Haven't been here in a long time but I needed a few things so I stopped in. It is located in the Plaza Mayor, next to Ralph's with plenty of parking. The store is very well stocked and the shelves are very organized and pristine. The store clerk was very helpful and knew her products. As a prudent shopper, I checked prices on Amazon and one item I was interested in was much higher at Sally's and they do not price match. Buyer beware. Little confused it's Sunday 1/19 and it says store is suppose to be open @10AM got here at 11AM waiting until 11:23AM to see if a employee would come back to open the store but it remained closed even though it says the store should be open and the lights are on and there is absolutely no indication or sign of any emergency or explanation? Within this time span there were about 6 other customers just a confused as they walked up to the door and it was not open? My wife has been a professional cosmetologist for 5 years, and religiously buys all of her supplies and needs from Sally's. In the past we have had zero issues with their products, and as such, have been loyal with our business. However, 3 days ago, my wife purchased some trimmers for around $75, and after only a few uses, the trimmers have gone faulty and no longer work. After visiting the store for an exchange, a very rude employee informed her that nothing could be done. I contacted their customer care personally, and they were equally as cold and offered zero solutions. Buyer beware, they have an all sales final policy on their trimmers, regardless of how quickly they go faulty. Moving forward, we will be doing our shopping through Amazon, as the pricing is lower and the exchange service is better. Sally's, you lost a loyal customer over your inability to do a simple exchange on a $75 item. read more

Last time I was here, my mom asked if they could check in the back for a specific hair color that was out of stock and the girl took the time to find it. My mom was so thankful. They are often not fully stocked; I came looking for hair products and they were mostly out of the particular line for sexy-messy beachy waves. I bought the lone item sitting on the shelf. Since I usually reserve hair/beauty days for when I visit the girls in my family, I shop here and not the one close to my place in Oceanside. I will return. Do not buy extensions here period. I specifically asked in store prior to purchasing if I could return because I was taking them to my stylist to see if the color matched. I was told yes I could as long as it's in the original packaging. I brought it back in full packaging two days after as my stylist said it was too bright for what we are going for and was told by two stores as well as customer service that I can't even get store credit. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED, if I was given correct information I would not have purchased at all....now I'm sitting with extensions I cannot use and not even store credit. I drove to two locations and called customer service. Incredibly inconsiderate of the employee who gave me the wrong information when she could have told me there was a high chance of no return at all. I just had a horrible experience. I will never support Sally's again. Their employees are beyond rude!!! It was 6:03pm and my mother and I saw customers inside as we arrived. We got out of the car and saw that it was locked with a sign indicating they could only have a certain number of people inside we figure that's how they are monitoring social distancing. As we wait and talk the employee comes over to unlock the door and closes it right in my mother's and my face and says "we are closed." There was no eye contact, no information shared about the different hours of operation, no courtesy for their customers what so ever! I tell her through the glass "that was rude" and the other employee yells "thank you" in a sarcastic tone. I tell them their store hours still read open until 8pm and they say "read the sign." They wanted me to read the paper sign they printed out and taped to their window and wrote on with black marker, real professional. So thank you Sally's for hiring rude, incompetent people to represent your store absolutely no customer service. It makes it easier to never go back. read more

