The store was stocked, had sale items well marked, and I received A+ customer service FROM ZARA in finding a flat iron... couple that with some OPI on sale and some Mielle serum and my perspective on Sally's was converted. Store sign says open at 11 AM on Sundays it was 11:45a.m. and 95° outside and no one was there to open up. This was very inconveniencing for all of the customers who were left outside awaiting the opening. Terrible customer service read more

Ashley, Noelle and Lesley we're super sweet and eager to help me figure out what I need to get and how to use the products properly. I had an amazing first experience at this store. I have been wanting to bleach my own hair for a while now. I've been watching DIY videos and reading articles on how to do so safely. But there were so many warnings and horror stories that made me scared to do it myself. I had my hair bleached twice at the salon and just couldn't afford to keep going. I have thick black Asian hair that requires multiple bleaching sessions to get blonde The store clerks helped show me all my product options, what tools I needed, how to use it, the best order to get the results I wanted and how to take care of my newly bleached hair. I am happy to say the results were great and I saved a lot of money and time at the salon. If you need any beauty supplies, this particular shop is a great place to get them. NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN! Sally was once the only game in town. However there are many other options especially when it comes to products for natural hair. They have been a little slow to keep up because they are just very small. Being so small means that they just don't have the room to carry the volume that the specialty stores carry. They are also competing with the discount stores like Walmart and Target when it comes to basic hair supplies for their ethnic customers. While Sally's may not be the best option for hair care products, they still have a great selection of products for hands, feet and skin. I do love to purchase my grooming tools, (combs and brushes) here as well. They have a very friendly customer return process in case you are not happy with your purchase. I appreciate this store when I am on vacation and need products. I may not know the other stores in the area, but I can always count on Sally's. read more

A previous review by another Yelper points out that you can get anything you want, next day!, by using Amazon. Yep, I'm outta here! I've so enjoyed shopping here and mixing up all sorts of haircolor combinations, getting really hands-on and being able to see all of these products under one roof. It just isn't worth it anymore though. Why is it that I have to give you my email address every time I make a purchase? You've had it for 10 years and send me at least 1 email per day. I have my card, you still want my phone # to pull up my account and then want my email address again. No one can explain why your system won't remember it and the cashiers always act like you can't get credit for your purchase without it. It's a real pain to be behind 5 people and everyone has to go through this ridiculously long process just to buy stuff. The manager of this store is hostile to customers and downright nasty to employees and thanks to Ebay and Amazon I no longer have to deal with it. Sally Beauty has never been the leader in good customer service but since this woman took over a few years ago it's like walking into enemy territory. I know she's a nasty little twit so I don't fool with her but I cringe when I hear an unenlightened newcomer dare to ask her a question. Being a frequent, loyal customer I have accumulated 2 coupons through their rewards program for a free product under $10. Great, right!? Nope. I make a special trip to the shop and take my $10.99 product to the register. Nasty twit manager tells me the coupon is ONLY valid for items UNDER $10. I cannot have the $10 discount and give her the .99 (+tax). Nope, she refuses to do it and tells me there's no override, no way. Okey dokey, back to the drawing board. I come back to the register 2 minutes later with a $6 product (losing $4 credit) and now she tells me that in the last 2 minutes the system has gone down and that it has been down all day. "WHAT?", I ask... "I was up here 2 minutes ago and you didn't mention it. "Sorry, not my fault, corporate has to fix it". Boom, that's all she has to say. I informed her that my time was more important than $20 worth of coupons and left. I get in my car and think...hmmmm, really my time is pretty cheap this particular day, let me waste some more of it and call corporate. I called and explained the situation to a rep who put me on hold so she could call nasty twit manager. She comes back on the line and tells me that she has spoken with this manager and the manager says now she can do an override and honor my coupons. Nah, it's not worth it. I'll take the loss on the coupons, I've already perused Amazon and the prices are comparable and I have Prime so I can get free shipping. I'll miss browsing the new products and the clearance aisles but I won't miss the piss-poor service. Goodbye Sally Beauty Supply. read more

