I stopped by here two Sundays ago with my wife and twins. Every Sunday we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this day it was Sally Ann's. Since I was driving my wife ran in to get us our coffees. As such I didn't see much inside but she did mention that there was a small area on the side to order coffee and then a whole lot of seating if you were eating in. For our coffees on this morning my wife ordered me a cinnamon roll latte while she went with a hazelnut latte. After I drove around a bit my wife had our coffees and we were on our way. My coffee here ended up being pretty good as it tasted quite a bit like a cinnamon roll. So it had that strong cinnamon flavor along with the sweetness you would expect. It didn't cover up the coffee either and I could definitely still taste it in the background. My wife really enjoyed her coffee here as well. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees here and I would love to actually try sit down breakfast at some time. read more

I loved the vibe of Sally Ann's! We went to brunch and the service, food and drinks were delicious. Our waitress (Lauren) was very attentive and polite! I had the Sally Ann's Breakfast which was your basic breakfast items but was really good and a great portion for one person. The mimosas were a good size and yummy! This is located downtown on 6th street, so you do have to find paid parking/garage, which can be annoying ($12 to park for 2 hours) but I highly recommend checking out the restaurant! read more

Such a cute brunch spot in downtown Pittsburgh! The vibes inside are really retro. Funky decor, pop art, colorful lighting, and really inviting comfy interior. The menu has some unique and healthy food options, which was nice to see! They have everything from toasts, to bowls, sandwiches, pastries, and more. Went with a few friends for a birthday brunch and I got the açaí yogurt bowl which was topped with a ton of fresh fruit, granola, and coconut flakes. The yogurt wasn't sweetened at all which is just how I like it :) Would recommend if you're looking for a fun brunch spot in the city. This was my second time at Sally Ann's and I've enjoyed both times. My family and friend loved it too. It's such a cute restaurant. They did a great job with the renovation. The wait staff have always been very gracious and helpful. They check on you multiple times and make sure you have what you need. Everyone loved the food. It was absolutely amazing from the coffees to the food. The first time I came, I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was amazing as were the potatoes. My husband and my friend really liked the Sally Ann's breakfast. I loved the burger. It was one of the best burgers that I've ever had. My cousin loved his chicken and waffles. Both were crispy and delicious. My cousin liked her egg bagel sandwich. Can't wait to come back and try other things. read more

Perfect place to go if you want overpriced food, horrible service and an overall bad time. I went this morning with my friend, and we immediately felt off kilter about the place. It has a weird vibe, as if they don't understand what theme they want it to be. TVs are on every wall and in every booth as if it is a sports bar, and the lighting is dim. Especially great environment on a dreary day like today. However, there is bright looking pop art on the walls and eclectic wallpaper which should give a warmer vibe. Besides that, we were seated and the server seemed as if she wanted to be anywhere else but working right now. Her monotone voice and unwelcoming personality were a great start to our meal. My friend originally was going to get the avocado toast ($19...), however we both opted for the BEC sandwich, and she got a side of vegan sausage and orange juice. She does not like eggs, so asked for the egg on the side and I would have it. I do not like bacon so I asked for bacon on the side and she would have it. An amazing plan! We put our order in and waited for the food. When it arrives 10 minutes later (actually not bad!), the look of the food immediately throws us off. Her side of egg given to me also had a melted slice of cheese on top. She did not ask for the cheese to be on the side. When asking our waiter kindly for a slice of cheese for her sandwich, she replies "The cheese comes on the egg." in a sarcastic manner. This firmly established that the negative vibe we felt was real. As we began to eat, I found out that the egg itself is just a sliced slab (sheet pan cooked, not fried, and unseasoned) with a slice of Kraft American cheese on top. Very worth $19!!!!!!! The potatoes were ok but clearly overly well done. The vegan sausage that my friend had was very over seasoned with fennel and salt and was practically uneatable. Ultimately, I left extremely unsatisfied with my food and experience. Do NOT go here!!! So much better diner and breakfast food in Pittsburgh that will not break the bank and has the friendliest, nicest environment that you want to see in the morning. read more

