They have a really great deal from 4pm-6pm on certain days where you can get a salad, pizza, and I believe 2 drinks for a really good deal. You can tell they use good quality ingredients because it all tastes fresh. The pizza crust is delicious and thin. I love the brick oven flavor the crust has and the toppings are baked to perfection all the time I've been here. Ignored us & it took several attempts to get his attention for a menu & wine refills-avoiding eye contact/minimal conversation & spending all of his time talking with another customer couple. Staff were incredible. Food was so damn good. We got three large pizzas, two kids pizzas, and one of their chopped salads. I have zero notes. I read somewhere that the dough is actually sour dough. I guess the starter they use has been going for around 20 years. Its name is Sophia. It was actually pretty quiet when we got there but filled up pretty quickly right around 6. Fondi pizzeria opened in the Proctor area of Tacoma. This used to be another pizza restaurant that went out of business. It's a great location right near all the shops and other restaurants in Proctor. We ordered takeout for our family. Overall takeout was really easy. They ordered online and then my husband went and picked it up. The chopped salad was delicious. You can tell the pizzas and the breadsticks are homemade from scratch. I really enjoyed the pizza, however, my family did not. I think there are quite a few few different types of pizza preferences in the world. I like a homemade crust woodfired.- which is what Fondi idea is. Some people prefer a floppy greasy pizza in New York style.- you will not find that here. Tried this for the 1st time on Sunday. I thought this was a more traditional sit down restaurant. But you order at the counter, then pick a seat. They do bring your food and drinks. It's a small establishment. When we were there it coincided with a larger party with several very loud children. So loud it was difficult to hear my husband trying to talk. My husband had the Margherita pizza which was good. I had the pepperoni which was extremely salty. Server was very nice though. All in all I don't see us returning. read more

Fondi is a nice addition to the Proctor neighborhood! I was promptly greeted by the bartender when I walked in and was able to place a takeout order quickly. Building itself is clean and well lit. I went with the vegetariano & a margherita. The vegetariano was really good and the margherita was pretty okay. I went to Fondi in Proctor last night with my grandson. Ordered pepperoni pizza and burnt cream for dessert. The pizza was crazy good. The crust was wonderful with just the right amount of sauce. It's always the best. We ordered 2 burnt cream desserts. Chris (the owner) came out and explained to us that he wasn't happy with the quality of the desserts but that 1 was acceptable for us. He offered to comp us the 1 dessert but I felt that wasn't necessary but very nice of him to offer. The burnt cream we got was delicious. Nice crunchy (burnt) sugar topping and the creamiest vanilla custard. The dessert was heavenly and we will definitely order again. Fondi just opened this week in proctor. You order at the counter but they also have table service for any additions you want. The interior is really nice and open, with lots of sunlight coming in which makes for a really comfortable ambiance. The pizza was really good, we loved the prosciutto arugula but the classic pepperoni was probably the best in Tacoma, the crust is really delicious and is clearly made from scratch. The salad was enough for two people to easily share. We weren't huge fans of the sauce that came with the breadsticks but the bread itself was also really good. All the pizzas were under 25$ and I thought it was a fair price for the high quality of the ingredients. Over all it's a high quality pizza place that offers dine in or take out and is a great pizza spot, I will definitely return! read more

We stopped into Fondi's new location, Proctor, last night, and had an enjoyable time. It was very busy, which is a great sign, and we were fortunate to be able to sit in the bar. If you have been to this location before (formerly Millhouse and Blind Pig), there used to be a separate bar and restaurant, but they have knocked down the wall and the bar seating is only at the bar. This was fine and this is the only way you get full table service. If you come in the main entrance, you order up front and find your own seat. I think that's my least favorite part of Fondi. If I'm going out to eat, I really like to have full table service. Also, because of the very open concept, It's quite loud and a wall or several might be nice. Haha. However, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and our food was delicious. We started out by sharing a chopped salad and holding the meat, as I am vegetarian. We also had a four cheese pizza and it was cooked perfectly. They were out of two of the four tap beers, so I was bummed by that, but not too big of a deal. They haven't been open very long. I'm excited to go back with our daughter, but I'm hoping we can find a time where it's a little more chill. I think they will have great success at this location! read more

Looking for a new place for a quick bite. Chopped salad was outstanding. The pizza too greasy for me, patted it with a napkin and it was ok. Great service at the bar. As I'm so sitting at the bar the manager (lady in charge) walks up to order some drinks and says to the young lady bartending. " I love the way customer service sucks the life out of my waitresses." I thought that was an odd thing to say in my presence. Very unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. As a black person I'm always aware of micro aggressions. Not sure what prompted that comment. We had the best experience at Fondi for dinner the other night! We were a table of five and it was a Saturday night and the place was quite busy, but they were able to seat us right away. We ordered a chopped salad to share which came out quickly and was literally amazing and then we ordered three pizzas which also came out so fast. I was surprised because sometimes woodfired pizza places can take a long time, but they were so quick, and the pizzas were absolutely incredible. The crust was perfect! GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE PEOPLE BEWARE My girlfriend and I ordered two pizzas from Fondi Pizza in Tacoma one regular and one gluten- and dairy-free. Unfortunately, we were sent two regular pizzas. We called Fondis, and they confirmed they had accidentally mixed up our order with another customer's very similar order except theirs was not gluten or dairy free. While the Fondi staff really did seem apologetic, the solution they offered was remaking the pizza and a $10 Fondi credit to the account. Keep in mind, the cost to upgrade a pizza to gluten- and dairy-free is $8, so the credit barely covers the upgrade itself not the inconvenience, discomfort, or potential health impact of the mistake. Overall, we were disappointed with this experience. We understand mistakes happen, but for people with dietary restrictions or intolerances, these errors can have real consequences. We're sharing this as a warning to other gluten- and dairy-free customers: make sure to double check your order before eating. read more

Ambience is great, really cute interior remodel of the old building they took over. Service was I would say 7 out of 10... responsive, and friendly, but there's no reason why my order took almost 30 minutes. All I ordered was a pizza and a salad. True Neapolitan style pizza is famous for being very quick. Maybe it was the salad? The food was I would say 5 out of 10 for the price. The wood fired pizza wagon guy at the weekly Tacoma farmers uses much fresher and higher quality ingredients, and a whole lot more of them for about eight dollars less per pizza of the same size. The quality of the crust indicated cheap flour, low protein, not chewy; the cheese, which looked like big squares of processed cheese slices, and the very skimpy vegetables on what was supposed to be a vegetable heavy pizza, very disappointing. For the same price at Colvos pizza in Tacoma. you get about three times as much pizza and it's at least twice as good. And the salad was equally disappointing. it was supposed to have white beans and I saw three in the entire medium size $16 salad. And the bits of meat they included were extremely salty, made me think they came out of a package of cheap processed meats that have been chopped into cubes. Maybe with time they will improve - if they are open to feedback! read more

This place is so badly decorated and the tables are close together to provide some semblance of connection. However, other people's children screaming right next to you is unpleasant. This restaurant is like The Odyssey but without any games. The breadsticks were cold and undercooked. The pizza was soft with black marks.
