I needed a last minute blow out for a wedding I was going to. I had limited time and my usual hair salon was too far. I called to see if they could take me for a super last minute appointment and they did. The salon is on a block of stores and has street parking. If you can find a spot, they have a small lot behind the stores. I got there early and they took me in right away. Marian (the store owner?) started washing my hair and then Jason took over. My hair is to the middle of my back, so washing and drying it took some time. Jason did a great job. He asked how I wanted it blown out and listened to what I wanted. This is a pending review for days. I came across this place on Groupon and purchased their one color gel mani and regular pedicure package. Glad I purchased that package because I definitely feel satisfied with the service. I am always trying out new nail salons and this one was totally worth the try. Parking is pretty accessible on the street and the salon is located right on union turnpike main road right by sweets cats cafe. Per my opinion this is not a big salon but decent size. There's a very small section for nails and I believe only one lady doing the nails on the weekend. I went here on Saturday last week and I made an appointment prior to going since I had a Groupon. Most places I have witnessed definitely treat you different when you have Groupon like as if you are getting half ass service. Which surely doesn't make any sense to me because Groupon deals are a way of attracting customers to try your products and services. But this place definitely served me well even though I had the Groupon. I cannot recall the name of the wonderful lady who did my nails but she was good and polite. I asked her to do one of my nails with glitter gel and she was like sure not a problem at all. I asked her if there's an additional charge and she said don't worry about it. In the past I have tried nail salons that demanded to charge me $3 extra if I wanted one of my dam fingers in glitter paint instead of the regular color. If you go here with the Groupon for nails they charge extra $2 on top of the Groupon price. I have seen majority of the salons do that and they say it's tax. Well idk maybe it is. I've been to Violet's before for trims, but in my recent visit to get rid of greys, I had the pleasure of having Armani manage my hair. It's amazing what a difference a stylist makes. Most ask what you want for your hair, but I wanted to know what my hair needed to be more healthy and alive. Armani was the one to do that. I assumed that my hair was heavily damaged, but Armani assessed that was not the case. It was just super dry, which can be fixed with deep conditioning. I came for a blow-out to get my normally slightly wavy hair ready for a fancy event that night. I called earlier in the week to make an appointment, and was also advise the cost would be $25 (reasonable). On the day of I was running late, so I called to let them know I would be about 15 minutes late. The woman who answered the phone didn't check my appointment nor seemed to understand what I was saying. When I said I would be there in about 20 minutes, she asked if I wanted an appointment for 3pm (my original appointment was 2pm, and I called at 1:50pm to let them know I was running late). When I arrived, a client was finishing up his young's son haircut, and there was no one else. The barber working on that boy left for a break, and the woman who was there did my hair. I asked about skipping the wash, but both persons insisted I still wash, so I did. The wash was so-so. Water pressure was pretty poor, and a few times the woman splashed water onto my neck. I also thought it odd that I did not wear anything more than a small towel to protect my clothes. After washing, I proceeded to the chair where I still had a very damp towel on my neck. The hair was casually blown dry, then blown with the heavier duty heat, followed by curling iron (I explained I had a fancy affair). The whole process took about one hour, and it was clear the skill level was mediocre at best. I also got burned a bit by the hairdryer once, and remained on high alert thereafter. The hair looked nice when I left, but the curls barely stayed an hour in despite plenty of spray. It still looked like nice beachy waves later, but that wasn't really what I was going for. I would not come back if it could be helped, but the place is just a few blocks from where I live and the ultimate job was ok. I would insist on full curls if I want just waves. read more

