Have tried to get in touch with the office multiple times across many days and no one has yet to pick up the phone. Even the automated text they send that says "sorry to have missed your call. Please text this number." Did not respond. I have called at different hours so they can't possibly be at lunch every time. They scam you into charging for services that are covered by insurance . Make sure you ask if you will be charged for services even if your insurance cover 100% of visit. Then they increase your bill $5 every month. Their billing is a money grabbing SCAM. They give dentists a bad reputation. They should be sued ! read more

Medical procedure went well. I have delta premier which covers extractions 100 %. I received a bill stating I owed $295 for them to look at it and tell me they would pull it. Said that my insurance did not cover the ":consultation" even though my regular dentist already examined it and gave me a referral to have it pulled. 2 previous extractions I've had were covered 100 %. It pains me to write negative reviews. I'd much prefer to recommend businesses that are doing great jobs. My son's surgery went very smoothly, and the doctor did a wonderful job. Zero complaints about the surgery itself and the professionalism of our doctor. This feedback is directed specifically to the support staff. They act like they're doing you some favor, and you should be so grateful. The pre-surgical technician was a bit rude, openly glared, and spoke with a disrespectful, authoritative tone. She seemed agitated to be at work that Saturday morning. I'm a paying *customer*...not just the patient's parent. Going to an oral surgeon comes with a great deal of stress, and probably made for some negative comments. I've had a lot of dental work in my life, and I really dislike going to a dentist. Dr. Blaser performed an extraction, bone graft and implant. The procedures went extremely well, and for the first time in my life, a dentist actually called me at home that night to see how I was doing. Everyone on the staff was professional, and made me feel comfortable. I hope that I never have to return, ever! But, if I do, I want Dr. Blaser to be my dentist. read more

Had a wonderful experience previously with Dr. Jurgens. Both my sons and myself have received treatment with Dr. Jurgens. Most recent experience with the billing department and office manager has been horrible. I have attempted for over two months to find out the status of the insurance approval for my middle child to have his wisdom teeth removed. After being placed on hold for over 15 minutes on at least two occasions, I have been told that both the billing department and office manager were not available and I would receive a callback. I have not received any response to my outreach. I would NOT recommend this practice due to the administrative staff. read more

Employees are Rude, lacking empathy, disrespect, and attitude when asking questions based on any health concerns. The surgeon was dismissive and ran out of the office as quickly as possible to enjoy her weekend plans. No communication skills to inform the patient of potential issues, lack of treatment. Did not finish the extraction or identify any post-op care. The tall front desk manager (If It were appropriate, I would call her what she really is) should take a quick and effective course in finance because she clearly can not calculate simple math--no SENSE OF HUMAN DECENCY. I've recently just started going to this office and to say the least I have not had a good experience. I recently just had my wisdom teeth taken out and the dental assistant who was supposed to prep me for surgery didn't put on my laughing gas mask on correctly and then just left me for twenty minutes to talk to his co worker outside of the room- asked me once how I was doing and no more and gave me attitude when I asked a question. Then after the surgery the nurses aid was aggravated when my ride home was asking questions about how they can help me. No social skills, hopefully this was a bad day in the office, but definitely won't be coming back or recommending to anyone. read more

I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth removed here back in September, and could not be happier with it all. I was very nervous about the whole thing because of all the stories you hear of wisdom teeth surgery, but it was nowhere near as bad as I had imagined. They took the time to answer all my questions both before and after in the following weeks. I followed all their directions as best as I could, and had very little pain during the recovery period, just mild discomfort in the first few days. Yes, the cost was confusing and I had trouble with the information I got from the business vs. my insurance, but in the end I was refunded the amount I overpaid and I was satisfied. I had the best experience here. The staff was awesome, especially Karen, she is an excellent surgical assistant and so easy to talk to. Dr. Giglou was extremely knowledgeable and confident, which helped with the my confidence going in. I had one remaining wisdom tooth that had to be removed and it was impacted. I opted to stay awake, with the assist of nitrous gas. The procedure was done in a matter of minutes. Dr Giglou was amazing, I would recommend him to anyone. If I need anything done in the future I will be sure to go back to him. read more

