February 2020 Loved the haircut Gina gave me back in August so I just had to make another trip to see her for another cut and this time also a highlight! I was not disappointed! Gina did a fabulous job and so worth the drive from Palm Springs. She is such a talented stylist. Great experience. The owner is the sweetest lady--she currently has to run the salon on her own after COVID, but she's kept it going with much dedication. Candy is pretty fast and efficient, but she's definitely pretty rude/overly blunt (might just be a cultural difference, reminds me of my asian mom sometimes tbh). While she was cutting my hair, she made comments about my hair quality like how frizzy it was and why I shouldn't dye it. It's not like I don't know my hair is frizzy...that's why I'm here? lol. I guess this is pretty normal since I've been to a lot of "asian salons" with hairdressers who keep it real but just warning you if you want a cheap haircut you might get a side of rudeness and roughness with hair washing/brushing. The overall haircut was $40 pre-tip, so relatively cheap, but I'd rather pay a bit more for a nicer salon and someone who's less rough around the edges. I'd like to enjoy my scalp massage and hair wash rather than cringing in slight pain and discomfort. read more

Biggest disappointment in my life. Candy was my hairdresser for more than 10 years, I never wanted to say goodbye to her....but during the pandemic, she started to be very rude, she told me: " I don't have patience for your long hair anymore." She even brushed my hair so hard, it was painful. She started to tell me that I am getting old and that is why she should cut my hair......I have no idea why did she turn so rude but if you have long hair, try to avoid her. read more

She is from Thailand - of which I know little of the language, but hello is 'Sa-wa-dee-krap' and thank you is 'Kab-khun-krap' when you are male speaking, for females replace the 'krap' with 'kah'. If you are ever visiting Las Vegas and need a place that cuts great Asian hair, then Salon City is the place to go. I went to the barbershop across from Salon City and got the worse customer service which led me to come here and meet Candy! Candy has been cutting hair for over 30 years and she definitely knows what she is doing. If you are staying in the strip, cuts start from 50 and up and this place is only 20 dollars which includes a hair wash!!! Needed a haircut so I searched on yelp and came across this place. Since I read the reviews, I went in hoping I would get Candy and sure enough I did. It was around 1 pm and there was only one customer there already being attended to so Candy was free. I told her what length I would like but that she was free to style it any way she wanted, I trusted her judgement. 20 minutes later and I had a nice shoulder length layered cut.