Alas, I see exactly why this store received so many negative ratings. Rarely do I leave a one-star rating, so when I do, it has to be VERY BAD. I visited a Sally's Beauty Supply store yesterday to purchase cuticle cream. Despite my hesitation to do so, the manager convinced me to try the hair extensions I was looking at on my way to the register. Mind you, I did not go there with any intention of purchasing hair extensions. I have never used hair extensions, nor do I necessarily need them. However, she was a good salesperson and described their benefit and value. She also explained their ease of application. Nevertheless, I made the purchase, which cost well over $100. The manager promised that if I was not satisfied, she would gladly accept my return for a refund within 7 days. When I got home later that evening, I regretted my purchase and decided against using them. I did not open the package and decided to return them. Today I drove about 20 miles to return the purchase. The Sally's I visited was at another location. The extensions were in their original unopened package, and I had the receipt with me. As soon as I entered the store and mentioned I had a return, the store clerk, IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS who were standing in line, loudly exclaimed, "Oh we do NOT ALLOW the exchange of "hair"! I felt like crawling under a rock -- I was so embarrassed! Shame on the manager, LESLIE, of this store for allowing her associates to treat good customers like the trash I was made to feel like. I made no fuss about it, but did show her the receipt where the manager had written "can be returned within 7-days of purchase". The clerk told me to go back to the same store from which I came. Oh my gosh how insulting!!! Shame shame shame! Do these people realize WE pay their salaries??? Prior to driving all the way across town to the original store from which I purchased them, I called the manager, Nicole, and explained what had just happened. Nicole was shocked to hear I was treated this way. She urged me to return to the store while she stayed on the phone with me. I did as Nicole suggested, and went back to the store. The rude sales associate must have heard me on the phone with Nicole, because rather than acknowledge me when she finished ringing up the customers in front of me, she rudely turned her back to me and got on her phone. She must have called her manager because all I could hear was loud yelling through the telephone! The sales associate hung up the phone and exclaimed, "my manager Leslie said we do not accept "hair" returns." "Next time read the back of your receipt!" I walked out of the store quietly, and in shock at the way I was treated. This is unacceptable and inappropriate in every way! Leslie is not a manager. She displays despicable customer service and unless she receives the appropriate training and counseling, this store WILL go out of business. Shame on you, Leslie!!! It is obvious to me that Leslie does not empower her associates to use their own minds to make good judgment calls. Sadly, this is known as micro-management; an ineffective way to manage others. I think it would be most appropriate for Leslie to shadow a REAL manager, NICOLE, who understands not only good salesmanship and customer service, but also, how to treat others with dignity and respect. read more

This is the second time on a Sunday that I have arrived and they have closed one hour early then actual closing time. I'm actually standing out here with three other customers that were trying to get in and they are closed and it is 5 o'clock and they say they close at 6 lights are on and nobody's here... very inconvenient we're all moms out here planning out our day! read more

I was very disappointed with my recent visit to Sallys. As I was looking through the clearance items and talking to an employee, the manager started yelling at me and my sister saying they had to put their truck away and we were being a distraction. The employee was wonderful and helpful, however this is the worst managing I have ever seen. I am a paying customer and was having a conversation. I am furious and will never return to this location again!!! read more

This is the best store I have ever been in the girls that work there are the best they helped me and made sure that I was finding everything okay. I have had multiple bad experiences with this store. One Saturday, I came to the store about 45 minutes after they opened. Me and another customer found the doors to be locked with lights on. The other customer that was waiting with me told me that she saw the sales associate lock the door and drive off. How can you just leave the store 45 minutes after its scheduled to be opened? There was no note or anything! It was extremely inconvenient because I was going out of town that day. I've continued to shop with them because of the convenience of the location, but after the past few horrible experiences I've started ordering my products off amazon! I will not shop with them again. They have been rude and absolutely unprofessional. That store in particular will not be getting my business ever again! read more
