This would be a four star review if the hostess wasn't so rude that both my dinner partner and I found ourselves muttering obscenities to ourselves and wondering if we should eat somewhere else. This was an early arrival - about 4:30. We had called ahead and been spoken to as if we were idiots, which should have dissuaded us, but did not. Once we got seated our experience was dramatically improved. I had the Prime rib Special which was slightly over cooked, but a solid B and my dinner partner had the Bakes Stuffed Filet of Soul which was a solid B+. Another great meal at Salmon Run. Started with the sweet and spicy calamari. Crispy and perfectly done; the sauce was dynamite! Meals included teriyaki salmon, shrimp and garlic salmon, baked sea scallops with breadcrumbs and butter and baked shrimp and scallops. All were tasty, tender and delicious. Portions are very generous and the fresh veg side was nice. Even the baked potatoes were fluffy and delicious! We have never been disappointed here- the seafood and fish are really top notch. Unfortunately it was VERY warm in the restaurant and a little uncomfortable. Too bad the service excellence did not match the food- our waitress was not very attentive, never stopped by to ask about drink refills or the quality of our meals. My husband and I had dinner here recently based on the Yelp reviews. It's the first time we've ever wondered if we were in the wrong place -- we had such a negative experience! They seated us in a dingy side room right under the speakers and next to a table of loud diners. The staff were indifferent and the food was very poorly prepared. The place was kind of run down, like it had been a special place 25 years ago, but hadn't kept up with the times. We can't figure out what all the positive reviews are about. Given the dearth of other options in the area, this isn't a bad choice. Portions are ample, everything the table had was at least acceptable. Nothing jumped out as particularly good, but nothing was bad either. My salmon was overcooked somewhat, and a friend's sandwich came out WAY earlier than the other entrees for some reason. The booths are comfortable, and if memory serves the free bread was quite good. Not a whole lot around and given the small village, is a good choice if you're driving through. Back before I developed an allergy to shellfish, this was my favorite place to order from. Where I worked we'd order from here about once a month, and I would always get the Shrimp and Broccoli Fettuccine Alfredo and a bowl of Lobster Bisque. My fiancee, who detests seafood, enjoyed the burger he got when we would eat in. This is a good restaurant with good value for the money. They have one poicy which is very bad, however.. They let patrons call in and reserve seats at the bar! On a recent evening I walked in alone and saw that all the bar seats, about 6 or 7, were taken. Okay, too bad for me. But when I inquired about how long it might be for an empty seat, I was told that all the folks sitting at the bar had come in together and would be there for a long time.. They had been allowed by the management to make a rservation for all te bar seats as if it were a table. Bad policy. Most restaurants, in my experience, keep their bar seats open to accommodate solo diners or couples who show up at the last minute. If you're eating alone, the bar is a great place to be. read more

We usually come here after going to the outlets because it is the area's better option. We ordered swordfish and a steak. I found my swordfish to be pretty good, but nothing special. I tasted my mom's steak, and I winced because of how much salt was on it (which is saying something coming from someone who is used to eating salty foods)!!! You could not even taste the meat. I was very disappointed tonight. I ordered a full bellied clam roll which is priced as market price vs their clam strips clam roll. They brought me the clam strips and when I questioned it they insisted they were full bellied. I have had the full bellied clam roll there before and I know the difference. They charged me for the more expensive item and it wasn't as good. They should have owned up to their mistake. This is usually my favorite restaurant to go to in Lee. We drive 45 minutes to eat at Salmon Run Fish House!! Why?? The seafood is as good as you get in Maine!!! The scallops are scrumptious!! We are very particular about a good scallop. So many places serve a very mediocre scallop that is usually not even a scallop or a poor excuse for one. The waitstaff and hostess is very accommodating. We just really enjoy our time there. Tremendous food!! Even if you aren't into seafood, you will enjoy the steak or chicken...they even have a great bacon-bleu cheeseburger. Went to the salmon run on Sunday and had a horrible experience !!! The bartender over served a man causing him to be drunk and obnoxious. It took a while for the staff to get him to leave the restaurant but eventually he did. However he caused families to leave due to his threats of coming back and shooting everyone. Staff really needs training in de-escalation or maybe just call the police after all there right next door to your restaurant. As for the food we ordered sandwiches which took 45 minutes to deliver to our table. The waitress never asked if we needed more drinks. Horrible food and service. read more

We were excited to finally find a place in the Berkshires that served a craving of mine- fried clams. The town of Lee, at least what we saw of it, was a little depressing, filled with mostly restaurants and thrift-style stores. Salmon Run stands out with their curb appeal, and while the restaurant was clean, it was poorly decorated and looked like a diner in a fisherman's clothing. We loved the menu and for lunch we shared a cup of lobster bisque. It tasted homemade, and had plenty of leg meat. The soup was served hot (very often soup is tepid) and was creamy, but not heavy. ($3.95) We also shared a lobster roll which came with fries (crisp and well fried) and slaw. The slaw was homemade tasting, perhaps a couple days old because it had a bit of a sour overtone. I know when I make it at home, that happens after a few days in the fridge. The bun for the lobster roll was warm, but fell immediately apart. There was probably about 3.5 oz of claw meat from a very small lobster. We wished the chunks of lobster were bigger and meatier. Drawn butter was served alongside the roll. The cost for that dish was $15.95. In addition, we shared a lunch sized fried strip clam plate, which again came with fries and slaw. ($9.95). The clams were tasty, greaseless and tender but not the best or most flavorful we have ever had. The tartar sauce was tangy but could have used a little more zip. Would we go back? Probably. But only when we need a fix. read more

It was a busy Thursday night. It is a nice place, the staff was friendly enough for a very busy night. The wait staff is a little salty, but I like that. Just get my order right, bring the food when ready ... address problems well. I don't need you to blow smoke up my a** at all. The menu is quite varied and allows for a lot of variations on the type of seafood that you'd like (like about 8 types of ways to have salmon). I had the crab cake dinner. The crab cakes were advertised as "lump", but no lumps to be found. I don't think we were close enough to Maryland to get good crab cakes - my fault for asking for them. I think if they would limit their menu a bit and focus on quality ingredients, it could be a really nice place. Overall, despite the crab cakes, we had a good time. read more

Needs a negative star!!! Horrible staff! Walked in at 320pm and was told before we even said hello- "if you have no reservation we can't help you!" We noticed at least 5 empty tables when we stood at the doorway being shushed away!!! I mean how RUDE can you be!? What is this, NYC? Exclusivity to reservations only in the 3 o'clock hour?!?!? Apparently our money is not green enough compared to the New Yorkers who come here to Massachusetts and rudely monopolize this area! I don't usually complain, but this was the SECOND experience at attempting to eat here and were treated like second class citizens! Oh yes the first time a few years ago we arrived and were seated and everyone around us who was seated AFTER us had already received their food before us?! Naturally we were very confused and had to ASK for our waitress to come to our table and she was forced to tell us that she FORGOT to put our order in-- so you just let your guests wait because YOU forgot?? So, we got up and walked out!!! Apparently this second chance that they had, just proves the disgraceful attitude of this establishment!! Stayed up in Lee at an Inn on my 50th with my wife, escaping the children. Walking through town spotted this place, went in around 5:30p with no reservation and they found us a booth. The service was excellent and the food was no less. I had the baked seafood platter with salmon, scrod, scallops and shrimp and almost ate myself into a coma, I simply could not stop.
