My wife has use this salon three time and and every…read moretime it's been an ordeal. -The first time I went with her and they stuck her with some body that wouldn't even talked to her not sure what was the problem it was the most uncomfortable and awkward situation. ($150 cut/wash) -The second time my wife was giving then a second chance so she went back and this time some how she managed to get the owner i believe to work on her her. She proceeded to tell her what she wanted (to color her hair platinum) they talked about the process and she was told that it would be two appointment for the process. Again another shitshow but some how managed to get through it. The hair was not cut correctly the job was not perfect but she had to go back anyways ($180 cut/color/style) -The third and final time WILL NOT BE EVER RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING ANYONE TO IT. So my wife had made a follow up appointment with the owner to finish her coloring and hair style appointment. 1st error owner doesn't provide a hair book, 2nd error owner doesn't remember what she had done previously, 3rd error owner spent over two hours putting foil on hair 4th error owner starts panicking because the color or what ever she is doing is not working 5th error owner is on phone asking what to do and phone goes on speaker by accident and automatic hangs up then proceed to ask my wife "who dye her hair last, what color did they used" my wife proceeded to tell her that it was her(owner) 6th error owner proceeded to tell my wife "oh your hair is is turning sea green color , let me fix it, oh sorry now it's a blueish gray oh and by the way (I'M GOING TO CHARGE YOU FOR ALL THE COLOR AND FOIL AND CRAP THAT I USED TO FIX/TRY TO FIX MY ERROR) the prices is ($300 for a horrible horrible hair coloring job and not even a hair cut just color) -So by this time after hearing the total price my wife is in shock trying to hold her anger and tears and doesn't know what to say so she pays and leave because she didn't want her hair to fall. -So now I'm in the process of getting the money that she had to over pay for someone else mistake. The drive is not the best from Boston, but the parking is so convenient and you're still seeing Nicole, the best in the business. If you're coming from the city, avoid rush hour and take advantage of the Saturday hours. The website has a convenient online scheduling system and you can email the salon to get on the waitlist. My other reviews about Nicole's talent and awesome personality hold up- she's so good at curly haircuts. Price is well worth the service! The new location is in a kind of a market of stylists and the niche room for Mop recreates the South End vibe quite well. Nicole has her drinks fridge, magazines and photo books, super fancy dryer, and excellent products, so nothing has changed. There is a kind of overall waiting area at the salon building with 2 chairs, but Nicole is punctual, so you won't be waiting there long. There are also general use bathrooms for the salon building that are nothing to write home about and not something Nicole can really influence anyway. I'm sensitive to smell/aerosol products and because it is a building of salon rooms, it is INTENSE in the hall/general waiting area. I wore a mask, which helped a lot, so if you have asthma or bad allergies I recommend bringing one along just in case. Of course, Nicole has some on hand because she remains awesome about COVID precautions and generally creating a safe and welcoming space. You're not going to wait in the hall long, but good to know just in case.

All of a sudden I'm getting layered haircuts and uneven results...went back to tell the owner..she didn't agree and did nothing to at least offer to straighten it out. I went in this Wednesday' May 15th for a complete hilighting treatment. I noticed, first error, normally color would be left in 35 min...this time it was washed out 20min. I watched the high lighting process and saw quickly the lighter thin high lights normally done around my face and started at roots at top were not done all the way down to bottom of my hairline, very quickly and entire areas were not high lighted with the thin lighter color that has always been done...I mentioned it to owner and was told there were enough high lights and an under color was added too. When I got home, I noticed my hair color was much darker and I saw very little high lights!! I went back to see owner last night and because there were other customers there, I kept my voice low when telling her I wasnt happy with the results ...as she combed it right in front of me...the blond lighter hilights looke like a hat on top of my head! She stated it was because of the layers! I never ever asked to have my hair layered. I always had my fronts longer than the back! I now have the oppossite! Her answer to me was she did the same thing she has always dne! Just not true! Her solution was to blow dry it!! Never do you want me to trim the back?? Nothing!! She offered no solution and just kept smiling at me! I have never ever complained before loved her work. Even my friends and people at work said my hair looks darker and not up to the usual results. I feel sad, but very disappointed in her unprofessional response and lack of offering to fix it! I spent over 200 of my hard earned money and my hair looks awful......will not return to that salon.