Well, my last visit ( previous review) was more or less a bandaid. I was told that I would need to get in asap for the extraction with sedation. Due to a chronic condition I have needed sedation. So the recommendation wasn't news to me. But, being " alone" it's a very difficult thing to find someone who can drive me, wait throughout the procedure, and then get me back home. I called on a Monday morning & was put on a wait list. During that time I could feel the juice from the IV antibiotic treatment wearing off and " Chicken" me was terrified of the pain I'd experienced returning. I ended up calling toward the end of the week and asking to speak directly with the Dr. my appointment was with - who I'd seen before, Dr. Lori Jurgens. I explained to her what was happening. She listened and asked that I stay on hold for a moment. Well, I don't think it was 2 minutes before she got back to me to come in to their Peabody office the next morning- which was a Saturday early (8;00 am) and they would do the procedure! I couldn't thank her enough & said I'd definitely be there. Saturday morning: my ride came in with me. We waited maybe 5 minutes if that. Everything was all set. The receptionist had everything ready. I went into the room where they started my IV for sedation. The whole thing must have taken just a few minutes because when I was in the area where you go afterwards, I looked at my phone.. maybe 15 minutes went by in all? I wasn't in any pain. The staff waited with me while I adjusted after the sedation. I got up to leave & all was great. I was given post surgery instructions that were not hard to follow. Pain was minimum & the healing took the usual amount of time. It's been a week & I'm doing just fine. I can't thank Dr Jurgens & all the staff enough for their kindness! read more

