My husband and I dined again yesterday at Sakura in PV. Very good food, very entertaining seated at the hibachi grill. I was seated on the end, however and could see just how dirty the wall supporting the grills were. Stuck on food particles, grease etc. Hope they clean this up or we won't be back. read more

The food was pedestrian at best. The show was entertaining and it was pretty quick. Very noisy atmosphere. Price was high for what we received. The Teriyaki Chicken was cubed and had some Teriyaki sauce on it. The scallops were over done (Gordon Ramsey would be appalled). The veggies were a bit soggy. We had seven if us at a Hibachi Grill. Our Chef was awesome, funny, and really knew his place at the Grill.. Great Food, and lots of interaction including baby bottle sake. No rush and plenty of food. Go and Enjoy! read more

Food was great and service attentive. As with any hibachi restaurant, the show is half the reason for going. The noise level was over the top and with 3 chefs all banging away (and one particularly loud group near us), it was almost impossible to have a conversation with someone sitting next to me. Ambiance: it was nice but I expected it to be a bit classier. Cement floors. Very noisy. I could barely hear my wife speaking to me from across the table. We had regular seating. The noise coming from the four hibachis was deafening. But they were filled and diners were having a blast! Great if you have a large party and like to have a really good time. Service: our waiter was attentive but we had to ask for chopsticks which should be automatic in an Asian restaurant. Food: My wife ordered chicken yaki soba. She got a plate of vegetables, thin noodles and chopped chicken. No miso soup. Nothing else but a square plate vegetables and some chicken. It was "meh". I ordered a spice tuna hand roll and a bowl of Nabeyaki Udon Noodle Soup. The spicy tuna hand roll should be very basic with chopped spicy tuna and some rice wrapped in Nori. What I got was something quite different. But then again, there's only one place it the quad cities where they make it right. This was not it. The Udon Noodle Soup was subpar. The broth was tasteless. No umami. And the thing about Udon Soup is that the broth should have depth of flavor. Oh, and the egg was missing. Basically, the food is nothing to crow about but we will go again 2-3 more times to give them a chance to pay more attention to the food. If you want to have fun, I recommend it. Good food, timing on food order was pretty bad. I got my meal (sushi) almost 10 minutes before anyone else. Everything else was 5-10 minutes apart so people were done by the time everyone got food. Restaurant in general is very loud, hard to have a conversation. read more

I had just got in to town to take my son to dinner for his birthday so called for a reservation for hibachi. They said between 8:45 and 9 PM. Which was fine as it is a Saturday night. After standing for over 30 mins waiting and watching multiple parties leave, we were told another 10 mins, only after asking So we joined the others and left too as they were closing soon. It I could give it a zero I would, the sushi was below mediocre. Pretty sure their sushi chef is just some guy hired off of the street. They use bottom of the barrel quality ingredients for their sushi. Rolls are falling apart, lumpia caviar played off as expensive, rice wasn't done correctly. They are just hoping ppl in the tricity areas are too stupid or uncultured to know any better. They tried to sit us in the hibachi area when we told them we didn't want to be on that side because we weren't ordering it then tried to force us to order it. Once we were moved to the correct side the waitress ignored us for over 40 minutes. She dropped off my husbands salad but we didn't have any silverware or chopsticks for an additional 25 minutes to eat it. Over all poor overpriced experience. read more

Excellent hibachi steaks, seafood, vegetables, & fried rice. We also have tried some of the specialty rolls & appetizers--delicious! The atmosphere is so much fun in the hibachi room with Willie & Tutu as our favorite chefs. The service is great (remember to tip the chef via cash & then the waitress at the end). Highly recommend you make a reservation if you are going on a Friday or Saturday night. Lunches usually have no waiting time & hibachi prices are a little less expensive for those on a budget. read more

We had reservations this past Saturday for two at 6:30 for Hibachi. They called at 3:00 and asked if we could be bumped up to 6:00. Got there at 6:00 and waited 25 mins. All beer on tap was out. Out of the 4 bottles beer, they only had two. No Domestic beers at all. Chef took forever as they were short staffed. It was alittle too loud for the average Hibachi. Would have preferred more vegetables. The filet was cooked on point. Soup was bland. I'll try it again in a couple months when they iron out all kinks and also try the regular lunch menu. We did get seated with 6 other people and had fun. read more

