I purchased their voucher on amazon and decided to give this place a try after seeing Christine's pictures on yelp. Her ombré sold me. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to make an appointment with her. I was only given two option as my stylist. Both ladies I didn't see much reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect. The day of my appointment, I got a phone call 5 minutes before my arrival from the stylist asking if she could push my appointment 1 hr and 15 minutes later because her previous client didn't show up on time. Even though she said if I was on my way already to the salon it would be okay but I personally thought it was unprofessional of her to push my appointment back in the very last minute because her client had an emergency. When I arrived, i asked for a full color and a trim. I've been to my fair share of salons and I know the routine. Don't wash your hair a day before you dye it. Am I right, ladies? However, for the first time ever she washed my hair, dyed, then cut. I was quite shock because I've never experience that before. But what do I know, I'm not a hair stylist. To my surprise, my hair color came out nice. However, I'm very unhappy with my trim. She appeared all over the place but I wanted to wait to the end to see the final results before I panic. My hair ended being choppy especially my bangs. There were sections on my bangs that were long, short, extremely long, then short. As a result, I had to fix it myself later the day. Okay, so I have not gotten my hair done in years, like a hair up do. I was Bel from beauty and the Beast this year and decided to go all out for my Halloween costume. So i decided to get my hair done like Bel's hair. I made an appointment with Christine (i guess she was the only one available), she told me to bring a picture of what i wanted my hair to look like. So, day of my appointment, the salon was EMPTY, there was only one customer other than me. I showed Christine pictures of how i wanted my hair (Bel's hair when she had the gold dress). She asked me which Bel was I, and asked if I had the blue dress costume and i made it clear to her "No, I'm wearing the gold dress". So she started teasing my hair and all that stuff, and realized she freaking did my hair like Bel when she wore the blue dress! At first i was okay with it, but when I got home, i realized the hair just didn't go with my dress. I was so pissed off and re did my whole entire hair. i ended up doing my hair and it looked like Bel's hair. I freaking wasted $70 for some hair do that I should have just done myself. I didn't understand why she told me to bring a picture of what I wanted when she freaking did the EXACT OPPOSITE! He spends about 50 or so minutes making sure the cut is nice and it's shapely around your head, he'll even style it to make sure it'll grow nicely if you have a future engagement coming and that you need to look your best. I'm very unhappy with Loret's skill and personality at this salon. I had purchased an Amazon Voucher from their salon weeks before and came by recently to redeem it. Speaking to Loret on the phone was weird at first as she has a very "My way or the highway" type of a demeanor and tone/personality. I am a tolerant person so I was able to handle her on the phone thinking...this will be better. "Maybe she does hair better than her personality," I thought. I was indeed, WRONG. Anyway, she didn't really give me any choice for what date to come in. She just said- "OK COME in this day, I have nothing else available unless you want to wait another week." I needed my hair done desperately as it has been quite a while, and they had a special at their salon through Amazon so I went ahead and took a leap of faith. -------- Flash forward, I'm at the salon. I met Loret. And she was nice when we met which was a good start but that was the end of all the good in anything at the salon (hence, one star). She asked me what color I wanted, I said I wanted to get my roots touched up. I didn't know that she was going to cover up my highlights too; but low and behold she did and I ended up looking HORRIBLE and like a freak; the color was TOO dark for my face. It honestly wasn't what I wanted and I had voiced it to her to no avail. She kept telling me, "you look so pretty. You look so nice". It was like she wasnt hearing ME (the customer and the person who's going to sport this 'do). Bottom line is, SHE ONLY LIKES YOU IF YOU AGREE OR ACQUEISE TO WHAT SHE WANTS!!!!!! She's not really the "customer first " type of a hair dresser. I have gone to quite a few salons in my day and met up with different hairdressers and Loret DOES NOT LISTEN!!!!!! She just does whatever she wants without an idea how you feel. I made a mistake and trusted her. I walked out of there