Went here twice. Both massages were good however the reception could use some work. The first visit ended with the receptionist arguing with me about "undertipping" when I asked for a certain amount of change back after paying for the service. The total difference she was arguing was a $2 difference. The whole time she was holding my change hostage until I agreed with her. I did hold my ground and tipped what I was planning in the end but it was definitely uncalled for behavior. I could tell on my second visit that I was marked in the system some how because I was then required to pay prior to service and then was questioned by the staff to confirm when my last visit was. Tipping culture has gotten out of control and to be treated like this over $2 is crazy. Will not be returning. read more

Great little place in Morristown. They don't mess around and get straight to the problem areas. I like that they will recommend and mix different techniques to give you what you need for immediate relief and relaxation. It's definitely not a fancy place but definitely one to try if you just want a good massage to work the knots out. read more

Worst customer service EVER!! The receptionist was extremely rude and condescending! I had a 4:15 appointment scheduled and confirmed via phone with the manager yesterday and via text this afternoon. I showed up on time to be told that my appointment had been cancelled because I didn't answer a "re-confirmation" phone call earlier TODAY. When I questioned that, I was told that they didn't have a slot for me and that staff were busy with other customers. Hmmm... strange. After continuing the conversation, which included the fact that I would write a review of my experience, magically, she (receptionist) offered to "accommodate" me for my 4:15 appointment. Somehow, now at 4:18, they had a slot and staff available! No one had entered or exited the premises during this time. The manager called it a "miscommunication". I called it a LIE! It should be illegal to have businesses like this. The person massaging me had no idea what he was doing, the whole process felt like he was just killing time and all over the place with no sense of direction. I'm really upset at myself for deciding to stay because when I walked in, I was asked to pay upfront which is very unusual. Can't help to think it was some form of racial profiling (I will investigate ) I lived in Manhattan for over 12 years and get foot and body massages regularly because of my profession. Recently moved in the area so I decided to try somewhere new instead of running to Manhattan all the time. I know better now, get my massages after work in the city or just drive to Manhattan. My sis had me try a couple of massage therapy places to help me get rid of shoulder numbness. (If any of you work at a desk all day, or on your laptops longer than you should be, because you're abnormal like me, then you'll have experienced what I'm saying.) It felt like constant pricking under my skin. My shoulder muscles were extremely painful and my muscles were having spasms. That's how bad my condition was. I almost believed it was fibromyalgia. The ladies here knew exactly where my problem areas were without telling them. With the massage only being an hour, they focused on undoing my shoulder muscle tightness with the right amount of pressure. Five stars because between this place and their competitor, this place applied more focus to the problem area. Because of my type of work, it's recommended I have this done more frequently. Stretching and decompressing movements at home only go so far. This therapy coupled with my chiropractic care, both put me back to wellness. Now, it's a matter of prevention from reoccurring conditions. This facility is on a busy street next to other small businesses and restaurants. If street parking isn't available, there's a large parking structure across the street with convenient entry/exit ways. The interior is clean and smells like clean laundry. Their lobby is quiet and has a relaxing element with a mini water fountain, fish tank, silent TV, and a comfy couch. They accept cards, but take note you need to pay in advance. You can add a tip to your receipt after the massage, before you leave. After I'd returned twice for visits, I was already feeling better! read more

Sakura spa has a great staff. they are all friendly and very good at giving the right pressure massage requested. I usually go for medium, but once in a while I ask for the strong body work. I have never felt uncomfortable or disappointed. You pay up front, cash or CC. tip after. I usually walk for 30 minutes before and after the massage. Really has helped relieve the pain in my lower back, neck, legs and feet. Highly recommend. I enjoy the oil and the hot stones also. The place is always clean with relaxing music and the sound of water. Every one is good, but I recommend Eva and Lina. read more

I went to try this spa based on reviews. Unfortunately it was one of the worst massages I've ever had. It didnt feel like the masseuse was trained at all. It wasn't just the inconsistent pressure (which can be something I would speak up to), but it was not hitting pressure points at all. There didn't seem to be any focus in the strokes moving from one area to another and it was all just very willy-nilly. I did not walk out of there feeling even 5% better. My massage pad at home would've done a better job. Unrelated to the massage itself was the location. Though in a cute part of town with some nice restaurants and cafes nearby -- there is a very rowdy tavern 2 stores away. It definitely took away from any "spa experience" with the smoking that can be detected in the waiting area and the bickering going on outside that was loud enough to be heard while in the room on a massage table. The spa itself wasn't the cleanest. As soon as you walk in, theres a hint of an odor covered up by room deodorizers and essential oils. Once you make your way to the bathroom, the odor can be full blown... I wouldn't pay $25 to go back. read more

I booked a massage appointment for my parents and I, as a gift before thanksgiving. First time going to this place and all I have to say was WOW !!! The girls who work there were super sweet and warming. Not to mention the amazing massage I received from one of the girls. She targeted my up body for 30 min and the lower for another 30min. All for $60 for 1 hour definitely worth it. She got into every muscle and she even used hot stones & warm towel on me that felt amazing ! My daughter booked a massage for the two of us, and when we arrived, they acted like she had booked at the wrong establishment, and said that she never had an appointment. I had to force them to look at the address and name of Sakura Spa to get them to admit that she had done everything right, and they just refused to honor her booking. Sent my in-laws for a couples massage treat, before they caught their plane back home. They and I were very disappointed with the overall experience. After i had already paid for their couples massage upfront ($110), the massage therapist added on thirty minutes to each of my in-laws service, claiming the 'husband' had requested it as an Xmas gift, that was inaccurate, as neither had requested this. Spa made each pay for the additional time $30 each (totaling $60 for both) PLUS requested a $20 tip from each person on top. (Total of $40 more). Who asks for a set tip, let alone a 20%+ ? Total charges/ paid for a couples massage.... $110 ( massage) + $60 (addtl time)+ $40 (requested tip)+ $14 (the latter charge is for a credit card fee which is not disclosed either) = $224 Was expecting a lot more based on the good reviews. Generally I don't rate this poor but thought others should know and beware so they do not get take advantage of by surprise. read more

