Weeknights are usually busy but last call for kitchen is 740 pm. The restaurant closes at 8 pm but Wednesday night they took diners even at 730 , as long as the orders were before cutoff time. Charged the panic miki bihon- egg noodles mixed with thin rice noodles, good amount of vegetables plus shrimp and half a boiled egg. It was served still hot and was satisfying. We got a seafood platter with grilled pork and chicken skewers (4each), grilled giant squid and mussels, plus a whole Bangus or milkfish stuffed with tomato and onion, wrapped in banana leaf and grilled. Spacious, able to accommodate larger groups. The entrance has bamboo furniture that everyone who grew up in Philippines would recognize. A mural depicting a small village has many iconic elements: sari sari store that carries pretty much everything you need,(before the age of convenience stores) and a pair dancing Tinikling. Very courteous waiter and waitress , both were attentive to all the patrons. We shared a halo halo - loved the crunchy pounded rice or pinipig, shaved ice, sweetened milk and various beans plus Leche flan. Such a great experience at Salo Salo Filipino Grill in Artesia! We ordered the barbecue plate and the halo-halo, and WOW -- everything was super delicious. The barbecue was so flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the halo-halo was refreshing, sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. The customer service was warm, friendly, and very welcoming, which made the whole visit feel even nicer. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and very family-friendly especially since we went for a gathering! Parking was easy since there's a big lot available (huge plus for this area!). Prices are very reasonable for the generous portions -- definitely great value. They're open daily starting around 11 AM into the evening, and they also accept reservations, which is really convenient. Great first visit! Salo-Salo is a Filipino eatery just down the street from Los Cerritos in a small strip mall. The parking lot is tiny and shared with other businesses. The disability spaces were taken so we put up our blue placard in a regular spot and the person next to us graciously left us plenty of room. There were two servers working on Wednesday. They were so welcoming, sweet, and attentive. They opened the door for us as I was wheeling my mom in and did the same when we exited. My mom got an eggplant dish that comes with either coffee or tea. She said Salo Salo's eggplant dish was way better than the competing last place she had it at. Filipino breakfast is a treat for me once in a while. I either choose pork tocino or pork longanisa w/a well-done scrambled egg. Wow! Loved the flavor of this dish! There was nothing I needed to add to it. I asked if brown rice was possible for the garlic rice but it was not. Also chose a raspberry iced tea that came with my plate. I saved half of my dish in a to go box so that my hubby could have it later. When I opened my portable cooler when I got home later, there was a nice aroma of the tocino! Although the restroom was fairly clean, I had to flag an employee for more paper towels. There 2 soap dispensers and the bottled one wasn't working. The restaurant office has a bunch of Dodger bobbleheads in the office window and my mom took a photo by them. She likes this restaurant a lot. Overall, our food was so delicious! I imagine on the weekends that their customers have to hunt for street parking since their lot is tiny. Will very likely return during the week sooner than later. Salo-Salo Grill is one of our go-to places for Filipino food in the area. We usually order their pancit miki bihon, which everyone in our family enjoys. This last visit, we ordered their grilled meats platter, which had different types of meat (some more tender than others though). We also had their crispy pata, which was just okay. salo salo grill has been my family's go-to spot for as long as i can remember, and it still hits every single time. we came here recently and ordered the crispy meat platter, bulalo, and kare kare and seriously, everything was a 10/10. the crispy meat platter was exactly what we hoped for: super crispy, flavorful, and packed with meat. perfect for sharing and no weak pieces in sight. the bulalo was so comforting, broth was rich and flavorful. you could taste that hint of fish sauce and lemon that gave it that extra depth. then the kare kare... wow. the peanut sauce was so tasty we didn't even touch the bagoong (which says a lot). the service was also on point. our servers checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. food came out surprisingly fast even though the place was pretty packed, with lots of big parties dining around us. the space is large and it's perfect for big family meals. we didn't even have to wait for a table. this place brings back so many memories for me, and it still holds up. salo salo will always have a special place in my heart and stomach. always recommend! read more

Salo Salo has a variety of good soups, meats, and specialties like a Longonisa breakfast. :) Arrived here after 1pm, this place was pretty much a ghost town on a Saturday.
