-ever. There were two cashiers, and a huge line. Both cahsiers were hung up with people making returns. They kept calling for others to help, so they came and entered in codes or whatever, laughed at the long line, and then wandered off. Not opening other tills or anything, just heading to their back room to laugh at our asses waiting in line. So when the people making returns were finally gone, did they hurry up? Nope. At least my cashier kept making "funny" comments about how she was going to leave in 15 minutes and the other cashier was going to be on her own (and didn't let it go... just kept going on like this was amusing somehow). Sometimes you will find something good at a decent price. Most times, the clothes here are still not cheap and the selection isn't that appealing. It's a great place to buy your mom a nice outfit but I still haven't found anything that I really liked. Guy's selection looks OK. Jeans are not too horribly priced, although jackets are. Some of the Ed Hardy/Affliction shirts look like knock-offs to me but they are probably from three seasons ago. Saks Fifth is the only store worth visiting Great Mall. Service is OK. They usually tell you what kind of sale is going on but are not that much help when you are trying to find something specific. The jeans that I have bought (and I have bought plentiful) are in great condition and quality. Aside from being a jeans whore, I am also a sunglass whore. They have a good selection of shades. Of course there are other things like brand name tops, shoes and bags. Check it out. They use to have a larger selection of purses but in the last few years they seemed to stop carrying high end items like Gucci and Fendi. Great place to grab a pair of Uggs when they are sale since most places don't ever have them on sale. One of the better places for a wide selection of jeans and sunglasses! The parking on this side of the mall is usually busier so prepare to drive around or walk a bit. As for the sales people, you will have to go to them more than they will come up to you. This is my new favorite store! All I have to say is, I got R&J Couture dress for only $60! Love it! Warning ladies: This is store is ONLY for those who love to sift through racks! It takes hard work, time and patience to find a good buy! Because not all things there are good deals...some stuff there are also at Saks store sale racks for cheaper! If you're like me: you can wait for a designer item to be on sale, and care only for getting great quality items for half the price, then this is the place for you! I visited the store on 10/02/16. It was Sunday afternoon and not busy at all. I walked through the men's shoe aisle and had to squeeze past a man stealing/dumping numerous pairs of shoes into, not just just one, but two back packs. He then casually walked straight out of the store. The sales associate asked me whether I needed help. I told her that, in fact, 'they' need it! She begrudgingly called Carlos the manager on duty (or on break, rather) and I relayed the incident to him. Needless to say that he didn't really say, nor do, much. This place was bigger than the other off fifth I shopped at in so cal's Ontario Mills outlet mall. They had a lot of stuff but I came here looking for Marc by Marc Jacob and Alexander McQueen. I only managed to find one McQueen and it was a huge size. They didn't have any Marc Jacobs at all. It seemed that they had mostly just "saks brand" which isn't that impressive. They had coupons and sales going on but nothing worth getting. There were a few things I bought on at the other location which was twice as expensive at this location for some reason. Not worth it and probably wont come in again unless I'm already at this mall for something else. i think customer service is a big deal when it comes to retail. they did have a good deal and i bought 6 jeans and my bf purchased 4 because of it. 1 of them doesn't fit me right (eventhough the blue version did) and i understand that i won't get my money back... but not even store credit?? seriously?? original tags in place, with receipt and even original bag is there. because it's passed 30 days? wow. customer service sucks big time. cashier/manager elizabeth/ some other lady who stuttered when i asked for her name vergie (?) just said the same thing to me - their policy. why even employ/pay them if they can't do anything othen than tell me what's on the back of the receipt. useless. they're losing customers! REALITY CHECK- Served and happy customers equal money"$$$"... Humiliated customers when returning items by the management will only vote with their feet by walking away hurt and angry. REALITY CHECK- Customers are NOT paying to receive tongue lashings from someone behind a managers title by expelling her power in an inappropriate way. REALITY CHECK- Hostile attitudes from management during returns will question your ability to problem solve and result into a store that provides policies without integrity. REALITY CHECK- Saks is Losing this customer because of incompetent management and condescending speech that did result into fleeing with my $$$ and going else where. REALITY CHECK- Good costumers that buy merchandise from your store increase your earnings and that's how you earn a PAY CHECK and keep employed. REALITY CHECK- SAKS on-line sends invitations by email to conduct store surveys and customers like me will let them know how the service was preformed. IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO CORPORATE Management Customer service at this location= F- Elizabeth; Vergie. "She did not wear a name tag. I looked for one and did not see one." I will NOT apply for the SAKS credit card because of the creepy service experienced. I feel at a loss because of the free benefits they offer. Please consider to hire management with retail and customers service education. Emotional stability is a plus when management is hired to interact with the public. Penny wise but pound foolish is a