Wee were the first people there and Nathan welcomed us in. We order a large extra pepperoni pizza with extra mushrooms and an order of wings. The wings came first and they were piping hot. We ordered our wings naked to really get a sense of flavor. Nicely seasoned and delicious yummy! Then our pizza arrived and baby it was beautiful! The crust was perfectly golden brown, every inch was covered with toppings, and this sauce was rich and flavorful. This is a real honest to God pizza joint. I stopped in for a quick dinner during Happy Hour on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. It's got a real neighborhood vibe and The Office was playing on the screens lol. While waiting for my meal, I watched the bartender prepare an Old Fashioned for a customer at the bar and she put so much care into zesting the orange that I had to order one for myself. I was not disappointed and she continued to demonstrate that care when, before she prepared mine, she asked whether I preferred a sugar cube or simple syrup. Such an unexpected and thoughtful detail and I was not disappointed. I wasn't disappointed in my meatballs and pizza either. Their red sauce was perfectly sweet and piquant and the Margherita pizza crust was crispy with olive oil and one of the best I've had. Buyer beware. Tonight, I ordered a pizza for delivery from the Bigfoot app. 30 minutes after the pizza left Bigfoot, and 4+ stops by the driver, after my attempt to call the driver, I then clicked the help button on the tracking, and it tells me to contact Bigfoot Pizza. I'll cut to the chase, the manager offered no solutions. I was told that after the pizza leaves their facility, it is no longer their responsibility. Among some other inappropriate remarks from the manager, I finally lost my cool, but I did not swear or curse or even yell, but I did get stern. I suggested she offer a refund as a solution, again it wasn't her responsibility. I order a pizza for delivery from the Bigfoot Pizza & Bar app, and they are not responsible for delivering said pizza? The manager then told me she could refuse service to anyone that was rude to her, and then hung up on me. My partner then called Bigfoot back. I do not know what words were exchanged, but in the end, after he suggested if they would make another he would pick it up. The manager also agreed to refund the delivery (I will have to wait a few days to see if that clears). Moral of the story, don't order delivery from Bigfoot. They get the 5 stars because the pizza is great, -3 stars for customer service and management. UPDATED TO RESPOND TO OWNER: You're manager is lying to you. I do not and did not use foul language. I did not raise my voice. As I said in the initial review, I did get stern. If you would like to go into the inappropriate comments made during my conversation with the manager, you should be reprimanding her. I was trying to be polite by not mention specifics, however it appears your manager has not provided you with an accurate account of what was actually said. She, not I, was the one making inappropriate comments, blaming "the foreigners picking up orders don't speak good English." I did call her out, telling her that was rude and racist. I am a supporter of all local Tacoma restaurants and businesses. I wrote my review specifically so the owners would know of the bad customer service experience, and looking at other reviews, I am not the only one. This could have been an opportunity, however you would rather skirt any responsibility of your manager or yourself, and try to twist the responsibility to the 3rd party or to a "foreigner who can't speak English" (your manager's words not mine). Also, I did state in my initial review that another pizza was made, my partner drove and picked it up, mind you, almost 2 hours after the initial order was placed. So, I picked this place because I was craving a taco pizza and they were one of the only places in the area that had one. It was fantastic. The supreme was not as good, but was still decent. Ordering through their app was cheaper then door dash, however they are pretty expensive. That was my only draw back and cost it one star...2 pizzas shouldn't cost 70 bucks... Delivery person mentioned "they were out of chicken or something", so only one pizza was delivered (both pizzas had chicken, so we knew this was not an accurate description of why we only had one pizza). Called to find out what happened, was told that they were out of gluten free crust, and they tried to call, but there was no answer. We checked the phone log for our account and there was no missed call, therefore no attempt was made, or they called a wrong number. Basically, only half of the family was able to eat. If we had been told there was not a GF option, we wouldn't have ordered (fairly generous tip for a single pizza, and for a non-gluten free pizza, there are far cheaper options out there). Changes to utilizing door dash rather than employing delivery drivers, inability to correctly communicate non-instock items are among the reasons we will not order from this establishment again. read more

