I have used Salinas Pump in the past and they were great. Our booster pump went out, and I wanted to use them again. They strung me along for 3 months, but refused to even come out and look at our booster pump and well. They are clearly too busy for repeat clients, so I can't imagine how badly they would treat a new client. I would definitely choose another company. read more

*FRAUD AND PRICE GOUGING* I suggest you read through this if you are considering hiring them. We live out in Arroyo Seco we're not many people service us. We got a quote from Salinas Pump company that was utterly ridiculous. We needed a new pump and on the quote paper that he sent me The equipment he tried to way overcharge. The equipment added up to about $1900 And they said what was due was $4600. Luckily I'm smart enough to add things up myself. Then about a month ago maybe two months he quoted me $120 per hour per man It would send two men. On the quote he tried charging me $2700 (to replace a simple well pump that isn't deep). I called him on both things and the overcharge for the equipment his answer was oh I'm sorry I'll have the office fix it and when I add it up the labor cost and called him on that he told me that they just upped the labor costs October 1st. His total bill at the end was for $7700 And of course things didn't add up they tried to price gouge me. I don't know if because I'm a female and they don't think I read or I'm able to but I did simple math and the total came out to not anywhere close to that. It was a contract that was sent. After questioning him on a number of things due to price and "mistakes" , I got a text message several days later saying that he would not service us anymore. You better make sure that you add up the bill to make sure they're not overcharging you like they tried to do to me. I suggest not going with them at all. I strongly suggest going with somebody else like industrial pump company. Their prices are drastically drastically lower customer service was great. I needed a pump replacement. I called three companies for estimates. Salinas Pump sent a very unprofessional looking crew and after spending less than 30 seconds with the equipment gave me their opinion: the whole system needed to be replaced, and the cost would be thousands of dollars. Other two companies sent professional looking people. They ran some tests and took their time. Both agreed that the problem was only one component, not the whole system. The final cost of repairs was an order of magnitude less than Salinas Pump. When I told them I was not going to use their service, they tried to bill me for the estimate! I never agreed that the estimate would have a cost, and nobody else tried to charge me for the privilege of taking my money. Company should be avoided given these dishonest practices. read more

LIARS AND THIEVES! Salinas Pump charged me over $4,000 for work they never did. We repeatedly contacted them through the course of two years for the work. When I called to find out why, after two years, the pump was still not functioning properly, they only then informed me that they never did the replacement. I demanded a full refund with interest. Owner, Pam Thompson, refused. She also refused to speak with me directly and had her office person, Alicia Huerta, communicate that they would not be giving me a full refund. I had to email and call daily asking for the refund and have my property management company call as well. Thompson had Huerta send me a letter saying my property management company (who I have been happy with for four years) was to blame. Thompson then said that the reason they kept my money so long was that my property management company had fired their employee responsible for the account. Not True! The person managing the account was not fired. Also, I had been copied on all the communication to and from Salinas Pump and knew they were the ones causing the delay. It is very unprofessional to tarnish an individual's reputation by saying they were fired - even if true. If you value professionalism, honesty, and courteous customer service - AVOID SALINAS PUMP. I wish there were a -5 rating for this place. read more

Salinas Pump has given us amazing customer service. Aaron and Tommy have been great to deal with! I called at 6:50 am on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend, and by noon Aaron had water back in the house for us. So happy to be able to rely on them. read more

I've just had a disastrous experience with Salinas Pump, and wanted to share with others who may be thinking of using them. I have a 650-foot-deep well that stopped working, and it appeared that there was a crack in the drop-pipe, because the motor current measured fairly normal, but no water was making its way to the surface. Mark Thornton, the owner, committed to pull the pump for $1,200, do additional work on an additional basis, and reinstall the pump for $1,200. I assumed that I would need to replace the drop pipe because of the damage, and perhaps replace the pump just to be safe. Mark apparently sent the "B team," because knowing the potential for a damaged pipe, they started lifting the assembly out of the ground without holding the cable as a safety precaution. After getting about 40 feet of pipe out of the ground, the damaged pipe broke loose about 190 feet down. The pump, remaining drop pipe, and cable all went flying down the hole. A worker was hurt when a wooden spool used to collect the cable was tossed about. Within two hours of starting work, Salinas Pump had taken an $8,000 well maintenance project (including a new pump and drop pipe), and turned it into a potential loss of a $55,000 well. Mark had two guys work for two days trying to remove the cable, pipe and pump, but they made little progress on the second day. Mark called today to say that he's $7,000 into the project and wanted to know what I wanted to do at this point! I told him that I expected him to make this right, that he had the resources to make this right, and offered a few alternatives. He said he wasn't willing to do any of those things, and said, "Good luck!" I now have lost my well, and have no idea whether I can repair it, or whether I need to spend $55,000 to replace it. Once I know my damages, I'll likely take legal action. In the meantime, I wanted to warn other people who may want to use Salinas Pump. Mark Thornton is not a person who takes responsibility for his own actions, and he's not a person who will make things right when his crew makes a mistake. He in fact had the gall to threaten to bring OSHA out to my ranch because of unsafe work conditions! read more

BEWARE, not recommended. I had problem with PG&E power surge and called for them to service once I discovered controls were fried. I requested they replace only what was fried which appeared to only to be the Warrick control modules. They showed up unscheduled with no notice blocked access to my tenants and were bothered when asked to move. They billed me for new controls and new control modules to the tune of $2k. Tommy's boss I assume was A-Aron told and gave him a used 240v module to use instead of correct 120v module. They didn't replace the base for the module also. I went to check my water level in the two holding tanks a week later and was nearing no water. I opened control box and discovered the used module. When confronted they told me that the tanks were never filling to capacity anyway. It's been over a month now and controls are still not working properly. I confronted Tommy on his workmanship and not replacing wire nuts in underground box with waterproof connectors that were there previously and he told me "that's the way he always does it and that they've been in business for 60 years how long have I been in business" I called A-Aron yesterday and told him controls are still not working properly and he said they're not coming out any more cause I was being hostile and didn't want to have Tommy put me in the hospital... These guys are very full of themselves dishonest and do not believe in customer service. I've been a customer of theirs for almost 20 years and had never had a problem until A-aron and Tommy came into the picture. BEWARE read more
