I used to come here all the time but today was probably the last. It's already overpriced, but now they are putting barely any ingredients when you ask for them. When I'm paying $11 for a salad, I expect more than 3 little pieces of broccoli and 4 pieces of mushroom. It's just ridiculous. I'm not sure what the hell is going on here. I've been to Salata about three times this week. I'm a regular customer. This location used to be my absolute favorite. Several weeks ago I visited and there was guy with a tattoo on his face behind the counter. He was young. I watched him from the minute I walked into the front door. He was sweeping and cleaning up with gloves on. Some ladies walked in and he put the broom and dustpan up and went to go fix their salads with the same gloves on he'd been cleaning with. One other worker noticed the look on my face when he reached his hands into the lettuce. The guy quickly grabbed the bowl away from him and took the lettuce he'd place in it to the back to throw away. The guy with the tattoo on his face looked at me and said, "What's wrong"? The ladies were wondering what happened to that bowl of lettuce and why the guy came from the back to make them a fresh bowl of lettuce. Fast forward to this week. Lately when I go into this Salata there is a lot of playing around with the staff. Not all but some. I order the same thing everytime I come into this place and I never deviate from it. The girl behind the counter told me I had to pay for my extra salad dressing. I usually get 3-4 of those little plastic containers they put it in. Again, I always get the same thing every visit. I explained that I eat at Salata everyday and that I am familiar with the process and cost. Some guy with tattoos all over his arm then felt the need to chime in and tell me, "She was just letting you know it was going to be extra". A few minutes later he was telling the next customer that was his sister. I made it clear to him that I was familiar with Salata and I eat at one of their locations almost everyday. Once I got to the cashier he was loudly talking to the lady behind me as he laughed and played around while conducting my transaction. I was asking that my soup be placed in a paper bag, then bagged with a plastic one becuase lately my soups are spilling and the tops are coming off before I even get them home. I'm sure that has something to do with either the new containers or the new tops they are using. Lately I haven't seen Christian or Maribel. Salata was my go to dinner pick up on my way home after a late day at work. A large salad still remains a ton of great quality, fresh ingredients. Today I added chicken to one salad and salmon to the other. The chicken was $11 and had four pieces of chicken. I've been to many sit down restaurants with a better salad at a comparable or better price point. Might I suggest weighing out the items that are at an upcharge. This place is good, very good, but it is expensive. On this paticular day I visited, the line wasn't too long and moved pretty quickly. The dining area was pretty packed since it was the lunch hour. As others have stated, the variety and options are endless! Tons, and tons of different salad greens mixes and topping choices that can build you a great assortment of salads. Most toppings are not an extra charge but when you get to the protein section that's where things start to add up. I ordered a small salad ($7) and added shrimp to mine ($3). The shrimp portion was small, not even a handful. I spent $10 on lunch and I didn't even get a soft drink with it, only water. I must admit, everything is fresh and you can build one heck of a salad here. It's a nice healthy concept place and with that being said that could contribute to the expensiveness of this place. This is a chain, but I love the build-your-own-salad aspect for a healthier lunch! It get super crowded at lunch hour, and even sometimes before then. I've been there right when they opened at 11 and there were multiple people waiting outside to get in and order lunch. The good news is, they're fast! It's an assembly line setup where you just go down the line and tell them what you want in the salad or wrap. A small salad is more than enough for me, but if you want leftovers you could get the large salad. The pita chips that they serve with the wrap are pretty bland to me, they kind of taste burnt and have, on occasion, seemed stale. I do really enjoy getting a small cup of soup with my order, I've had both the tomato basil and chicken tortilla soup and both are great! read more

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I would have never been so offended. My husband and two girls went to the restaurant at lunch. It was our first time there. We ordered two kids meals and two salads. The lady at the front of the line kept asking our children what vegetables they wanted in their kids meals. When we got to the meat choice, they told us the kids couldn't get a meat because they already picked too many vegetables or we had to pay $3 more per meal. We were asked to pick the vegetables and not told that we were only to pick 4. We told them we wanted them to remove a vegetable and they refused. We told the manager we were not told and instead of correcting the situation, the manager told me since I was so cheap" he would remove the cost of the meat! I was shocked and could not believe a manager would call a customer cheap, particularly after they obviously had a worker who was in adequately trained. We left without any of our meals as I will not monetarily support an establishment