Ok - this restaurant and its decor is a bit disconcerting for a beach town. It has a very regal feel to everything, from the entrance to the bar upfront, to the indoors to the veranda. But it's out of place when being beachfront - you would expect people coming in high end gowns, not beach dresses. However, the gorgeous sunsets you can get here make up for everything you might find odd in the decorations. The menu is not extensive, but does give options. We had the Caesar Salad (which was the highlight of the meal), the Branzino (which was fresh, but not very tasty), the ricotta ravioli and the tiramisu (which was wonderful). I am a bread fan and their breads accompanying the meal were also great. Finally, the service was great. Oh my. This place is amazing. We went with my parents who have been there several times and know the drill. There is valet parking available, so we went with that for ease. When you walk inside, you are greeted by beautiful decor. You must take the elevator to get to the restaurant where there is a beautiful sitting room. We came as a a group of 6 and had a table on their outside patio space overlooking the beach. Our servers were very kind and attentive to us when explaining the specials for the day and best dishes. Being a gluten free individual, I asked for some options I could eat and was pleased to learn that they had gluten free pasta and could make other items gluten free. They even brought me gluten free bread. It was sandwich bread I am pretty sure, but you learn to take what you can get when you are gluten free. I ordered the forever young cocktail which was delicious then shared the bolognese with gluten free pasta and the short rib special with my husband. I shared a tiramisu martini with my sister-in-law. Best restaurant experience we had on the island. Very upscale Italian punctuated with fresh homemade pasta that melts in your mouth. Ambiance is a nice outdoor patio overlooking the gulf. Got there as the sun was setting and made for a gorgeous setting. Our server Eric was outstanding, professional and great with menu help. Cocktails were good. Most awesome assortment of breads were delivered and enjoyed. To start we got a Caesar salad and Cacia e pepi which was ravioli with a peppery ricotta filling and shavings of prosciutto that was cooked somehow to make it crunchy. I've tried this agnolotti (filled with butternut squash) , I'm vegetarian (yes I know! Argentinian and vegetarian! (Weird and unusual combination). This filled pasta was literally delicious! The food was good as well, I personally got the butternut squash pasta, which was a very small portion, but still filling as it is served with complementary breads. The pasta had almost a smoky flavor, and was somewhat sweet, very delicious! The pistachio gelato was also delicious, but it did have more of a green tea flavor. Been coming to this place for years now and its a shame what it has become compared to what it used to be. After calling in reservations several weeks ahead of time and calling twice to confirm, they could not find our reservation. They even questioned if we made the reservation at the correct restaurant. After telling them we twice confirmed we had to show the email/txt confirmation THEY SENT US to validate the fact we did make a reservation. Even after this battle of the wills we were seated at a table on the patio as we requested. The best part of the experience is the view and outdoor dining. First server was a bit hard to understand and come to find that he was incorrect in his explanation of some of the menu items. At some point he started disappearing for long periods of time. No return to ask how we were doing or if we needed more drinks. I had to flag another server to ask where are server was. Still not showing up I flagged down another server to ask if they could get another round of drinks for us since the original guy was still missing. While dealing with this lack of service I could see other servers being very attentive to their tables. Guess we got the new guy or something but there is no reason to have to deal with the total lack of service we were experiencing considering the amount you pay here. Very unprofessional. Its at that point I decided to get up and seek out the Manager to get another server who would be more attentive. Luckily one of the other attentive servers saw my frustration and offered to take over the table which I gladly accepted. From that point on service was not a problem and salvaged what was nearly a total disaster. Food was a huge disappointment. Years ago this was the place where you would be inclined to try something different and be adventurous. The menu used to be vast with many different, appetizing selections that would be beautifully presented. Now the menu is drastically paired back with a few selections. The food is not inspiring and ordinary with presentation really lacking. For ambiance, location and views its spectacular. Service was a total miss until the server change but its the food where they have really disappointed. Limited, uninspired options with poor presentation. No longer worth the "fine dining" amounts they are charging. It pains me to write this after all these years, so sad. read more

From the valet to hostesses to the wait staff. The ambience is great. We were fortunate to see the sun set out the windows. The placement of the restaurant is great. We had the burrata. It's very good of you like very strong truffles. My wife had the bolognese which is a menu regular. The noodles were great and had a great flavor. I think it would be a good "go to" if you're not sure what to order from the menu. Not too heavy or spicy. I had a special of bucatini. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. The interior of this restaurant is beautiful! The host, and assistant server were prompt in getting us situated and the server was a native of Italy. We had the oysters, burrata, gnocchi, and veal. The burrata was perfectly creamy and was served over seasoned bread chunks with some funky diced veggies. The combination was great. We had a really lovely and leisurely dinner at Sale e Pepe for my mother's birthday. It was a Saturday night and we had made reservations to eat during sunset three months in advance, but we were unable to sit outside on the large terrace due to a wedding happening that night. Still, the main dining room was ornate and provided us with a formal setting for our celebration. We had two amazing servers straight from Italy who guided us with some recommendations on what to order. The Frito Misto included calamari, shrimp and veggies and was very light. We loved it. For our meals, we ordered steaks that were slightly undercooked, but not so much that we needed to send them back. They came with one side each, and I got the Funghi which were very tasty. I would like to try the Cacio e Pepe next time. We skipped the pasta course, and also missed dessert, as the portions were quiet decent. It is very expensive, but you are paying for the location and the service. Overall, we had a nice experience, but next time we do want to sit outside for the sunset view. read more