I had a very positive experience with the extraction of my wisdom teeth! All of the staff are very friendly and caring. The doctor played my favorite music and the assistant talked to me until I fell asleep, which helped ease my anxiety of being in the office. If you have anxiety, this is a great place to go to. I must say that when i got there for my first visit I was a bit upset that after i waited for 45 minutes to be seeing when they called me in even though i was suppose to have a procedure done the female dentist that was going to see me ended up not seeing me since she stated that she wasn't aware of doing a procedure and she didn't have time, but then the assistant was able to speak to another dentist DR. GIGLOU who came right in took a look at me and told me he could do the procedure but it would have to be another day since i needed to be more prepared with fasting etc with that said even though i was upset with the miscommunication of the staff and previews dentist I will say I had a great experience on my second visit with DR. GIGLOU he was very friendly, caring and attentive, also let me not forget to mention that i had an extraction of 1 wisdom tooth and 1 molar and he must off done a great job cause my recuperation process was easy and i didnt get as sick as i had been in the past extraction! Today I had a consultation with Dr. Blaeser for my TMJ pain. I am usually very nervous to go to doctors appointments, but the staff was very calming and helpful and put my nerves at ease. I was assisted by Katie and Deb B who were both very thorough and kind, and answered all of my questions. During my consultation Dr. Blaeser suggested making me a night guard and explained to me exactly how it works. He went in to much detail about how my pain was most likely caused and how it would benefit me to have this appliance made. I am surprise he made it this far most folks with his mouth run into a fist. also he does not wear gloves when dealing with blood work how nasty is that. also they quote you one number than send a bill for another amount ... if they was on street without degrees they would be common thieves... Kam & his surgical assistants SANCHA & CINDY, I was completely at ease. I felt confident and well informed of the procedure I was having done. Great experience for my son having wisdom teeth removed. The staff are very experienced and professional. Dr. Todd was upfront about all the potential problems and allowed to ask questions. The office meets all the standards needed to provide surgery. Drs. are trained in ACLS and have full equipment if needed. The nurse anesthetist provides the general anesthesia. Lahey North is only across the parking lot if an emergency transport was necessary. Things to think about after the Joan Rivers case with a free standing surgery center. The recovery nurse Mary was kind and professional. She understood teenage kids as well as their parents needs.We received a followup call at night to see how he was doing and reinforced to call if their is any questions. Let me just say OMG horrific experience! So I go in for a wisdom tooth consult the girls at the desk very nice I'm like ok . Then a man calls me in i believe his name was Isiaha we walk downstairs it was like a dungeon like a basement weird but I'm like ok he didn't introduce himself until we get in the room he was serious not friendly one bit . Then the Dr comes in Lori Jurgens she was so rude I was in Aww I'm like is this real life right now. She sat stone face just like the man and said ok I can't help you basically if we dont do things her exact way leaving me zero input about my mouth I said umm excuse me that's it ? She turned her back and said ok I can't help you zero compassion! She starts writing things as she face a piece of paper . I was already so stressed going into this appointment with pain in my tooth for weeks . I left there so upset . It's like a factory there trust me . I go by reviews so I thought it was very important that I put this up . I did find an amazing dr who helped me and worked with me and we both came up with a plan . thank goodness . If you go make sure all your bills are squared away before you leave. The office manager or whoever handles payments is a real piece of work! They started sending me bills 4 years after my daughter had a her tooth extracted. When i called originally 2 years ago and told them i would not pay the bill because we had paid what we were suppose to out of pocket she became enraged! I recently (this week) 6 years later got two new bills, one in my daughters name and (she is under 18) and one in my husbands name!! I called again and got the same evil woman. She threatened to send it to collections and that it would be on my credit report. (i thought that was hilarious but also borderline harassment)! Moral of the story is ask if there will be any additional bills after you've already made what you thought was the final payment. My mother is elderly was told she had to pay 280 to have her tooth pulled. Its free with her health care united health. We called the insurance company and they confirmed it was free then even called on a confrence call. So basically they are commiting fraud on elderly people. When the dentist signs up to except coverage they agree to the price. So the insurance company is going to try investigating the fraud. I seriously doubt my mother is the only one they tried to scam. They are professional, caring, totally on the ball and quick to respond if there is any issue! My three boys all had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Blaeser. NOT ONLY DID I WAIT FOR AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES FOR A CONSULT... Dr Giglou was horrible to me. Told me I had multiple fractures in my jaw from trauma to my face, which I explained I had trauma to my face from a bad past relationship. He then asked to see my arms and legs and stomach which was very uncomfortable. He was not nice nor made me feel comfortable at all. When I told him I did not want him looking at my body he told me he could not perform my wisdom teeth extractions. Remind you I was only there for wisdom teeth extractions. It made me feel he wanted to look at my body to see if I was being abused, the trauma to my face was caused from an abusive relationship I was in years ago and I am no longer in harms way. If he has been friendly and made me feel comfortable I would of allowed him to look at my body. I told him I go to the dentist once a year but am aware I have some cavities, he looks at me and says "well I doubt that". The man was rude and inconsiderate and can not pick up a clue about woman and boundaries. I told him thanks for all the information he has given me but I would take my business elsewhere. Also... the attitude began when I told him I am very afraid of the dentist; when he abruptly and rudely reminded me he is not a dentist but a oral surgeon. Get off your high horse buddy. read more