with such poor service. The cheap manager can eat the cost of those meals. We will not be visiting this establishment again and I will be telling everyone I know about their poor customer service. By the way, manager's name was Edwin. They don't have standard stuff that's available with every restaurant salad, then serve up an inadequate quantity of what they do have, then charge too much for the privilege. He looked at me like I was out of line then ladled a small amount more. Of course, there are no second trips to get a decent amount of salad. It was a tasty salad, and enough for me because I eat about a quarter of what the average person eats of whatever the restaurant meal is. But, if you're hungry you may not want to go here. If their prices were half what they are and they carried standard salad dressings. I'd have given them 4 stars. I assume they'll succeed in spite of their inadequacy. After all, Starbucks is thriving selling coffee for $4 a cup when you can get better coffee at McDonald's next door for a $1.50 (A national study showed McDonald's coffee beat Starbucks in blind taste tests). We went to Salata while visiting from out of town, drawn in by the window pictures of wraps and salads. We had driven by a few times and decided to give it a try. Wow. Just wow. Huge selection of ingredients you choose for your salad or wrap. The staff explained our options and were generous with the ingredients. It was delicious and very filling. The soup was good, very hot. One of the things I really liked is if you're not sure about an item, they will give you a taste of it before you choose something you won't like. The drink selection is a good variety, although I did not see regular iced tea offered. They also had a cooler of beer and wine available. I've been here to eat twice. They can get pricey. They charge extra for meat, extra for avocado and other extras. ...plus a drink. The first time I went, the salad was amazing! Everything is super fresh! They went really skinny on the sides though. You walk down the row and tell them what you want, like Freebirds. For example, I wanted peas, they scooped out literally 6 peas. I made a comment and the guy said, well there is just so much you can get so I didn't want to overdue it. He then added more peas. Overall, the salad was very filling. I did have meat in mine - the seafood mix. My husband ordered a wrap and really enjoyed it. The second time...I ordered the salad the same way and the seafood was mushy and yuck! I pointed it out and the guy said they did something different to the mix and brought me different seafood. I was pretty much done with the salad (I had picked out all of the mush), so I didn't get a replacement. Since they are new, they are definitely working out the kinks. I'd definitely go back. I have NEVER experienced this and I hope to never experience this ever again at any place I chose to eat at. First I ordered a large salad and got the portion of a small salad. My salad container was mostly empty It was literally the portion of a small but most important!! as I was sitting at my table eating I noticed a roach walk right across the wall right next to me!!! I felt so disgusted that I had eaten at this location. Apparently I am not the first person that has experienced this and from the look of it it seems like this issue obviously has not been resolved. I thought Salata to be a great alternative to the general fast food types in the area. Being able to pick a salad or a wrap with the ingredients (a really good variety) of your choosing gives you the freedom to be as healthy or as unhealthy as you want to be. I personally chose a wrap with spring mix greens, tomatoes, celery, carrots, cucumber, avocado, grilled buffalo chicken pieces and a little ranch dressing. I really enjoyed Salata! I had been wanting to try it for a while and it didn't disappoint. It was a little overwhelming as a first timer. There are a lot of choices and the staff wasn't too helpful. They just kind of stare at you blankly and I felt a bit rushed. However, once I sat down and took a bite of my wrap, I was VERY pleased (I was also very hungry...). The balsamic vinaigrette was delicious and I realized the possible combinations for salads was pretty much endless! I wouldn't call this place cheap, but I think it's worth it for fresh, flavorful, healthy veggies. The pita chips they serve with the wrap are completely tasteless. They either need to add some seasoning to those things or just stop serving them. I look forward to going back to Salata! read more

We've been here many times... and unfortunately too late on several Sundays when they close at 5pm. Usually the food is good and service hit or miss. I watched an employee use the same gloved hand that he was sweeping with to give bread to someone not long after they opened. I've watched enthusiastic employees follow good hygiene and interact well with customers. Tonight I watched a shift leader give me five peas when I asked for them, and three more when I asked for more. I then heard him tell the employee serving my wife "less...less" when she wanted black beans...and another employee argue with her about garbanzos. They heard you through the line like cattle and just throw what ever amount you choose in your bowl, person in front of me had a small and was averaging two spoons of each item ordered I had a large and the boy working was only putting 1 to only half a spoon in my large then when you tell them to add more they give you a dirty look, just not a very friendly atmosphere from the employees here.