Very nice breakfast/brunch spot. I loved the seating. Indoor and outdoor. The booths were adorable! The menu is very small...I do wish they had more items to choose from! I tried the benedict which was really good but I think the kale overpowers most of the flavor with the amount They put on it. I love the kale it taste good but not even theirs more kale than the actual food. They also had a pretty big coffee/drink menu. Probably more coffee to choose from than actual food items. Nothing beats an upscale, delectable brunch where you can have coffee two ways. An espresso martini and a comforting drip coffee were the perfect complement to the salmon toast. The picture does not do justice - the slice of toast was huge and plentiful. So many levels of flavor from the smoke of the salmon, to the pop of capers, and fresh dill. I wanted another slice! Red fife sourdough was fantastic. For all those in the sourdough craze - get this! The wife got chicken and waffles, and I kept stealing bites. I will get that next time! Alright, this place has won me over. Diner / bar with arcade games at some of the tables (don't think they were all working that morning). Love the 60s diner vaporwave decor / vibes. I should've looked at photos, because it is not. This place is so cool inside with the neon sign, pop art, and the booth tables with old NES systems. The one downside is it is insanely loud. Like ear piercing at times. We had salmon toast and a croque madame. I had ordered avocado toast but they were out of avocados (minutes later I saw them walk by with an avocado toast???). The croque was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and comforting. I couldn't finish it because I downed an oatmilk vanilla latte - which was incredible. Our waiter was attentive, and nice. Definitely recommend a reservation, as walk ups you might have a wait. It was 11:30 and we had a 45 min wait for two. If we visited PGH again, I'd absolutely go here again. read more

Sally Ann's was an original brunch experience. The restaurant gave me the vibe of Hawaiian/tropical beach shack, with a bit of retro/Grandmother's dining table style? Maybe because of the blue gingham napkins haha. Service was super friendly. However, one thing I felt could be improved was that the water cups were a bit used for such a new restaurant and were wet. I think it'd be nice to have glasses instead of plastic cafeteria style cups since I felt it was more of an expensive brunch place. The food was original and did not disappoint. I always enjoy the food from restaurants owned by this restaurant group as they never fail to find a new twist on classic menus. I always look up what new restaurants they've opened when I am craving a meal out but am tired of the same old food. The plates were also beautiful. Love the laid back vibe of this cute little spot downtown that has outdoor dining options. We didn't get a chance to eat there, but we were able to snag a few drinks. The server was so kind and accommodating to ensure that my drink was just perfect. Be sure to check out their hibiscus tea....it was delicious and refreshing. Hard FALL Launch!!! Sally's Ann right on 6th downtown Pittsburgh is the cutest spot! Great coffee and food. Went on a mission to check out their new fall coffee lattes! Tried the maple bourbon and it did not disappoint. It is like a brisk autumn walk through the woods! The flavors are a perfect combination. I am also very intrigued by the Caramel Chair Cider- sounds like apple-picking in liquid form!!! Quaint and eclectic breakfast/brunch eatery, just off the Clemente Bridge. There were four in our party. Went about 9:15 am and were seated right away. Very comfortable vibe, although televisions EVERYWHERE. Short but varied menu. I had the avocado toast, my spouse did a traditional scrambled eggs and bacon. My friends had the Quiche Lorraine and a Crème Brûlée French Toast. Avocado toast was overflowing with goodness. Asian seasonings, micro herbs and a soft boiled egg on top of mounds of avocado. Only challenge was the bread crust was very crispy which made it a little difficult to cut without shooting it across the table. My spouse didn't say much and finished her eggs and bacon; no words usually means pretty good. Bacon was well-smoked, thick-cut and there were several strips! Quiche Lorraine was a huge slice and the egg custard was velvety with a nice crust. There was a side of greens which added texture. The French Toast was also a large portion. Two, thick slices of bread and heaping toppings. My friend had been concerned it would be super-sweet because of the icing, but the dish managed to be sweet without being saccharine. Coffee was a dark roast, rich and hot, and there was plenty of it. Service was great and, while it took a little time for the food to come from the kitchen, it was evident that it was due to care and attention. Food done well - like this - takes time. The breakfast sandwich and french toast were very very good. The vibe is also really cool. It's decorated really well and they had a DJ playing on Sunday afternoon. All very cool day party vibes. But, the service style is very annoying. This is my only criticism. We waited in 3 lines and had been there for an hour before we got any food. They need to make some adjustments because this is not sustainable. You cannot expect your guests to wait in 3 different lines just to place an order. This needs some adjustments. Here's like waiting summary: - They do not take reservations so we waited in line to put in our name - Then we went to the bar while we waited for a table and we waited in line to order a drink there. - After we got our table we learned that you have to go to a booth to order your food and we waited in line again there. We had a group reservation for brunch on Sunday and were seated in one of the booths. The decor is so fun and colorful! We had the option to play a 2-person video game at the table while we waited, which was different and appreciated. We ordered a variety of food and drinks and everything was great. One thing that stood out as odd is that one of the group asked for no mustard on his sandwich and he was told that it was "already pre-portioned out" and he couldn't remove the mustard. I personally had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy and the roasted peaches on top of the waffles took the experience to the next level. Being new to the Pittsburgh area, Sally Ann's was one of the first places that popped on my Yelp radar and I was super excited to go. Fair warning, Sunday mornings here are not for the faint of heart!! There's a DJ, crowds of laughter and mimosas flowing from the moment you get in. I ate on the bar top and ordered the Bacon Egg and Cheese and the Hash brown and in complete honesty, both were some of the best food items I've had in PGH so far. The egg is prepared as a soufflé and it is decadent to say the least. As for the hashbrown, it could very well stand alone as it's own entree, with perfectly crisp edges and seasoning galore. I really appreciate how kind and helpful all of the staff was as well to a nervous Nancy eating alone!! 10/10 looking forward to all the growth that this spot is going to have!! read more

