Terrible customer service. Their carpet repair guy canceled on me three times before finally showing up to do the repair. No issue with repair. I just didn't appreciate being jerked around. To add more insult, the owner canceled the carpet cleaning we had scheduled for over a week with no explanation. Decided to cut my losses and schedule with a different company. We called Salem because our special needs child had poured an entire bottle of Tide detergent on our relatively new beautiful oriental rug. Even though our call came in on a Saturday morning, and they were booked all day and through the weekend, they made the time to come see us same day to make sure there would be no permanent damage to the rug. They spent time not only treating our carpet for as long as necessary (it takes a long time to remove detergent, because it keeps producing foam!), but also explained what they were doing every step of the way and why they used a certain way to preserve the rug. An illustration of how a genuine handwoven oriental rug looks, before (lower half) and after (upper section) the "deep cleaning". That type of cleaning is done by brushing the carpet with hand first and thereafter steam out the dirt. This is a little bit more expensive but the results are amazing. The hand brushing makes the difference and understandably the extra labor will be included in the price. They also clean the carpet from both sides, basically meaning you get two for the price of one. The steam cleaning alone has results also but not as good this make sure you ask for "deep cleaning". Overall the service is very affordable and they are very flexible in scheduling and individualizing their process. read more

He was kind enough to come out and rescue me by cleaning our house's carpets the day before I was hosting a huge party. When one of his guys became unavailable to assist him, he came in and completed the job by himself anyway - even if it took much longer (so grateful for this since many businesses would have just rescheduled if the job was going to be even minorly inconvenient for them.) Our white carpets looked great after the job was done and he put everything (area rungs, floor lamps, etc.) back in their place when he was done. Fair pricing too! Very professional and thorough. It does not get much better than this. Ahmed and his team got right to work on the 3-level townhouse. He also offered to assist me with other household chores and moving. I have used Sears in the past and stains were still present. With Violet, they do as they promise, no upcharges or double talk. Mr.Ahmed and his helper did a fantastic job in my one bedroom apartment. I had a fantastic experience since I scheduled my appointment with them until they leave the house. At the beginning I was worry about hiring a service to clean my carpet (Even when I used a voucher from Living Social) because I hear it is a rip off and they always overcharge you for the each dirty spot or pet accidents that they should find. When I made my appointment they apologized for not be in the neighborhood soon enough they reschedule my appointment on a holiday and It was OK for me because I was at home. The call me letting me know they will be at home with 30 min anticipation. They arrive and in less than 30 minutes they clean all my apartment with no signs it all from dirty spots, no strong odors o chemicals in the environment. after another 2 hours my carpet was not wet it all ready to be vacuum it as Ahmed suggest after is not wet. I was very impressed at the state of my carpet after it was cleaned; I should have taken a before picture. The carpet was never cleaned for the past 8 years and they were able to take almost all the dirt out. I am sure if they spent even more time it would looked almost new. The owner was very courteous and trustworthy. I had to leave my home to run an errand and when I returned he and his worker were still hard at work. I have two cats and the material he uses is pet safe and biodegradable. I require any visitors to my home to remove their shoes which always is a bit uncomfortable so, it was welcoming to see that they immediately put on booties. I told the owner that if I ever move I will be sure to call him again for do the rest of my carpets. Now that I understand that I should regularly clean my carpets he will be my go-to service. I purchased a voucher from Amazon Local. first call to make an appointment the phone was answered by a woman who was not interested in helping me. called back the next day and spoke to a man to schedule, 8am a bit early due to getting kiddos out to school, but a worked it out. he asked me to text him address etc, I included my home # too. day of appt... up early, cleared rooms of extra stuff, received text at 7:30 he was "out of town" and would be there at 10:30. At 10:30 received txt he was on his way, at 11:30 still no show. I cancelled and got a refund from Amazon local. I have other things to do in my life than sitting around for carpet people. I THINK he probably got a non voucher job (more $?) and they wanted the early slot. PLUS... he should have had the business etiquette to CALL me and not text me, since I didnt look at my CELL phone(I'm home waiting for you, call me at home) until nearly 9... which because he was so far a no show at 8, already had me annoyed. read more