I wish I could give NO STARS. I started a Yelp account to review this specific place! THEY WERE RUDE He was spiteful with me for questioning him! He left me with 2 inches of roots to prove his point. He tossed the extra products I brought! He left thick amounts of bleach where he did bleach and didn't attempt to blend it up AT ALL!! The extra woman in the salon told my sister to tell me to stop asking questions! Then she grabbed her by the hair and told her she needed a cut. If I was told this when it happened, we would have left right then! After telling me my hair was so thin when I walked in, he then told me I didn't have nearly enough and would need to pay an extra $60 to use his products. I was assisted by a woman at a pro wholesale shop in buying the products. He said he would leave me roots so if I didn't want to use any of his stuff. He then made his point by using as much as possible to cover as little a possible and leave me 2 inches in the front. As I had never done this before, I was sure there was a second round of things to do so I waited. The products said to leave in for a max of 40 minutes, but after an hour he told me to sit still I had another 30 minutes to go ... He was busy with someone else and didn't want to put the paying customer on pause. When finally having the other girl wash my hair, she soaked me, mocked my sister. Update: (I'd give zero stars or negative stars if possible) I had to come back to get my nails fixed, yet had not heard from the shop. I messaged them via Yelp and the appointment was made. On January 5, 2018, I was running late to the shop due to issues with the snow ("Bomb Cyclone") and the buses moving slowly. I called the shop to apologize that I was late and that I would be there in no more than ten minutes-my location was approximately 2 minutes away driving. Meriem the receptionist was very curt with me. I was shocked that she was so rude to me when I let her know my delay was due to the weather versus me just being a flaky customer. Meriem told me the manicurist was leaving and I gave her the option of my coming another day so the woman could get home. I told Meriem it was not a problem. Then Meriem told me if I didn't come at that time the nails couldn't be fixed because it would be over a week since I received services. I was really taken aback by her hostility. I understand that they're running a business and it is important for customers to run on time. However, concessions are typically made when the roads and weather is as bad as it was on that day. The bus came and I was at the shop in 4 minutes. When I arrived Meriem tried to be all friendly as if she had not just been really rude to me a few minutes ago on the phone. Michelle re-did my nails and toenails, she was very attentive towards me this go around. The place where I sat for my nails to dry had freezing cold air drying my toes, but I endured it for as long as I could- over 30 minutes. Nails: Below average- I have never had gel chip as fast as it does from this salon! Toes: Below average- Toes are the one place I can count on polish to last and not smear easily. Had a groupon to take my family out for Mother's Day manipedis, My aunt wanted an eyebrow wax or threading (separate from groupon). When I called to make the appointment, I was told they could only do waxing that day, which worked out fine. When we got there it turns out there was only one person there to do the manipedis and eyebrow wax on a group of four, on a Saturday. I think the lady may have rushed through ours a little but she did a pretty good job on our nails, did her best to Make us feel comfortable, she was engaging, funny; she wasn't able to do a design on the gel manicure even if I said I'd pay extra, but was cool about leaving the nails I wanted a design on alone when I asked her to, I feel like other places wouldn't be as accommodating about it. If you're thinking of going to her, she has short light Brown hair and wears glasses, I think her name was Eva? The place is pretty clean, I feel like there's more to say but nothing definitive because it's only been my first time there; however it seems that they mostly do hair if they have only one person for manipedis yet there were about 2/3 mani pedi stations? The last comment I have to make is about the young lady at the front desk. I forgot what her name is but she has long hair with some highlights. She's nice and told me that they have a deal on their services which was $7 ($7 total, I had a regular mani pedi +gel mani regular pedi) cheaper than what groupon was offering if we paid cash, which the lady on the phone did not tell me. Under new management. This place used to be owned by Asians, Peggy used to cut my hair. They are now owned by Indians. The "manager" is a 22+/- Indian girl.... she is rude, unprofessional and is certainly not a manager. I actually saw her comment to a customer that the tip wasn't enough!!! The new management has no respect for appointments and client time. Its more of a conveyor belt. I reluctantly decided to let the new management dye and blow dry my hair, and had to remind my stylist that the dye needed to come out! After my stylist was done, I looked in the mirror, my skin had hair dye... like allot, and when I told my stylist.... she seemed annoyed that she had to help remove it off my skin. This morning an employee (receptionist?) texted me to see if I could move up my appointment to 12:30p. I told her "no" because I was still working (as most people are at that time). I doubt they would have seen me at 230p because there were 2 customers doing hair straightening and another one getting a manicure.
