We returned after a bad experience two years ago since we heard they were under new ownership. Much improved. Service was much, much better. Our server was quick, responsive, and accurate. I ordered the Surf & Turf with the sirloin and blackened catfish. The sirloin was definitely not USDA Prime, and although it was cooked to my specifications it was a bit tough. The catfish was nothing special. I will say the salad was very good, crisp and fresh, and quite substantial. Almost a main course itself. The grilled vegetables were cooked perfectly and very tasty. And the coleslaw was one of the best I've had in a long time. Not quite as good as Bill's Grill, but...still good. Looking around at what others ordered the prime rib looked great and I would probably try that next time. The steak salad also looked good. The ambiance hasn't changed, of course. Still kind of loud, but the rough cowboy look is fun and interesting. Very good place to eat we travel all over the country and these places like this that are still around. This is where I like to eat. Nice steak cooked right he had seasoned butter on top. The beans were really good and we got a bowl of the beef, barley soup and it was a real bowl a full bowl not a little tiny bowl that people try to pass off for $10 old school food. Country and Western theme, very old west, with exposed log rafter ceilings and rock walls. Service was fun, and lively. We were there Saturday night when they had live music and prime rib, which was excellent. Dont bother getting an appetizer, as the portions are huge. I had to stay up 2 hours later just to let things digest. The margaritas were good, and large enough to light you up with only one. I hate to leave a negative review but something has changed recently, and for for the worse. Whenever friends visit from out of town, I take them to the Dry Gulch. I love the ambiance, the staff is extremely friendly, and the live music is amazing. However, the food has gone down hill in a really bad way. First bad experience; appetizers were cold, they were under cooked, and bacon was raw. Our steaks were over cooked. If I wanted a well done steak I would have gone to Denny 's. This place is expensive so, one expects the food to be great. The second bad experience; there was a long ass hair in the salad. Again, the filets were ordered, Medium and medium rare, but what we received was well done. It was also my friend's birthday and she was visiting from Scottsdale. She is used to properly cooked steaks. It was her birthday, and the meal was a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, the wait staff didn't follow up to inquire if everything was prepared properly so, we dealt with it. I'm going to give Dry Gulch one more chance but if the meal is bad a third time, I will never return. At the moment Texas Roadhouse serves a better steak for half the price. I'm curious, did Dry Gulch hire a new kitchen staff? If so, get rid of them before you lose all your customers. Everything had been great until recently. read more

We've eaten at dry gulch twice while visiting Prescott area and we like this place. I had the pork chop porterhouse and it was thick & fat. Good taste. The servers are all friendly. The bar/restaurant is decorated very cute. They are closed for an hour from 3-4 between lunch & dinner. The prices are a little expensive so beware about that. Food is yummy and they have live music during dinner on the weekends read more

We had to wait 45 minutes and hostess forgot to seat us. We are old folks and didn't have anything better to do. Once we got seated we were very well taken care of. My sister-in-law has long Covid and and my brother is deaf in one ear and in the early stage of dementia. And they were difficult. The staff was very professional and accommodating. The menu is one of the most complicated to figure out Than any I have ever run across. And the food was well worth the wait. For not having many steakhouses and the low reviews of Dry Gulch, I was a bit nervous to try this place. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was! My husband and I both got filets that were cooked exactly as ordered. The garlic butter on top of the steak gives it even more flavor. The fried zucchini was cut a little thick but was still very good. Each of our sides, garlic friend and Mac and cheese were done very well. The fries were so rich and flavorful that I couldn't finish them! The service was great with very small town feeling as the waitress knew almost everyone in the restaurant by name. I just happened to drive by and discovered DRY GULCH is open for lunch. Of course, I went in. WOW!! I received the best HELLO when I went in and the same girl was my waitress. Again WOW,she was so very pleasant and lovely. It's about time someone has good "ole" service. As it is so hard to really find good help. Friendly and her nails were clean!!