First off, we love Sammy's pizza and small businesses. That's why we went there on Sunday, to watch the Seahawks game... or at least try. We normally go to the Fircrest location but decided to try this location instead. There was one person working and maybe 5-8 customers waiting. Nobody bartending. We ordered mixed drinks and a pizza and sat at the bar. The one worker showed up behind the bar after a while and made us mixed drinks with no ice or limes or anything.... It was literally just vodka and a mixer with no garish. He had to look at a recipe to make our drinks and he still failed. We went to this bar to watch the game, because they advertise that they show the games... but the worker said that he "was too busy" to change the channel in the TV. It's the place we want to love. We live close by and can walk over and belly up to the bar. Unfortunately they just don't have the staff to support it-no bartender available, even on a Saturday night during Happy Hour and a Seahawks game. What's the worst thing that could happen when you order a pizza to go? It takes over an hour and a half. Somehow two times I have ordered here recently and that has happened. This last time being the worst. Originally the online ordering said it would be ready at 530 then it was changed to 6. We called to verify and she said 6. I arrived then and was told 15 more minutes. I waited at least that long then asked again. She said it was just going in the oven. I was pretty upset at that point and explained my displeasure and that this was the second time. She made some excuses about being the only person working. I assume she meant the register because others were making pizzas. She did have to pour all the alcohol and beer so this wasn't wrong. But I told her that she should let her managers know what position they are putting her in. Another 15 minutes later which was an hour and a half past when ordered, it was finally ready. Pizza is pretty good. Prices are on par or better then most other places. Kid friendly and also has a bar area. Plenty of parking and perfect location for busy weekends! The staff is very friendly! The owner is shaking things up by adding new menu items and actually lowering the prices of the pizza! Now at Sammy's you can get an order of a 2 or 4 piece fried chicken with cole slaw and potato wedges. They've done away with the bulky hoagie rolls and now have flatbread sandwiches! I do miss the potato sidewinders though. They now have an appetizer menu which offers chips and salsa, add guacamole for an extra charge or sheet pan nachos add guacamole for an extra charge LOL. The staples are still there like the BBQ riblets and the many options of garlic bread too. The salads are different now and they also offer some of the best cake you've ever tried! The ambience at this location is really chill and when the weather is warm, they open up the wall of the bar to let fresh air in. They have a stocked bar and a nice selection of beer and wine both on tap and in bottles and cans. The pizza is the star of the show as usual and they've now started a specialty pizza of the month. The weekly specials are all still in effect and with the price reduction, you can afford to indulge in some pizza pie a bit more often! Fresh dough made daily with a plethora of great ingredients for topping your pizza set Sammy's far apart from the big conveyor belt chains. Could they be better? Absolutely but they are one the best around in my opinion and I've been a pizza snob for as long as I can remember. The staff is always friendly but the place usually seems a bit understaffed too. If you're at the bar and need a refill, you'll have to yell at someone or get up and walk to the counter. They have also added new entertainment options like trivia and bingo nights with no cover charges! I'm not sure how the pizza was overlooked when the sticker was placed in the box. The Maui Waui was delicious per usual. Sammy's has always been our go to pizza place as we live right down the street, over the past few months they have really stepped up their game. They don't skimp on the toppings like some places do and the quality of ingredients is top notch. The staff are always super friendly and efficient, never have to wait more than 30 minutes for a hot fresh pizza or wings. They also did a little renovation inside and the place looks great. My family stopped into Sammy's on a whim while on a walk around North Slope. First of all, the restaurant was incredibly clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a medium pizza (half garlic chicken/half chicken bacon ranch), a small meat lover's pizza, and a house salad with a chipotle ranch dressing. This was my first time ordering. I called and placed my order with the gentleman that answered. I used a deal from a text I had gotten. 2Lg pizzas for $30. Ordered a large BBQ chicken and a large Taco pizza. Was quoted 35-40 mins for pick up.(He said it would be a shorter wait time than delivery.) Call was placed at 5:40. Got to the restaurant at 6:15. Finally at 6:45, over an hour after my order was placed, 25 minutes longer than quoted, I went up to ask about it. A man went to the back to check on my order. The gal that took my credit card came out front. "Oh Bernadine! I'm sorry." I just looked at her, "okay." "Yeah, sorry about the wait on that." "Is it going to be much longer??" The guy comes from the back. I take my order and go. I got home and checked the "Taco swag" that came with my pizza. Lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, olives and sour cream. The lettuce...it appeared old, slightly brown tinged, and a sopping glob of muck that I guess they expected me to put on top of my pizza. I took a video, but Yelp won't let me post a video.
