I felt like I was at a retail Happy Hour amongst the engaging go-lucky staff that randomly asked if I needed assistant. I perused the cold weather clothing & jewelry sections, with the latter offering a massive sale...purchase now & get 40% - 70% off with a pick up on 2/5. The store is well kept, organized with high end/luxury items discounted at-least by 50%. The store is two-level as the lower is just as organized & led by more for friendly employees. Even the armed Security Guard at the street entrance gave off a positive vibration as I ensured him I wasn't casing the joint when I was taking pictures. During my double back to the jewelry counter & before I could ask for assistance Jichele, the Manager kindly shouted she was on her way. We ended up chatting for awhile while she navigated me amongst my shopping. I received really good customer service without being forced to buy...I purchased items anyways. Honestly, I didn't know there was an Off 5th here as I'm always up the block at another discounted retail store. My shopping experience was amazing on all fronts & I'll be back, especially if those sales are common. As a discounted retail store, make sure to pay attention the exchange/return policies on the receipts.

Loooved. The DC Nordstrom Racks are cool, but this Saks Off 5th? Definitely the next step up. I ended up with a killer blazer, but wanted about 95 million other things that I saw. Their coat selection is also a beautiful sight to behold. I was on a different shopping mission today, but I'll definitely be back soon to revisit. Brands spotted: Karl Lagerfeld, Equipment, Helmut Lang, etc.

They have many good fashionable popular brands for young professionals and clearance. Variety: Bags, clothes, shoes, etc... Brand: Boss, Givanchy, Paul Smith, etc... Customer service: Good.

This LOCATION is EVERYTHING!!! Mz Tina and the sales associate who checked me out, made THIS shopping trip quite memorable!!! Loaded down with too many garment bags & bags of shoes/boots. Mz Tina came out nowhere and offered me a few reusable Shopping bags! Albeit I kept buzzing as I was trying to leave, we couldn't Locate any alarm. Got all the way home JUST to locate the annoying alarm on one of my ‍‍I immediately called the store and was reassured by Tina that I could come in anytime to have it removed and she would give me an extra 10% off my next shopping trip!! I'll be back before the Xmas rush

The Metro Center DC area just got a little more trendy thanks to the arrival of Saks Off Fifth and the neighboring Nordstrom Rack. I visited Saks Off Fifth a few days after the grand opening in September. The first floor is bright and welcoming and features a nice selection of sunglasses, handbags, and jewelry. I immediately headed downstairs to check out the selection of women's clothing. There were a nice selection of designer labels and everything was organized and easy to find. The shoe section was inconsistently lit. Some aisles had bright recess lighting and other sections had almost no lighting at all. The merchandise is on par with what you'd expect at a Saks on Fifth Store, but the character and warmth of the store isn't there. Speaking of warmth, the store was cold. I asked a few employees if they felt cold as well and they concurred. The uninspired ceilings and concrete floors give the ground floor a warehouse feel. It's as if the store spent all the time on the main floors and forgot to spruce up the ground level. It's nice to see Saks Off Fifth in the formerly vacant ESPN Zone Space. I hope it spends a little more time on its interior design so that the store is a more inviting space to shop in. I didn't find anything I liked during this visit, but hopefully there'll be something that suits my fancy the next time I stop in!

GO TO NORDSTROM! Don't waste your time with these people. Super rude and pre judged me before I even attempted to make my return. They were rude before I even spoke. My husband and I are long time Tom Ford sunglass wearers and these snapped the first time he put them on at home. They refused to hear me out and kept repeating "can't do nothin about it, we didn't sell them to you this way". No wiggle room at all. So I called customer service and they informed me that it's the stores discretion to accept them or not? Apparently I went to a horribly rated store where they have frequent problems. Just my luck. I would suggest Nordstrom all the way, I have been loyal to Nordstrom for years now and customer service/managers do not put up fights. They actually listen and accommodate you as if you're a real customer, even a human being. I learned my lesson and will not be doing business with them anymore. I'm out $160 now...please learn from my mistake!

In these tough times, and even in good times, clothing is a basic necessity. So splurge every once and a while. You deserve it

Every one needs clothing. It's a basic necessity. But you won't break the bank, when you buy some of those luxury items.

Not much in the way of selection. Couldn't find any of the good stuff Saks carries. Lots of outlet store come ons.

Customer service at this location is terrible. If you're a man looking for quality suits and dress clothes, take your business elsewhere.

Excellent store finally bringing a much needed style update to fashion starved DC. Wide selection of dresses, jeans, shoes and handbags.

I need to report an extremely disturbing experience at a Nordstrom Rack store during a recent visit…read morewith my husband. We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. This interaction was not only unprofessional but crossed the line into harassment. this incident be investigated thoroughly. No customer should be treated in this manner under any circumstances. I would also appreciate a response outlining what steps will be taken to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to others. Huge thumbs down to this store and this horrible little twit

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

The edit is solid -- everything from Hermes (yes, I spotted a pair of immaculate riding boots, sadly not my size) to The Row, Prada, Chanel... even some more accessible gems from brands like Mansur Gavriel. I lucked out and found a pair of Prada Monolith loafers that are still available in-store at full price -- except mine were half the cost and looked like they'd maybe been worn once. Maybe. Such a good score, plus I got to support a small business, which always feels better than buying direct from some corporate mega-retailer. And shout out to Julia, who works there -- she was fantastic. Super helpful, super knowledgeable, and when the right shoe went missing (yes, really), she helped me tear the place apart to find it. I had almost given up, but then I spotted a Prada box... and there it was. Victory. All in all: great range, well-curated, and the kind of place where you just might walk out with a designer piece you didn't even know you needed. Definitely one to add to your DC shopping circuit.

Not only was the staff lovely and welcoming - the glass of wine offered was such a nice touch - they were incredibly helpful as well in finding me a gorgeous red Armani dress at a fantastic price. It only gets better! One of the employees (Krista) noticed that there was a small fix that needed to be done on the shoulder. Before I could even blink she had a seamstress in from a local shop, who came and got the dress to repair on their dime. I honestly didn't notice the issue until Krista pointed it out, she's got an eagle eye. Krista was amazing at coordinating the dress pickup a few days later. I couldn't get out of calls from work so she got the dress delivered to me! I cannot get over how amazing they are, and will ALWAYS recommend Ella Rue. Consider me a customer for life!