I came in today, to get a little of everything. Tiffany helped me. She didn't know about the bleach products I was referencing, Ion brand, but we managed.. not her recommendation. And, the bleach came out great, probably, but I used the treatment she was loading me up with, "you want them all, right!?"... "4 for $25!!" ..no!! But, I took her recommendation of Ion Blu Pigments, deep conditioning treatment, and got out of the shower. I am completely blue, my hands after scrubbing seen in the photo. Listen, if you don't know the products, that recommendation is whack!! She said she uses this every week in a different color. I'm a complete blueberry, and my roots are awful now!! Horrible result, and bare minimum, should be to ask if I needed more gloves, because for the treatment, gotta use those, or at least explain that it's extremely intense, lots of color!! I went back yesterday to return a curling iron. I told the slim young girl (maybe latinx) with short hair a (a bit damaged btw)if she knew of a curling iron that would work on stubborn hair. I told her this was my 4th curling iron I return in recent years because I can't find a good one. I've had great advice from other employees in the past. But this employee had the audacity to say "you are probably curling your hair wrong that's why you can't do it right". I was trying to be polite and even asked her to rephrase her answer because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She repeated the same thing but added, "I know people that curl their hair wrong all the time, maybe you need a curler with a clamp". I asked her to look at the one I was returning it had a clamp. She wasn't even paying attention to what item I was returning! She went on to say " better luck next time, hope you learn the curling techniques". I replied with, "my friend is a hairstylest down the street, and she is definitely knowledgeable about irons, but told me to return this one because I need a better one like the chi." As I was leaving she says "yeah your should learn to curl and buy more expensive irons". By that point, I knew their was no point in talking to someone so negative. I am disappointed as a regular customer that usually spends $100+ to have been treated this way. I don't know if its a race thing. But this is unacceptable. Sally's you need to do better and train your employees to not be so rude. I thought Sally's employees were supposed to be professionally trained on beauty advice. But I was so wrong. Okay so I recently cut my hair and had it bleached, with that being said I was in total dismay when I seen my yellow hair, (Remind you, I am clueless when it comes to hair) so a friend of mine suggested that I go to Sally's Beauty Supply. I am so happy I took my friend's advice because as soon as I walked in I was completely lost and I was greeted by the nicest woman named Michelle I believe. She was so informative about the products that I needed and she even suggested a few more helpful products for my hair. I am an African American woman with 4b/4c hair so it was extremely refreshing to see someone who had experience with my particular texture of hair. I've been a customer of Sally's since ways back. I used to frequent this store back in NY and was so happy to see it was here right on PCH in Torrance. I love their products...especially the one's I've been buying for years now. though, in true Marisa style I have yet to figure out..is it 'Beyond the Zone" , the "Beyond Zone" ?? whatever it is ...I like it , it makes my curly hair nice and curly and wonderful. Ya, like I use a lot of hair care products right? Well, A Mach III razor does my head wonders. But, I have bought a pair of clippers here, and balding shears. Very quality products!!! (Used them when I kept a lil grass on the noggin) Bald by choice not by genetics..hahahaaa They have a pretty good selection of hair care products too. I know this, cuz I have a teen age daughter. She is the fluffy type of gurl, who needs straightening irons, several combs, a selection of brushes, gel, shine, spray, mousse, shampoos, conditioners, nail polish...... Great experience at the store. I don't go that often. I am not in the beauty industry but I do like to cut my kids hair and my husbands hair. I did some at home bleaching for my son. I like some of the generic hair products for hubby and I buy shampoo and conditioner for me. Sometimes I get cosmetics and I love the hair color applicator for gray spots but I use it on my eyebrows. That's my favorite. Every employee is super helpful and approach me personally to see how they can assist. I appreciate that because excellent customer service means the most to me in selecting a business. I had previously went to the one on Rosecrans and I never felt more uncomfortable at a store. I felt so rushed to purchase my things and leave. The girls had like no excitement or nothing. They were just so serious. So I went to the one on PCH and I felt like they had their whole attention to me. I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for at least 5yrs now. Today I experienced horrible service. I have a small dog that has been with me into the store on various occasions without a problem. Well, today he picked one of those foam toe dividers for pedicures in his mouth, since they were located so close to the ground. Ok, I understand that was annoying, so of course, I'm going to pay for the $1.08 item. The girl working there told me to take the dog out, so basically we don't want your business. After, I paid for the damaged foam, you're going to still kick us out? I was shocked and when I told her and the other worker that I want the managers' number, they were both very rude and "I don't understand what I said wrong". Maybe someone should give these two a lesson in customer service. For $1.08, you have lost some good business, would have been today and in the future. But after being treated like that, would you feel like putting your dog in the car and go inside to shop, which was my original plan? I think not. I will not return to this store. If I could give zero stars like they deserve I would give them that. Let me start off by saying this store has the worst customer service ! Basically all of the employees don't know anything about the products they sell or hair itself . I recently went this past Wednesday to purchase new extensions to dye. I asked them about the hairtensity extensions and if they had good reviews the girls went on to tell me there were great and that I could dye the extensions with semi/Demi hair color. Cool so I purchased them. Thursday afternoon I went to dye the extensions with a semi hair color called adore I left the color on for about 15-20 mins in a plastic bag to hold the heat. After that time I went to wash out the hair and most of all the color washed right off. I immediately called the store to tell them about my issue and instead of trying to help the girl kept talking to me as if I didn't know how to do hair and that i was wrong about how to use hair color when most boxes come with time limits I informed her I went to school for this and I know how to use color. She then got flustered and then said she wasn't sure how to help and would get the manager. After waiting for a few minutes she came back to say the manager wasn't there. She didn't even give me a customer service number or anything. This is the worst experience I've ever had there. read more

I called this store yesterday to ask for two specific items. The girl who answered said they were in stock so I asked her to please put one of each on hold. After work I went to the store to buy my items. First there was a line, two people ahead of me. No big deal, right. I was NEVER greeted. When the ladies in front of me were finally being helped, apparently they had previous scanned items suspended in the system by another employee; however, the girl at the register had no idea how to retrieve it. So she leisurely walked to the back to ask another employee. 2 minutes she's gone. Then she leisurely walks back to the register, says nothing to any of us, leisurely works on the register, finally finds the order and proceeds to leisurely scan their remaining items. Meanwhile I've now been in line for 10 minutes. Another employee emerges from the back Yay! I'm next. I tell her I have two items on hold. She produces one. The slow-as-molasses girl says, "yeah I checked after you called, we only have one in stock." Huh?! I mean, um excuse me. You checked AFTER I called?! The whole point of me calling was for them to check BEFORE I came in. DUH! I wouldn't have driven to that specific location if they only had one of the items I wanted. UGH. I'm giving them 3 stars because I've been here a few times before and received better service. And because the lady who checked me out for the one item last night was really nice and friendly. But they need to step it up! Who's the manager there? DO YOUR JOB PLEASE. If you call for a stock check, make sure they have EVERYTHING you want before you hang up. I have been going to Sally's Beauty supply for years. I am thrilled that there is a location not far from my new home. In addition to having a wide selection of products, the staff I encountered were friendly and knowledgable about their offerings as well as in store promotions. I tend to primarily buy clippers from Sally's and one of the things they offer is a 2 year extended warranty. This is a very valuable service. They also have a generous return policy which allows you to try something and if it's not right for you, return or exchange it. read more