This is a very nice restaurant. It provides a premium experience. Be prepared to spend at least $50 per person. It's expensive but the food is good and the service is top notch. My wife and I both got the Ippoglosso (halibut). It's $52 so I was kind of expecting a little larger portion for that price. It comes with a parsley sauce and it's definitely parsley. Haha. If you don't like parsley, you better order something else. I also ordered a bowl of soup, Vellutata ($16) and my wife ordered mushrooms, Funghi ($12). It's roaster squash soup and it was really good. The halibut also comes with roasted squash. It was good but as you can see in the photo, there's just not much of it. There's a little ring of it under the Halibut. Lastly, got to try an order of Cioccolato e Baileys ($13). The chocolate was very good. Highly recommend. If you like chocolate, you will love this desert. Overall great experience with a great view. They ring a bell at sunset. My fish wasn't over the top outstanding. First, this place came with high expectations...but we found that the only thing that were high were the prices. The food was mediocre, service was good, and the restaurants setting and ambiance were very nice. This place really makes you feel like you might be Italy.... until you taste the food!! For an appetizer we shared both the eggplant and Cacio de Pepe. The eggplant was the worst I've ever had and the Cacio de Pepe was not far behind and contained no "Pepe". For our main course we had the special Grey Grouper. This was pretty good...I just wish I didn't have to stop at McDonalds on the way home for dinner! Well, at least the cocktails we had were pretty good, even though they hardly contained any liquor. All in All, I would go to this place for a special occasion for the beautiful location and space ...but plan on dropping some $$$$ and eating someplace else later. read more

We had calamari to start which was fantastic! They provide an assortment of bread, bread sticks, etc for the table. There were five of us and they gave us two bread baskets which was really nice. The focaccia bread was delicious. I ordered the guazzetto di pesce, or seafood stew, for dinner, it was really good. My daughter didn't really see anything on the menu that she really liked since she doesn't like seafood. I asked if they could just make her spaghetti and meatballs and they said of course! She loved it and had plenty to take home for lunch the next day. For dessert I had the limoni di almalfi. It literally looks like a lemon and has delicious cream inside. It was very light. The bread assortment and truffle butter were a great introduction to the meal we were about to eat. We choose the primavera salad and burrata & panzanella for our antipasti...both were fresh, light, and delicious! Our secondi included cacio e pepe, zucca e noci (butternut squash ravioli), and the branzino. The cacio e pepe was a table favorite- simple yet satisfying. The olive oil cake was for dessert, and wow! The presentation is unlike any cake I've seen served at a restaurant. Light, citrusy, and soft with some crunchy pistachio underneath. Will definitely be returning when I'm looking for a nice Italian dinner in the area. Side note- I've lived in Naples for 3 years. There are a ton of Italian restaurants, but this one is my favorite. I booked Sale e Pepe as a romantic date night spot during our baby moon because the views from the terrace provide the perfect view of the sunset. Now being a north easterner who grew up eating in the north end of Boston and having lived in the tri-state area where there is a heavy population of Italian Americans, I was apprehensive of booking a Florida beachside Italian restaurant situated at a resort. I took the gamble because of the views and they did not disappoint. Our server was the best! He was personable, explained the menu very well and gave us the scoop on everything. Probably the best server I have experienced in quite some time. The food here was pretty good compared to expectations. Now is it the best Italian food I had ever had? Not even close but for where it was located and the views it provided, it was pretty darn good. The coolest looking dish I had ever seen was presented to me that night. The Limoni di Amalfi was a cake that was sculpted to look exactly like a lemon. It reminded me of those tik toks where people cut into items to see if they are cake or the actual item. I wish it was as tasty as it looked but still, presentation was too notch! Overall, this spot is perfect for a romantic date watching the sunset. Pro tip from the server...if you are coming in March, book the 5:45 terrace table and get there a little bit earlier so you get best seat in house. We decided to splurge on one of our last nights on the island, and this was the best spot to do so! We made a reservation early enough and outside to catch the sunset from the beautiful restaurant rooftop. It was cold this evening so we were offered blankets and seated next to heat lamps so we could still enjoy the outdoor scenery- if only every restaurant had that luxury! Our service was stellar throughout the couple of hours that we spent here as a result. We started with some cocktails and the amazing complimentary bread assortment. Both were a delicious start to the meal. My friend got the pear martini and I got the Hugo cocktail. I also an excellent red wine suggested by the server to complement my meal. The romana salad was a nice refreshing Caesar to start our meal. We shared the fritto misto as a delicious crispy appetizer as well. For our entrees, we asked the server for recommendations and decided to try half portions of the gnocchi, salsicce, and tartufo. All were perfectly Al dente, and the tartufo was our favorite with the rich truffle sauce. Finally for dessert, we had to try the after dinner martinis. Our first round- the espresso martini and tiramisu martini- was so tasty that we had to try the other two on the menu. The cioccolato martini was my favorite as a sweet dessert because of the gelato, but the cinnamon bun was just as delicious. We ordered a bottle of Italian red. The dinner was served buffet style with everything the heart and stomach could desire.