feeling bad about my 'do and all she said was "DONT WORRY GIVE IT A TRY. " without thinking about my feelings. I couldn't bare hear what she was saying. I immediately went to my old salon for them to save me and fix the issue. Thank God for my other salon - they fixed it!!!! I was more than happy to pay my other salon but was kind of sad that I had to pay for TWO hairdressers this time around just because Loret wasn't willing to listen to me. Bummer but lesson learned. No more Amazon Vouchers for me. Another down fall - She upcharged me another $20 because my "hair was long and below my shoulders". I'm the worst. I'm the type of person to go six months to a year without a haircut. Mostly because I don't care enough to do it, but also because I haven't found a regular shop and stylist yet since moving to the SGV with this 2-ft. long wavy mop of mine. I know it had been too long this time when my giant hair keeps getting stuck everywhere, so when I found what looked to be a good salon on Amazon Deals, I yelped it (of course) and saw good reviews. There weren't that many reviews for Loret or Lolita (the aestheticians offering the deal), so it was taking a chance. I easily made an appointment with Loret on a Saturday early afternoon, which is great because of convenience. Loret was awesome. I let her know what I wanted - low maintenance - and she ran with it. She colored my hair to even it out after having highlights a few years ago, and the dark brown shade closest to my natural hair color was beautiful! She then washed and cut my hair, then did a blow-out. I love it! It's exactly what I wanted. I always make sure to tip well, especially with a discounted service. I would definitely go back to Loret. The salon itself is nice because it's large, modern, and clean. They offer a lot more services than just hairstyling, too. read more

I called the salon inquiring about bleaching my hair to platinum and correcting the weird block of yellow-orange between the blonde dye I already had and my roots. I got an appointment the next day which was great. Lolitta was the lady I spoke to and ultimately worked her magic on my hair. Thanks to her expertise and Olaplex, she was able to get my hair to platinum without wrecking more damage upon my already damaged hair! I was very pleased with the final colour. There is one small spot near the top of my head that she missed but it's not too noticeable. She was super nice to my husband and I, and I thought the salon looked very clean and organized. The other staff seemed really amiable as well. I took off one star because the prices were a little on the high side. I have been to a mix of salons from cheap to high-priced so I have my own idea of what's reasonable. Not counting the Olaplex, the cost of the other services were higher than what I normally see. I am not from the area and I didn't take the time to research all the salons in the area, plus I was told the price before any work was done so I won't complain too much though I don't plan on spending that much again. This was my first time having Olaplex used on my hair and I was extremely pleased with its effects so I'm focusing on that rather than what I paid. Overall my experience with Salon de Jeunesse was positive: staff was friendly and experienced, my hair's integrity was maintained, and I got the colour I was aiming for. I have been going to Salon De Jeunesse for my haircut and nails for two years and I am really happy with quality of service. I came to this area two years ago and my girlfriend recommended to go to Lolita's place. I have to say my hair is thin, scarce and curly. So, you can imagine how difficult it is for me to get a good haircut. Lolita did a new short haircut for me and I loved it. She is a very friendly and really nice person. I always feel comfortable here and completely trust her with my hair. One of my weaknesses is beautiful nails as well. Kathy has been my manicurist for two years. I was glad to find her after 3-4 months useless searching for MY manicurist. She is experienced and is capable of doing anything I ask for. I'm really picky how my nails look. Thanks to Kathy I have beautiful nails. The quality is great and price is reasonable. I got my manicure 3 weeks ago and my nails still look new. One more thing. Kathy enjoys what she does. Now that I've read other comments on this salon, I see why I also had such a bad experience here. I used an amazon voucher for a cut, color/cond treatment/style. Since I had just recovered from a horrible flu, I knew I would be tired so I just booked the hair color. I walk in, and say "hi I have an appt with Loret". So this woman Loret says hi and that It's her, but she just stands there fiddling with her supply stuff and leaves me standing there staring at me like I've got