Ordered the food to go. It was an easy process. The food was almost ready when we arrived but not quite. But it was nice that everything was hot and fresh. The sesame chicken was not great. The beef with broccoli was bland. The fried rice was excellent. The hibachi chicken and veggies were the best thing we bought. I appreciated the service but I probably won't repeat most of what we ordered. There was seating the restaurant but it's a fast food Chinese place and a very casual ambiance . read more

First time visiting Sakura. This establishment had both Japanese & Chinese options. I went with the steak Habachi, served with zucchini & onions & rice (minus cooked carrots). The steak was flavorful and not chewy or stringy as you might find at strip mall restaurants. This restaurant is located near The Dollar Tree & Thomasville Wal-Mart. I visited around 2:30pm for lunch, so the place was empty. Staff friendly and attentive but didn't converse much. I will absolutely try this location again. Just a little more pricey than the average Chinese restaurant. My order cost 12.50 with a beverage. Establishment is clean (even the Men's bathroom) & spacious. read more

On our roadtrip we stopped randomly here. And the steak and shrimp hibachi grill was surprisingly good! The white rice even came hibachi'd with some soy sauce and maybe even meat juices from cooking my beef and shrimp. The lady behind the counter was nice and smiled when we walked in but admittedly on the phone she didn't sound enthused to be answering it. Food poisoning is an understatement. I have been to Sakura a few times years ago and always got their hibachi which was fine. However, upon eating from the Chinese portion of their menu last night I was greeted by chewy/slimy "beef". No idea what it actually could have been, but I will assume it's the culprit that handed me the worst morning of my life today, throwing up 8+ times, first IN PUBLIC then at my home. I will never be back to Sakura, there are so many better options in Thomasville and surrounding areas, save yourself and your stomach. read more

The restaurant is always super clean inside and the employees are always pleasant. Here are a few tips for ordering hibachi: let them know if you don't want black pepper on your steak and how you'd like it done, otherwise it can be a little done and peppery BUT the pieces are cubed thick and plump and not cheap thin strips like you find at some Chinese buffet hibachi lines. The rice also has a lot of black pepper to season. I do not personally like black pepper so this is truly my only complaint. The food is always cooked fresh on the spot, ready in about 10 minutes or less. I've never had any trouble with my orders or eating in. Dining in is served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils but no complaints at least it's clean and sanitary. Highly recommended. read more

We've eaten here before with okay results but last night was underwhelming. The waitress didn't write anything down--and then forgot our sushi appetizer, utensils, chopsticks, and salt & pepper--and was grouchy and irritable to boot. The filet mignon was just steak and the soup was just beef broth. It couldn't have been that she was too busy because there were four people behind the bar doing nothing. Today was my first time eating at the Sakura in Thomasville I eat at the one in Randleman quite often and love so thought why not give it a try. I have to say was pleasantly surprised at how clean and easy on the ways the inside was I was very impressed. I enjoyed the shrimp tempura roll and a house salad which I had to share with my husband it's big . The roll was brought out quickly and was perfect. I'll definitely recommend and come back to this Sakura location ! Worth a try read more

Ordered pork lo mein and brought it home. After eating a few bites found that much of the pork was raw! So, i took it back, and had all three people behind the counter and at the stove try to tell me that it wasn't raw. All while obviously deriding me in Mandarin? When they finally decided to give me my money back, they still tried to keep the tip i had put on the charge receipt and then would only give back $8 when the total should have been $8.13. Only after a lengthy explanation and them getting hostile, did they return the full amount. I took pictures just in case but avoid at all costs. read more

Wonderful hibachi, chinese, and even sushi. This place is super clean and has excellent service with a smile. Their sauce are really good.

I ordered shrimp and scallops , wife ordered hibachi chicken + 2 sushi rolls = 28 bucks Ok let me start off by saying the store was very clean The food was blah,served on plastic plates with plastic forks and Styrofoam cups I got about 10 shrimp and 4 scallops cut so thin I could almost see thru them, I call them scallop slivers . I originally ordered one sushi roll but i asked about another roll and it automagically added to my order because either I couldn't understand her or she couldn't understand me or a mixture of the two but that is ok because I am no cheapo . Sushi tasted pre packaged, Sushi rice was dry like it had been stored in fridge too long or thawed out. The Hibachi chicken (the chicken itself) wasn't bad but nothing special at all , average at best. Hibachi veggies were swimming in oil and a bit too mushy for my taste My assessment Food overpriced for the quality Basic Sushi rolls 5 bucks and they aren't even good The other Japanese restaurant at southgate and the gas station go go yaki is much better food in my opinion. read more

This WAS an awesome restaurant when they first opened. ....NOW not so much. The last 4 times I have gotten food from there it was terrible. The quality of the food and the service was absolutely atrocious and the lady that takes orders over the phone is rude as rude gets. If thry can't get back to what they used to be then they should shut the doors NOW!!!! read more

I love this place. They have only been here a few months, but they have excellent food well priced. I have tried many dishes and they are all very good. The lo mein is well seasoned and all the meat is cooked but still juicy. The classics such as sesame chicken and general's tso's are the best versions of then I've had. The chicken is always so hot I have to wait for it to cool down. The staff is great too. Calm and respectful, and they are easy to communicate with. The interior isn't fancy, but very clean and calming. There is room for smaller parties, or a large table for big groups. Their drinks are only a $1.30 with unlimited refills. On top of all this the food is ALWAYS fresh and fast. They also do take out, which is packaged with cardboard in between each entree to keep them warm and from squashing each other. Then placed in a paper bag for more warmth, then into a plastic bag. These people really care about the speed and quality of your food. read more

Went there with the wife last night, both of us still sick. I will say the taste was on par, but will not go back or refer anyone to somewhere that gives you food poisoning. Knew something wasn't right for them to have a 94.5 rating since having used to work in the food industry I know it takes a lot to loose 5.5 points. Just go to Shotos and get better food, more for the money, and no sickness. read more
