    Photo of the brown avocado

Yesterday was my first, and last, time visiting Salad and Go at 22nd & Kolb in Tucson, AZ. I was so excited to give it a try, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I ordered a Cobb salad with extra avocado and extra bacon. The worker at the window when I picked up my order was super nice, but that is where the excitement ended. The avocado was brown (see photo), the cherry tomatoes were squishy and spoiled. The bleu cheese dressing was watery and had an off taste. The amount of the extras I paid for was minuscule. Anyway, I gave it a shot and it was a failure. It is SO important for all restaurants to check the quality of product being served. If you wouldn't eat it yourself, or you wouldn't serve it to a friend or family member, please do not send it out to a paying customer. QC in food prep/quality is critical for customer retention. There is no need for comment from management to my review. I will not contact a company rep to discuss. I hope this will be a teachable moment for the owner and/or manager of this location to improve. Tysm for listening.

We had a gift card to use, and used some of it one evening for salad meals and a few days later for some breakfast burritos on the way out of town. They are an affordable way to get a healthy meal, whether it be breakfast or lunch. They are popping up all over Tucson and we are enjoying trying different things.

    Wrong order

Despite all the reviews saying they mess up orders, we wanted to give this place a try. Unfortunately just like many others our order was messed up too. Disappointing first time.

First time cardboard in my salad. This time the food is disgusting. Old. Soggy. Barely and chicken or salad. Smells rotten. This location is horrible. And the window girl had an attitude. Don't recommend this location at all! A lot of apologies from the owner to the Yelp reviews but no one going in to the store to fix the issues

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and am not entirely disappointed I finally did. I went to the Kolb location and found the staff friendly and a fresh salad. My disappointment was that for the "build you own salad" there is no list of what they ingredients you can pick, how many, etc. This made the ordering process not as smooth or quick as I was hoping. So hopefully at some point they add this information to the menu.

This place is wack. Their wraps are dry they never give you dressing on the side claiming it doesn't come that way when THEIR OWN promotional photos show it that way. Apparently the sauce is on the wrap which I've never seen. I've been here 4 times now really hoping to have a good experience because I was giving them leeway for being new but after the rude ass employee told me the dressing was on my wrap only for me to get home and it has no dressing on it... I'll never be back. A major component of salad is the dressing and without it, it's inedible. Reply to buisness owner - I private messaged regarding this issue and explained I dont have email... the only way to solve issues with your company apparently. I tried to handle this prior to writing the review but kept being told to send an email.

I know this location is new and they definitely have some kinks to work out. I've been a couple times to give it more than one try. My first try they opened about 30 min late on a Saturday morning and once you're in the drive through with other cars you're kind of stuck waiting, another try they didn't have any strawberry lemonade, and this trip my burrito was cokd and had barley any egg in it. Overall Salad and Go is pretty good but I hope they get it together soon at this location. *updated to add this morning 8/30 both drive through entrances are blocked off.

I love bugs in my salad, nothing like free protein! I've never had a problem here before and things do happen but still disgusted.

Cesar chicken wrap WITH NO DRESSING

My go to after work but lately they've been giving me my wrap WITH NO DRESSING. I've had 2 wraps now that have lettuce and chicken....dry. Both times I've gotten home and been disappointed to find my wrap as dry as the Sahara desert.

These Pastries Should Probably Be Illegal…read more Prep & Pastry has been serving Tucson since 2014, and after eating here, I completely understand why they've built such a loyal following. This review is only about the pastries because the rest of their menu deserves an entirely separate review. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly light and airy everything was. Every bite felt fresh, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. The frosting wasn't overly sweet, and nothing tasted heavy or overwhelming. As I've gotten older, I've become much more conscious about what I eat. Surprisingly, these pastries never leave me with that "I shouldn't have done that" feeling. They're indulgent without being excessive. Now let's address the real issue... I always buy two. Not because I'm planning ahead. Because I know exactly what's going to happen if I don't. I'll eat one in the parking lot, sit there for a minute pretending I'm satisfied, then make what is almost certainly an illegal U-turn and head back inside for another. At this point, I believe the owners should stand trial in a savory Food Court of Law. Dun... Dun... "In the Criminal Food Justice System, pastry-based crimes are considered especially delicious. In Tucson, the dedicated foodies who investigate these sugary felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Pastry Unit. These are their stories." Prep & Pastry is guilty of making "I'll just have one" the biggest lie you'll tell yourself all week. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or simply because life is better with a great pastry, this place delivers. WIT Inspection Score: -- Truly Among the Best.

The line was really long, so we used the iPad they provide to place our order. We selected a matcha, but the iPad never gave us the option to choose between hot or iced. We assumed it would come iced, which is our mistake for assuming. When our order came out, the matcha was hot. We went inside and politely asked if there is any chance we could get it iced instead since there was no option on the iPad. The owner herself took the drink and remade it, which we appreciated, but her attitude toward us after was unnecessary. She told us that next time we should order directly with them because we just "wasted their cups" and so on. We apologized again and explained that we would have selected iced if the iPad had actually given us that option, but she didn't really acknowledge what we were saying. What made the experience more disappointing is that I work in coffee myself, so I understand what it's like when things get busy. I chose Barista Del Barrio out of all the coffee shops in the area specifically because I'm Latino and wanted to support a Latino-owned business. I even tipped when I placed the order on the iPad, so I was disappointed with how we were treated over something as simple as an ordering-system issue.