two heads. Weird, I'm thinking, so I chuckle and say Um...do I look familiar or something? And she keeps staring at me, weird. She didn't greet me, shake my hand, like hi nice to meet you, you know...like everyone does? She says, yes you've been here before right? I say no....still standing there in the middle of the salon. Finally she says "okay you can sit there". She says AGAIN that I've been there before and is STILL staring at me. Then she starts rambling on about how this deep cond treatment is for "new customers only" (does not say that in the voucher) and how much it costs.....Okay.......I did say I came in for just a color right? I've already waived the rest of the treatments right?? Now it's so bizarre, so trying to break the ice I say I've had a rough night and I'm a little tired. (I don't tell her because she is NOT nice AT ALL!!, but I suffer from insomnia.) So rude, she just says "it's going to be extra because your hair is too long." I had spoken with them on the phone previously and said my hair was long, but they didn't tell me about an extra charge. I said well, I'm waiving the cut/cond treatment so can you work with me? I have cut her work in half, waiving the other stuff in the voucher but she says "No." Then she starts telling ME off!!! that I'm saving all this money with this voucher. (I'm now paying what you would pay anywhere for just a color!!) And she's talking LOUD so everyone can hear trying to make me feel bad because I have a voucher? But as frustrated as I am at this point, I'm tired, it took a lot to get there. And I really need my roots colored.......I'm sure you've been there. So I AGREE to pay extra, but say they should let people know beforehand about extra charges (I see now from reviews they have done this to other people). I take a moment to chill, come back and ask where to go, and she has a totally crappy attitude and says that I am making HER feel uncomfortable! That was it. I just walked out. I later returned with my husband because I needed back up and I'm glad I did. Loret and another woman started yelling at me when I came back to complain. Loret kept yelling that "I was in the system!" just because she had my phone #. Like I was there before, which I wasn't. Like I was trying to be "sneaky" or something....I waived the cond treatment !! WTH??? She was acting crazy, saying that over and over, and both kept yelling that I had a bad attitude. Really??!!! And if you are going to try and make your own customers feel bad about using vouchers, why do they offer them???? I told them this. OMG it was just a nightmare, I told them I was going to write a bad review on Yelp, and Loret said "go ahead yelp all you want". I mean she really just didn't give a sh....about how she treats people. So Loret leaves, and the other woman, Lolita as it turns out is the owner who was initially yelling at me, finally starts TALKING to us and actually listens to what happened to me. So she said she would color my hair, but really? Like I'm going to stay there after that?? The whole salon just heard everything. I told her that I would NEVER be back. And I swear I am not just saying this, you can go look for yourself. Loret's hair was sooo fried and over processed it looked terrible. And if she doesn't care about how her own hair looks....... So if you are looking for a new salon, or use a voucher, Oh, also they "don't like to do voucher people on the weekends" if you want to get treated like sh.....lied to about prices and have a psycho scream at you for no reason, go to Salon de Jeunesse!! Took my daughter to the salon, saw Anne- they were able to fit her in "literally last min", which is great and rare. But the girl that did her hair spent 3 hours just for a cut and deep conditioner. My daughter is ethnic, I think the problem was that she just didn't know how to fix ethnic hair- I needed to redo it when we got back home... She said she wouldn't charge me extra than what she intially quoted me- why would she charge me extra? She didn't do anything extra... she didn't expect it too take so long I guess. Also, she gave me several different prices for "just a cut"- at the beginning she said $50 and then later I asked again (for a brief moment I forgot) and she said $55. Come the day of prom and my hair appointment I was still clueless because no one bothered to tell their clients that they closed. Thank god for Rudy who called me and had me come to another salon he had moved to. From there I followed him to Salon De Jeunesse. This salon is spacious, clean, and very new looking (well it IS pretty new, but you know what I mean). Rudy's cut, colored, and styled my hair for about 4 years and I had been happy except once I came to college, the price for a hair appointment with Rudy became a little pricey :T.
