This was my favorite pizza place for the past 3 years. My husband and I loved all the pizzas here, especially their classic Margherita. We encountered the owner, Marshall a few times in the first year when it opened. He made sure every table enjoyed their food. He also introduced us with Calabrian chili peppers and we absolutely fell in love with it. It has become our favorite Italian ingredient to add to our homemade pizzas and pastas. Thank you so much for opening our eyes to Italian chili peppers! We took many of our friends and family to APizza. We both are huge fans of wood fired, thin crusted pizzas and APizza just nailed it! Everyone we took to APizza had the most delicious, thin crusted pizzas. When we found out about the closure, we were so sad... We wish the best of luck to the owner's family in exploring the next step in their culinary lives. We hope that you will consider opening a restaurant again in South of Seattle. Seriously the best pizza ever. I always wondered why they were more expensive and that kept me from eating here for a while. Let me tell you what a mistake that was! I could live off only this pizza for the rest of my life. My wife, who doesn't like wood fired pizza, said we could have only this wood fired place, because it was so good! Saw the great reviews so our family of 6 decided to give it a try for lunch. Picked up our plates, silverware, water and glasses after placing our order of two large pizzas, a LG Cesar's Salad and a Caprese Salad. The Ceasars Salad arrived first, lettuce, parmesean cheese and dressing. None of the in-house made croutons and no lemons... asked for the croutons but was told that they didn't have any. I complained...which I hate to do. I love giving 5 stars, but can't this time. The Caprese Salad arrived and it was excellent. The pizzas arrived and we loved them both, their meat lovers Carne and one half cheese and half pepperoni, both were really good. They brought over a plate with 6 beautiful and tasty Canoles as an apology for the croutons outage and a billing discrepancy. This was a very nice gesture. read more

This place is so good I've eaten here multiple times in the same month! It doesn't really look like it would be authentic when seeing from the outside, but the dining and inside makes you feel like you've transported to Italy a little bit! I really enjoyed their speciality pizza menus and delicious variety's of toppings. It's really cool that you get to watch them make the pizza with their kitchen up front and the wood fire oven. I wouldn't recommend the bruschetta unfortunately, it's only 2 pieces. And be sure to think ahead for parking in downtown Tacoma! read more

Came by for lunch 2pm on Saturday. Place was busy! Waited a long time for our food. Ordered a 16" Tuscan and a 16" mushroom pizza. Both pizzas were way OVER COOKED. I love Neapolitan pizza and it comes with a thinner crust (which I love) but the crust here was WAY TOO THIN!!! Then you compound the issue by not putting enough toppings on the pizza. The crust had NO TOPPINGS 3 or more inches from the crust edge, which left all the edges BURNT!!! I have no idea in what mind they thought the two pizzas were good to give to paying guests??? As we were finishing the meal one of the cooks asked us how the pizza was. What was I supposed to say, "they SUCKED?" To compound matters this is a small restaurant with tables leaving very little space to walk around. For some reason they thought it was a good idea to have a jazz band come and play loud music at 2pm on a Saturday! It was hard to get around the tiny restaurant and way too loud. They make the pizza fresh as you order and it was a clean place. They had an extensive menu for vegetarians! I don't think I've ever seen so many options for veg-friendly meals!! Come here if you're around downtown Tacoma for sure. Skip the crowded 1 hour wait times, they are not worth the wait. Walk an extra two minutes from those hot spots and visit this pizzeria that opened in December. Fantastic employees, amazing owner, everything about the people brightens a day. Walk in, order at the counter, get a table, and wait. Self serve plates and water. Parmesan and peppers are available at each table. We split two large 16" pizzas between three people and felt satisfied. May have been able to get an extra slice or two but that amount was perfect. Pizzas are not greasy and oily which mean you don't feel heavy and disgusting after. There is a solid cheese pull. I spoke to the owner and asked about his favorites and recommendations. While there wasn't a clear answer, it was evident that all the best pizzas used their salami. Pick a pizza with salami if you eat meat and send it. Finnochiona - lots of cheese with salami and Italian herbs. This pizza was saucier and as a result, more "full" due to just red sauce and cheese. The salami was a perfect pairing, not too heavy as a meat to allow the foundation of the pizza to stay strong. Hot Coppa - hot coppa is another delicious cured meat and it's used well here. Red sauce and cheese are lighter here so meat is more emphasized, but a cheese pull still exists. Caramelized onions add a very niche touch, sweet yet savory. It's not overdone so there are select bites where you're amazed. A simple but effective pizza for those leaning towards a more dry texture due to the lack of sauce. read more