poor way of conducting business when you are surrounded by silicon valley customers that may misinterpret a negative impression from your staffers professionalism as a permanent one. To be balanced, I like the merchandise at Saks and the non-management sales people, however, I will only shop at other locations (Gilroy) with cash or American Express. REALLY IMPORTANT.. I wish I could give it a 0 star. So I was in the store on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. A very strong smell of weed suddenly occurred as if someone was smoking it right next to me. I looked around, didn't see anyone smoking, but noticed an emergency exit just a few steps away. Thought the smell might come from the exit, I wandered around in the store, away from the exit, trying to find a staff to take a look there. The smell spread very fast, still very strong. Finally, I saw a lady in Saks black Tshirt with a name tag on. I asked "the smell of weed is so strong. are you aware of this"? She glanced at me and asked "what"? I said "nothing, just want to make sure your staff is aware of this smell. I don't think it's right to smoke here in public. There are kids with their parents shopping here". The lady gave me two words, "so what?". So what? I don't know how to answer that but I know I will never come back to this store. read more

This is a great store to shop at when you want designer items, but are on a budget. If you hit the store at just the right sale there are some great deals to be had. They have a consistent inventory of quality designer clothes, purses, and shoes which can be extremely dangerous for my wallet. Sales Associates are friendly here which I appreciate. Worst customer service ever!!! I went on 11/3/15 and was treated like crap by the fitting room employee! My husband was trying on pants and I was waiting for him right outside of the room and he had quickly gotten something from outside and the fitting room lady took all the clothes and tossed them on me and told me she can't hold fitting rooms! After that happened I stood in line with my husband waiting to pay for our belongings and told him how rude it was to be treated like that then the employee walks up and interrupts our conversation and starts talking why she was not in the wrong and raises her voice to us then rolls her eyes and walks away! Worst customer experience ever! Brought over an untagged bag to ask the price and checkout with my items and first sales associate couldn't check or key in prices so she told me to wait for another associate to help me. This associate acknowledged my presence, continued helping a customer, finished helping the customer and then helped about 2-3 more - even when I was standing there waiting. He finally helped me 20 min later only to tell me the price after disappearing to the back for an additional 5 min to check the price. Mid telling me the price he was answering questions from other people who were walking by. I get it - if you don't want my business then I should go elsewhere. If you can handle a little disorganization with your discount, you can handle Off Fifth. Fortunatly, I'm reformed clotheshorse and can navigate any treacherous pile of accessories and any overstuffed rack. Amatuers beware. You could be scarred for life. A good poke around requires the timeframe of a lazy guy going fishing and the patience of a Zen mater. The best time to come is during the week. During the weekends, aisles can be as clogged a river during salmon spawning season. Still it's much much better than the Neiman Marcus Outlet. I'm not giving any bonus points here for decor and customer service. Nope nope. I'm giving props for the bargins to be had. Don't come here with a specific item in mind and you won't be disappointed. The very front is nice casual daily wear (Ed Hardy, Juicy, True Religion, Rock and Republic to the left), the middle has higher end lines like Prada, Gucci, Moschino, Chloe, etc. Between there tucked into a corner is the clearance rack for the true patient label whore. I can tell you if the shopping goddesses are smiling upon you, you may find a steal or two for under $200-$100-$50 whatever your budget. And if you aren't skinny bone jones it can work in your favor. One of my nearest and dearest actually found a gorgous Elle Tahari velvet jacket and a pair of white Alexander McQueen pants in her size American 16!!!! Further proof that just because you have a real body doesn't mean you can't be stylish. The women's sections make up the majority of the store but the accessories section is worth poking through. You can find Kate Spade, Cynthia Rowley, your basic Prada vinyl bags plus jewelry and belts (I've found Gucci belts for under $50!). The men's section (particularly the shoes) is seriously lacking but during the fall/ winter this area can have a wonderful selection of jackets and coats at serious makedowns (my friend bought this smashing full length Calvin Klein men's coat orignally $900 for $120 after all the sales and coupons). The housewares and children's sections can produce some amazing finds just perfect for gift giving. Past finds of mine include a newborn Baby Dior outfit for a little boy ($20) and a pair of Vera Wang champange flutes ($25). Every once in a while when I feel like getting my label whoreness on, I never indulge in the full price stuff, so I come here instead. From True Religion jeans to the Betsey stuff, this place always has so many items to pick from and at marked down prices. The best time to buy stuff here is when they have the additional discount on things. If you like designer jeans (Joe's, Seven, Rock & Republic etc) they have a great selection and it's super organized. The jeans are typically 50 % original retail & additional 20-40% off. Joe's are my favorite and they have a decent selection. I've noticed they don't have as many jeans as they used to, but the styles are still current. It seems like they replenish and change styles frequently as well. read more