We went here every month till our latest appointment - we came right after a movie and were a few minutes late, and they had given our appointments away already. They were unapologetic even though they know us as customers, and told us to come back in over an hour, which is just inconvenient to suggest because we didn't have time to kill as busy parents who squeeze every errand in when we can. I'd say customer service is lacking, and depending on who you get, the massage quality varies. We unfortunately won't be coming back. read more

I made a last minute appointment as I had some time between a meeting and a flight I don't know how this is rated so highly. It smells bad, and the rooms are incredibly small (and lack ceilings, so you hear the person in the next room). They spent an oddly long time on my back, and then a kitchen timer went off and they asked if I wanted to pay for an extra 30 minutes so they could finish the massage. Stinky and scammy! read more

My fiancé and I were very excited to get a couples massage to start off our wedding weekend. We got there early and prepaid. Another client walked in for her appointment. The lady at the desk, who also gives massages, continued to call someone else to what we assumed was asking for more assistance at the spa because they weren't prepared for three appointments at an overlapping time. The employee on the other end of the phone line then asked us if we could get a later appointment- which we weren't able to. So they overbook, and don't take responsibility. Great massage, but like any spa, it all depends upon your therapist. Usually nice and quiet, very relaxing. Sometimes answering the phone or door in the middle of the massage. That's the only negative. Price is right. Very clean. Very pleasant. A sauna would be nice, especially in the middle of the winter. read more

DONE THINK - JUST BOOK IT. My sister and I decided last minute one night that we wanted massages so we called Sakura and they were able to get us both in on short notice. I had a massage with Linda and when I tell you to request Linda, REQUEST LINDA! She gave me the best massage I have ever gotten in my life. I have been to Spas on vacation and paid $200+ for high end massages and I can confidently say this $60 massage was better than any other one I've gotten. Linda in particular payed attention to my troubled areas and made sure to alleviate any tension or knots she came across. She attended to my full body from head to toe and it never felt rushed. Toward the end of the massage, the timer went off and she wasn't finished with one of my feet and rather than rushing to be done she completed the entire massage as if the timer never sounded. This was a small thing but greatly appreciated. I came out of the massage feeling amazing and turns out my sister had a similarly incredible experience with her therapist, Angela. This makes me feel like most, if not all, of their therapists go above and beyond to provide amazing massages. read more

Absolutely outstanding. I get a lot of massages and have high standards and these massage therapists are well trained. To respond to the other comments here - all drop in Chinese massage places require paying up front (or at least the dozen or so I've been to around the country), most have a limited physical structures which can include thin walls/sheets/open ceiling, and many have a smell that comes from incense. Do you want a fancy place or do you want a quality massage for half the price? Don't hesitate to come here! read more

I've been going here once a week for many months now. The service is always great. They are very accommodating and I absolutely love the soft massage beds and the hot stones that they use towards the end of the massage. I would recommend calling a few hours in advance to make an appointment - they do accept walk-ins, but you don't want to run the risk of them being busy and unable to see you. Like the one review stated below, they ask you to pay in advance and I have no problem with that - regardless of how your experience is, you are going to pay for the massage anyway. They also give a rewards card for a free one after a certain number of massages. Just FYI that tax is charged if you do CC - and the tip is paid on your way out. My massage attendant did a great job however I'm extremely shocked that I was told to pay for my massage service before receiving my treatment not sure if that's the policy or just based on the color of my skin.When I asked why I was told that " you know some people no good" this is not legal business practices to make people pay before receiving their treatment. You will get a very decent massage for below what you would pay even at a chain I think. Everyone is kind and courteous though they do not have The luxury of taking their time. Had a $10 off coupon that I got from their own website that had an expiration date of 9/2016 that the girl said they were not taking anymore. I questioned it and she said, "talk to Boss". Regardless, proceeded to get a 90 minute massage. Massage was good. Hot stones weren't available because they were not ready. Again she blamed the boss for that too. After Massage I tipped the girl $15 and she complained that it was "too small". Thats approximately 17% of the cost of the massage. Very unprofessional. read more

In the end the cashier asked If I gave already the tips, I said no then I added to my check bill at that time she was looking how much I was going to put on and made me really uncomfortable. read more

I had an amazing massage this weekend by Tina. I opted for the 60 minute massage and wish I went for the 90! I will def. be back. I work in the spa and service industry and am also an aspiring massage therapist and this is one of the best massages I've had. I also came in with back pain and my therapist used a mixture of deep tissue and swedish techniques to work on that side of my back without it hurting like hell. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed and most importantly, the pain I was experiencing went from an 8 to a 2. I highly recommend trying this spa out. This was our first time here. We came here for a 60 minute couple massage. We then extended 30 extra minutes. A small intimate place. Yo yo was great and professional.