Love the Hibachi entertainment. A really fun time with the chef squirting saki or throwing broccoli in your mouth as he cooked. Also they have good lunch sushi special plates at reasonable prices. The lunch menu on both sides of the place are cheaper. read more

Great food, fun place to eat. we celebrated my husband's birthday with a group of friends and had an enjoyable time! What a fun time! This restaurant is a welcome surprise to the area and I am positive it will do well. The hibachi tables are great for celebrations or just for a night out with friends. Sadly the sushi side of the restaurant fell short of our expectations. There are better sushi restaurants in the area. read more

We just happened by this place on their opening Day. The food was great, the service was great, the location (at least for us) is great. We were very impressed. They serve sushi/tempura/hibachi of which we tried the hibachi steak/scallops and the chicken/shrimp, both were excellent. Everything is new and super clean. Can't wait to go back and try the sushi! read more

Finally open! Fresh food and great sushi. Staff is wonderful. Super close to us so we finally have a "local" sushi place near us! Had the filet and scallops and a couple of rolls. Teppanyaki was delish as were the rolls! read more

Like most we were waiting for the opening. The food was good but the same seasonings/sauces were put on everything making it one tone and salty. The chef was very entertaining. The room was very noisy making it hard to have a conversation with the other guests at the table, even those sitting next to me. My take a way is just watch the chef and don't expect to interact with the other guests. My con is the cross contamination of food. I don't eat seafood and my filet was in constant contact on the grill as were the grilled vegetables. Our two meals cost $70 before tip. If we go again will probably eat in the dining room as opposed to the hibachi table. read more

Had reservations at 6 and we were seated at 6:05 which was cool. Our party of four were seated with another party of four and they were great. We waited patiently for 30 min before anyone took our drink order. All beers we wanted were out. The beer they had was warm which sucked. We waited another hour before the chef arrived. Steak was not cooked to order. He cooked it all the same but he was a funny guy. Lobster was over cooked and the scallops were fishy. The soup and rice were outstanding. They might have had a bad day so we may try it again. Just don't expect much for the money. You shouldn't have to wait 1.5 hours anywhere read more

TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!! We called and asked to make reservations for 4 people. Were told on the phone they did not take reservations for less than 6 people. When we arrived we were told we had to have reservations. They offered to seat us at the cafeteria style tables in the lobby. We walked out. They need to get there act together read more

My husband and I finally went to Sakura and it was great! He had the filet and lobster, I had the hibachi steak and everything was cooked perfectly. The chef was fun and the wait staff was very attentive. We will definitely go again. read more

We were seated quickly but that's where the good experience ended. We had appetizers which were ok. Then we ordered sushi, it was so loosely rolled that we couldn't pick it up without it completely falling apart. I ordered scallop roll. It literally had no scallops, at all. My husband had the cowboy roll and it was actually disgusting. Our drinks never got refilled. In my experience, this Japanese restaurant was a little below my expectations. With the lunch bento box, soup OR salad was offered with the meal. Most places offer both soup and salad! In order to add the additional soup or salad it was $4 - $5 extra. Portions were not generous for the price paid. We were excited to try this new restaurant in town but unfortunately it was a total bust. First off, when we were greeted, our server had a mouth full of food which completely gross as bits flew out of his mouth when he spoke. Disgusting. His service continued to be subpar, forgetting items and generally unprofessional. That being said, I left the minimum tip listed on the receipt and just told myself we would not come back as the food was just "okay". We left disappointed but told ourselves we at least wanted to try the place and so we did. What was really frustrating was when the bill cleared my bank account several days later, it was up-charged by almost $5. Now I understand that $5 isn't a lot of money but I was shocked that they overcharged my card for a bigger tip I didn't approve. I called the manager who seemed apologetic and and said the server was dishonest and had been a problem. She said the next time we come in, she would comp us $4... really? Pathetic. What they did was unethical and probably illegal and I hope they haven't done that to anyone else. read more
