The food is generally good but I wasn't able to get any food today... here's my email to corporate: Good morning, I'm a teacher in Wilmington, DE. This morning I was excited to order from SaladWorks - it's a favorite treat of mine, and I rarely eat out, so I was really looking forward to my Roasted Turkey Club Salad. I have lunch from 11:30-11:50, so at a few minutes before 10, at the end of my planning period, I logged on to your website to order for myself and a colleague. I clicked "order delivery" and chose a delivery time, then placed my food order. When I went to check out, however, I got an error message, so I called the store. This was at about 9:53 am. I knew that the store didn't open until 10, so I was pleased when someone picked up the phone, but when I said, "I'm trying to place an order for delivery..." the person said, "We don't deliver." I was surprised, but I said ok and found a colleague who was willing to go pick up the food. I called again, and I said, "I'd like to place an order for pickup." The same employee (who did not give her name) said "We don't do phone orders for pickup, either." I said, "Well, I can't get the website to take an order," and she said, "maybe that's because we not open yet." I tried again a few minutes after 10, but still couldn't get the website to take the order. I called back, and the same employee said, "I can't help you with the website and I can't take a phone order." I said, "What am I supposed to do?" and she said I should come in, place my order, and wait - which I really can't do in the 20 minutes I have for lunch. So I said I would have to order my food somewhere else. I understand that technical difficulties happen, but it would have been nice if the employee had taken the simple step of writing down an order so that I could go pick it up. As it was, I was unable to buy my lunch from your store - and what's more, being treated rudely makes me hesitant to use SaladWorks again - especially when Panera (which has a functioning online system and pleasant employees) is just a mile farther up the road. I'd recommend some training to teach your employees that if a customer would like to spend money in your store, they should make that possible. It also would be advantageous to make it evident on the website that delivery is not available and not to make that an option when placing an order. We ordered 5 salads from the mill creek Delaware location. And yet again it was messed up. Order/check # 221020153636361. We stopped ordering from salad works because our orders are never correct. We decided to give it another try. All of our salads came but there is not even 1 dressing . We called the store and we're told yeah that is an ongoing problem but she is too busy to send the dressings out and asked us to come get them. We ordered it for delivery and paid all of the delivery fees because we don't have cars to drive there . It's unacceptable that this continues to happen . $60 down the drain . I was okay with this place until today. I ordered create your own salad online noted mixed in for the dressing, got it "on the side". This is not the problem, I'll just mix it myself. I started eating, and half way through, there's a HUGE DEAD FLY laying on my lettuce.... I am so disgusted by this, the thing is I was still chewing some lettuce in my mouth.... I walked into this place today and both of the employees working just stared at me like i walked into the wrong store or something, mind you i was the only customer in here. After telling them my order they wouldn't make any eye contact with me and i said thank you and not one word back. love it here, but today the supervisor was very rude. i work in the service industry so i tried to make my order easy... caesar salad but substitute egg for noodles. easy enough and they can ring it up however they want. but she was rude to me about how i ordered it and corrected me several times about how i should have said "create your own salad". the staff there is always lovely and i honestly feel bad that she is in charge. just wanted to stick up for them because she seemed angry that they have possibly not charged me for "extra toppings" in the past. i would never care about being charged an extra 1.50 but it was so uncomfortable :( read more

Ate here earlier this week with a friend. When we walked in you can sense something isn't right... is it the lighting?...the layout? idk but should have walked out. I ordered a Cobb salad. This place sadly has really gone downhill. I have been eating there for years. The refrigerator that holds the bottled drinks has been broken for several months (in the middle of the summer), usually the rolls they give you are as hard as a brick (probably sitting since the night before)..also today we got lobster bisque with our meal - it was actually lobster BROTH with almost NO meat in it whatsoever. Please hire better help that actually knows how to mix soup before ladling it into a cup - the lobster meat was probably all at the bottom of the vat. We are big salad eaters, but from now on we will be going to Panera Bread for our salads/soups. read more

This is probably the worst salad and customer experience I have had in recent memory. Never have I felt bullied for ordering a salad until today. The two saladmakers were visibly as miserable as they were apathetic to the quality of salad in front of them. Not only that, but the kale they gave me was slimy and smelled like utter garbage when I opened the box. Charmingly enough, there was a long black hair in the salad (photo attached). Gross. I was in today during lunch and hope to never see either one of those people working there again. This is the second time in a row I have come in the past month feeling underwhelmed at best. I was pleased with this place until yesterday. A few teachers, including myself, ordered salads for delivery. After an hour waiting, we called the store and they notified us that they had the order and that it would arrive shortly. We called after another half hour and they informed us that they lost the order because of their systems crashing, but found it and would be making it immediately. They also ran out of a specific dressing that we gave them an alternative as a result. Another half hour + later, we received our salads and there were several issues. The "create your own" was missing apple slices and had the wrong salad dressing, and another salad had only a few greens and was quite a let down. Overall, we were very displeased with our order and experience. Over a 2 hour wait for salads is unacceptable. read more

I place a group order @10:15 over the phone for it to be delivered to my work place. My order did not come until 2 and half hour late. Called salad works several times. Either the line was busy couldn't get thru, or spoke to some who stated my order would be here in 10 minutes. I called after 2 hours and asked to speak with a Manager, I then was placed on hold for 20 minutes until a Manager picked up. I spoke to a Diana who stated that she was a manager for them. i expressed my concerns and how this was very unacceptable and very poor service. She stated that she didn't know where my food was and that her driver isn't picking up. Wanted to created me 10.00 for my next visit. I just placed a order for over 50.00 a party 6. I then explained that that would not work, We missed out on our lunch and that the order needed to be free. She said that she could created me half my order. I told her no the whole thing needed to refunded and that we still needed our food. Asked several times how long she still didn't know/ couldn't get a hold of driver. Couldn't give a time its now 1pm and our food still have not yet got to us. I would never place and order from this location again. I never had this type experience with any salad-works ever. I have been to many salad works franchises. This one gives you ridiculously cheap plastic eating utensils. Staff member open an individual serving bag of sliced apples but only used 1/2 bag on my salad. Maybe he was saving the remaining slices for himself. read more