My teenage son had jaw surgery about a month ago and it was performed by Dr Bart Blaeser in their Peabody location. My son always commented on how professional and "normal" Dr Blaeser was. He never spoke to us like we should understand and know everything that was going to happen. Extremely professional and kind. The entire staff at that office was AMAZING! Every appointment we went to before and after the surgery was made so much easier by them. Recovery was extremely quick and not one complaint from my son. Had cyst removed in mouth. Went under anesthesia so would not feel the pain. an hour after surgery all the stitches came out. Had to go back get a nova cane and get stitches again! Two hour later one of the stitches came out. Called back and hey closed 15 mins ago. Waiting for on call doc to call back. Will have to go back, get nova cane and stitches. Horrible experience. My daughter had her wisdom teeth out this past week here with Dr. Dipirro, she was extremely kind and I felt very comfortable with her and her staff taking care of my child while she was being sedated for her procedure. Dr. DiPirro's assistant, I believe her name was Michelle, that made my crying daughter feel completely at ease and made her went from tears to laughter. She is still talking about "the nicest nurse ever". I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. DiPirro for any treatment that would be necessary for the mouth. This office is horrible. Kathy at the front desk is extremely rude and heartless all they want is your money. they don't care about your well-being at all. They only care about the dollar amount they can get out of your pocket. I highly recommend to go else where to go somewhere that cares about you. This place is a rip off. Doctor's - exceptionally trained, people persons nurses - friendly, understanding, calming office - hope you're a Boston fan, great decorations/posters, TV, and magazines to read, clean, sometimes hard to get a receptionists attention, but when you do everything is fine I broke my jaw while skiing, so there was a lot of reconstruction and I also lost (evulsed) a tooth (root and all). Dr. Cooke was awesome for the weeks when my jaw healed. Dr. Blaser ended up doing the implant surgery (Cooke was on maternity leave). Both were outstanding. Answered all my questions. Before emergency surgery, Cooke saw my deer-in-the-headlight look and reassured me. Blaser did his own IV and it was perfect, no bruising. My only issue was my one handoff appointment. the doctor I got was not up to speed on my chart and had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. luckily Cooke briefed me on everything to tell the new doctor, so it wasn't a complete disaster. read more

My daughter had 4 wisdom teeth removed here. The standard of actual surgery they did seemed fine, however the problem I have is on the billing side. We have a high deductible insurance policy and because of that, my wife was told at the time she showed up for the surgery she would need to produce a check for $2,000 before our daughter could be seen. This was done, of course, with no prior knowledge on the part of SPOA of how much of our deductible we had actually used. To cut a very long story short, it is now two months later, and I still have not received the more than $1,800 that is owed to me after the insurance company paid up. Each time I call SPOA, I get fobbed off with a story about why the refund can't be made yet. Now, supposedly, the check is in the mail. We shall see. I checked with the insurance company (Harvard Pilgrim) who told me that the provider has no right to demand payment up front. They said that "the provider is a contracted provider with Harvard Pilgrim and the contract states the provider cannot ask for money upfront, they must bill Harvard Pilgrim first, wait for Harvard's payment, and then bill the patient." So watch out - if these people demand a large payment up front, refer them to the terms of their contract with the insurance company, and just refuse to pay it. read more

I had upper jaw surgery performed by Dr. Blaesar about a year and a half ago. He also took care of my wisdom teeth as well. I had a very severe underbite, and when I was younger was the third most difficult case my orthodontist at the time had seen. My treatment then stopped just short of surgery, but when I began having teeth problems as an adult, surgery to align my jaws was the best option, in conjunction with braces again. Dr. Blaesar and his staff did a wonderful job, and looking at before and after pictures of how much of an underbite I used to have compared to my profile now is amazing. The only reason I took one star off is because I did have some issues with the office staff and filling out forms I needed for work. Basically came down to the deadline. Overall, though, Dr. Blaesar did a fantastic job. I had spoken with a few of his patients prior to using him who had all said they would never change the decision to use him, and I likewise felt in good care throughout. read more

I scheduled my 11 year old son to have a tooth pulled and we had talked about the options for anesthesia. Due to his frequent headaches, we decided not to have gas sedation. When we arrived for the appointment and was brought to the procedure room, I was told that given his age that we are doing gas sedation. I regret not speaking up at the time but my son was already nervous and I didn't want to alarm him so I went with it. I then received the bill and I feel they wanted to go this route for monetary reasons. I will not return to this practice and I do not recommend them. read more