Two thin crust pizzas should not be over $80 for pickup, no matter how good they are. The crust was very dry and almost cracker like. The flavors of the pizza itself are good, but cannot justify the cost The interior is nice and is a much bigger space than what it looks like from the outside. We ate here recently and the pizza is wonderful! The menu is huge! I don't like meat on pizza and there is a whole page of creative no-meat pizzas as well as a whole page with meat. We shared a Caesar salad which was also delish. I'd highly recommend. We'll certainly be back. read more

Stopped by here after venturing in downtown Tacoma. We were at the Childrens Museuma dn Dorkys Arcade (across the street), and what kid doesn't love pizza?! And what adult doesn't love athentic pizza? 10 tables inside (2-4 per) And a handful outside Open kitchen and oven. The friendliest staff! And the smell of just heaven. We ordered the Forbidden Fruit (canadian bacon & pineapple) and a caeser salad....of course some wine. The crust is thin, flavors robust and toppings tasted fresh. My daughter demolished their chocolate gelato at the end of the meal. Prices are also great! If you come during a rush, just be patient, it's worth it. And be realistic, staff are people too. I have been wanting to try APizza Little Italy for a bit of time now. Most of the time I am going through here during lunch time and they aren't open yet but just recently I happened to be downtown in the evening when they were open. We were actually down here for Cinco De Mayo and weren't even planning to go here. A brewery that we were going to was supposed to have a taco truck that night but the truck never showed so we went here after our beers for supper. Steve and I got the Green Dahlia pizza and it was so delicious! The pizza had a great crust and the toppings on top were so fresh and flavorful! It had three different cheese, and mozzarella on top, Roma Tomatoes and their housemade pesto. We got gelato for dessert and it was excellent! I got chocolate flavor and Steve got the pistachio flavor. As far as I know this may be the second restaurant in town that serves gelato so definitely keep that in mind as it's not easy to find in Tacoma. Really a great pizza experience here and I am kind of glad the taco truck didn't show because we would have missed out on this wonderful meal! read more

Service was good. I did not realize the crust was more like a cracker.... I really wanted a great pizza tonight and it just didn't hit the spot. The marinara sauce is yummy I will say, but I am a crust lover and the crust is like a cracker instead of thin pillowy heaven. After quite some time of wanting to stop in here, we were finally downtown and did! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door. The restaurant is much larger than it appears and it's very cozy. You seat yourself and there are menus available or the menu is also written on the wall. Our pizza was soooo good! Slices are in the $5-7 range, I believe. They also have beer, wine, soda, Italian sodas, milk, salads, and desserts. The staff was super friendly. My only complaint is that on the menu board they had a list of desserts available. I believe 4 gelatos and tiramisu. They only had 2 of the gelato flavors and we went up to order the tiramisu and they said they did not have it. My daughter was soooo bummed. This is a relatively new restaurant and the pizza wasn't bad. However, the menu prices are not the real prices. Why? We called in an order for one large Margherita and one large Tuscan pizza. The menu prices show $25 and $29, respectively, for both pizzas. Yet, when I came to pick up the order, the actual price was $27 for the Margherita and $30 for the Tuscan. Add a $2.28 "to go" charge (really?) plus sales tax, and it's over $65 for two pizzas. I wasn't really happy about that, so keep that in mind when you order. read more

Stopped in for some gelato after dinner . It was quite a surprise for 2 scoops of raspberry and 2 scoops of chocolate the bill was $32.00. Really can't believe we paid that much for our gelato . Never again. A friend was there and said the pizza was good . So the next night l walked in and placed my order and thought it would be quick as there were pizzas in the window . It took about 10 minutes . My order was a slice of pepperoni and one of the fungi . Apparently they had to make the pepperoni because it was very fresh . The fungi piece was rubbery and dried out. Totallynot worth the $9.00 a slice . They were on a paper plate covered with a piece of aluminum foil . I asked for a box as I was walking 4 blocks with my order . We opted for slices, they came hot and tasted fresh. We ordered two salads (Caprese, and Insalata) both were decently portioned and tasted great. My husband and I love this place so much. We've eaten our way through most of the menu by now and have not tried a single item that we didn't find to be delicious. The ingredients are always fresh and each pizza is baked with care. The service is wonderful & we always feel taken care of here. I recently ordered a large number of pizzas for an event and Mylena, a fantastic and always friendly server, helped to make sure they were ready to go at the designated time. The whole crew made each item to absolute perfection. If we have time, we enjoy eating in their dining room. It's clean, the music is good, and we're always comfortable. read more