I got eggs Benedict about 100000000 times at a brunch, made it myself but never saw without a yolk and uncooked after we asked to make it the way it is supposed to looks like. Unfortunately I missed our wait staffs name but, she was great. I had the TK-BLT with breakfast potatoes from the all day breakfast menu. The sandwich was so tasty and incredibly filling. So much so I have taken the potatoes home to eat later. The flamingo toothpicks in the sandwiches are amazing!! I also had the Draft "Oat" Latte, it was quite tasty. My colleague had the Club from the lunch menu with the Ranch chips. He said the sandwich and chips were great. The only slight issue we had was he had asked for the sandwiches mayo on the side and it was still put on the sandwich. We sat outside on the patio and it was lovely but, I love the feel of the inside of the restaurant. I definitely will be back again. read more

If you're looking for an old fashioned breakfast place, this one isn't it. If you want early morning with annoying music, disco lights and a 15 dollar breakfast sandwich then you should come here. Not my style, but hey service was great I would recommend delucas or Pamela's if you want good value for breakfast, not too far away. Also it's pretty clear they don't rotate the wine bottles for their by the glass options,(glass of osmosis SB was flat and sour) The main reason for the one star however was the bartender. The gentleman didn't say hello to me or to any of the following 4 customers. Didn't bother to check if I could get my Caesar with just gem lettuce (instead he said I dunno and just glared at me). He was slow to acknowledge anyone, slammed down anything he picked up and was generally unpleasant to everyone to the point that I didn't stick around to try the kale Caesar salad I cancelled the order paid for my old vinegar-y glass of wine and bounced. It was great to see Turkey Devonshire on the menu, a specialty that originated in Pittsburgh in 1934. This dish was flavorfully executed. I was hoping to see chef Jamilka Borges in the kitchen, as there was great fanfare when she was hired as Executive Chef, however Jamilka has since left that position. My husband and I decided to do brunch to celebrate our anniversary. We've been wanting to check this place out for awhile. We were there on a Sunday -- they have a dj every Sunday. Some people might not be into that but we loved it. It was an upbeat vibe, felt very NYC. My husband had the Egg Ric Muffin and said it was delicious. It had a hash brown on it that he said was perfectly crispy on the outside. He also had a side of fruit. I had the quiche of the day which had bacon and sautéed onions in it. And another veggie which I can't recall now. The texture on it was perfect! It came with a side salad. I also had an espresso martini which was perfectly mixed. My husband had just espresso and said it was very good. We also shared a giant cinnamon roll (I mean, we were celebrating ). The presentation was lacking and there was way too much icing. My friend and I went to Sally Ann's for brunch before a show at the Byham, and it was a great decision! I would recommend making a reservation as it was quite crowded the entire time we were there. The interior is adorable with different styles of tables and chairs and a few old-school video games, and our server, Alex, was super nice! The mimosas were wonderful; they weren't overly sweet, and they were topped with a dried orange slice. The portion was rather small, so I recommend purchasing a carafe if you plan to have a few with a friend. We both order the "Sally Ann's Breakfast," which was SO good, but it was slightly pricey at $19. The breakfast potatoes were not the traditional homefries, but they were still good - I just wish there had been more on the plate. Overall, it was a great experience!
