Uma is incredible! I've been going to her for over a year now, and I've stopped going to any other threading salon (I live in SF but make the trek out to El Cerrito every week b/c it's worth it!) I have a low pain tolerance & sometimes will leave threading sessions at other salons with some hair still left b/c of the pain but Uma is so gentle & patient, I've now gone from just doing upper lip & eyebrows to doing my full face with her every week. I've seen my hair growth reduce over time, & now have much less hair in between threading sessions than before. Last note is that Uma also is so sweet :) she treats everyone like family, and goes out of her way to make sure you're comfortable. I haven't gotten my brows threaded probably since the last time I came here about 2 years ago. I just moved back to the area and found the establishment under a new ownership and it's no longer Renu who does the eyebrows but Uma who is also amazing! She was so fast, friendly, and precise. She truly cares about your shape and helps you relax. I loved how when she did my upper lip she also took care of some of the hairs in my upper nose area which I didn't even know was possible, as I used to wax that part. I highly recommend this service and place. She truly deserves to be fully booked. It was only 25$ for both and with tip I paid about 28$. She accepts card or Apple Pay which was great as well. I just left my appointment crying. I get married in 4 days and my eyebrows look completely different than what I wanted and would have expected from a professional. I've been here one time before and my eyebrows looked nice afterward, which is why i went back again. However, this visit went horribly wrong. For starters, the woman was 10 minutes late to our appointment. When she finally got there she walked in and got on the phone. I finally knocked on the door and she asked me if I had an appointment? Mind you, this appointment has been booked for over a week now. But the worst part is, one eyebrow is much thinner and smaller than the other. When I pointed this out, the woman told me that my eyebrows grow differently and that it's "just my eyebrows." I showed her a picture of what my eyebrows looked like before I came in and she blew it off. She just kept saying that it's my eyebrows and that if I wanted, she could make the other one smaller?! Like, im sad because one of my eyebrows is pencil thin, why would I want the other like that?! I like my eyebrows being full! Im not sure why I still paid, and I felt like I still had to tip because she's hovering over me while I make my payment... needless to say, I won't ever be coming back. Really happy with my service here. I came in as a walk-in and was seated right away. The place itself is small, tucked into the interior of Sola Salons. I missed it the first time and I had to walk around the building to find the entrance, but found my way. I ended up getting an entire face threading. It went by super fast and nearly painless as the woman helping me was nice and made light conversation. The entire place is very clean and tidy for how small of a space it is. She did a great job and definitely am thinking about coming back! Also there's plenty of parking in case that's an issue for some.
