Have visited Asha a few times for a facial and had to recommend her. I originally came across her when a friend recommended trying her out. Being new to the area, I had been looking for a regular facial destination. Asha is very patient and takes her time with her facial. At her prices for a 2 hour facial - she is very reasonable and good value for money. I always leave feeling very refreshed and my skin has a new lease on life after these facials. She is on the top floor of Salon IXIa which can be a bit confusing. The reviews were not wrong. Asha herself is very friendly, she made suggestions, and listened to my requests. She made me feel comfortable and was conversational. Her studio is small and cozy- perfect for the moment of relaxation that you're going for. I have thin eyebrows so I am very careful with who I go to. I've been to a few places before but I have never had an eyebrow service as great as I did with Asha!! The services I received were eyebrow threading and eyebrow tint. I was expecting a thread and done but she did beyond that! I love that Asha is very precise with her work and she definitely seems passionate about it. She not only thread but also, cut the long hairs I had sticking out, plucked around, and even gave me a little massage at the end! She takes her time to assure that all hair is removed, she also advises you on the aftercare. Asha is a prime example of how beauty can be painful but your experience doesn't have to be unpleasant. I recently moved to the Solano/North Berkeley area and was looking for a regular practitioner to visit locally. I found Asha through Google/Yelp and, based on all the glowing reviews - booked same day. I'm happy to say my experience exceeded my expectations and compelled me to leave a review as well. Asha's salon is upstairs inside the Ixia Hair Salon (I had to call her to figure that out, lol) and is a quaint, simple space. Now, I have been going to get waxed at numerous salons for years, and sometimes they get you in and out in less than 5 minutes without caring to prep, tweeze, or double-check their work. Asha was the complete opposite and provided me with the most thorough and detailed service I've ever received. She was kind, conversational, and communicative about what I wanted and what she was doing. She did my eyebrows, lip, and neck in ~30 minutes and charged me $35. Second time here...and I am so upset. During my first visit Asha did exactly what I asked for... she left my eyebrows thick and long and only cleaned up around. They were perfect. Today she completely ignored my request to keep them thick and long and made them thin and took way too much hair all over. My eyebrow arch on one side is also higher. ‍ Our conversation: Me: Oh no I don't like them they're too thin Asha: Other people don't like them thick last time they were not nice. You liked them but others didn't, I like them better this time. Me: I'm not paying for what other people like I'm paying you for what I want.
