I knew when she asked, she wasn't in the mood to do the whole thing. Needless to say. I walked out with a basic Mullet, which is nothing like I asked for nor close to the pictures I showed her. But, I wasn't going to stay any longer than she was willing to do. I wasn't greeted quickly when I arrived . I wasn't thrilled with the appearance of the salon... the stylist ( I say that loosely) station wasn't exactly appealing as the cabinet was grey and looked like some one had ; had their feet resting on it.

The blonde highlights are done well, and my hair is very soft and a great texture. I would go to Amanda again, just tweak the color a bit more to brighten it up.

I mentioned it through Instagram, reminded the front desk when my appointment was scheduled and rescheduled, and even confirmed it again when they asked me to move my appointment time. Each time I was assured there would be enough time. When I arrived early for my 4:30 appointment, Jess was still finishing another client. Instead of greeting me or having a consultation, an assistant came to take me for a shampoo. Since I planned to donate my hair and had decided on a significant cut, I asked if we could do a consultation first and cut the ponytail before washing. The assistant left to get Jess. Jess then approached me in the front of the salon while still working on another client and, in front of employees and other guests, immediately questioned what I wanted to do with my hair. The conversation felt rushed and uncomfortable, especially since we hadn't discussed the haircut yet. For such a significant change, I expected a private consultation with my stylist before anything else. By the time I finally sat in her chair, I explained that I felt embarrassed by how the interaction had been handled. Rather than acknowledging my concerns, I was told the goal had simply been to save time because my appointment would likely run past closing. From my perspective, I had done everything I could to communicate that I needed extra time well in advance, so it was disappointing to feel like my appointment had become an inconvenience. At that point I no longer felt comfortable trusting someone who seemed rushed and frustrated to make a major change to my hair, so I chose to leave without receiving any services. The most disappointing part wasn't that I left without a haircut--it was the lack of professionalism throughout the experience. A consultation for a major haircut should never feel rushed or happen publicly while a stylist is still working on another client. I walked in excited for an appointment I had waited weeks for and left feeling embarrassed instead. To make matters worse, no one from the salon reached out afterward to ask what happened or try to resolve the situation. Instead, I found that Jess had blocked me on her professional Instagram account. I genuinely believe Jess is a talented stylist, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Given the unresolved damage and lack of accountability, I am pursuing this matter further through small claims court. I made this appointment over a month in advance. If the stylist was overbooked or planning to work on multiple clients during a chemical service, I should have been informed ahead of time. I would have gladly rescheduled. During my appointment, my stylist, Casey, was working on another client at the same time--a client she appeared to know well--and was engaged in ongoing personal conversation while my hair was processing with bleach. My hair had already been processing for approximately one hour when Casey briefly came over to assess it and told me I needed more time. I expressed concern that my hair was already over-processing, but she dismissed my concern and said I was "fine." Shortly after, I went to the bathroom and saw that my hair had turned completely white, which immediately alarmed me. I returned to my chair, showed Casey, and told her I believed my hair was damaged. She continued to insist it was not. The owner was present, and I showed her my hair as well. The owner washed my hair out. Later, while I was finger-combing, hair came out in my fingers, which I showed her. During the discussion, I asked the owner to call the police. When the police arrived, the owner told them she did not know why I had been called and confirmed that I had not refused to pay, which was true. The police did not intervene. I was charged $233, which I paid in full, and I left the salon. Immediately afterward, I went to another professional salon, where I was told my hair is definitely damaged with noticeable breakage, consistent with over-processing. This experience was stressful, dismissive, and costly. I would strongly caution others--especially when receiving chemical services--to be very careful and to trust their instincts if something feels wrong.
