I have had a fear about getting a new stylist due to having some really bad haircuts. I was even more nervous to getting bangs for the first time by a new stylist but Ms Lang did an amazing job and walk me through the whole process and told me about my face shape and how they would look and how to the style my bangs. My hair was longish and unkempt. Split ends, always in a messy bun. I was looking for a regular salon that I could trust here in down, and Dushons is less than 10 minutes from my home. I told Frances that I wanted something short, cute, layered and easy to take care of. Something that would look great right out of the shower. Fran is a miracle worker. After another saloon had destroyed my blonde colour, I didn't think that much could be done without all my hair falling out but Fran worked her magic. I left the saloon looking like nothing had happened and my hair looking beautiful. Finally I've found a stylist now that can do my hair. I was able to get an appointment as soon as I needed it. Everyone was very kind as soon as I walked in. I saw other clients looking very happy with their cuts and colors as well which made me even more glad to have found Salon Dushons. My stylist Beverly asked what I wanted to do with my hair and did exactly what I asked for. I have long hair and she cut off the perfect amount to get it looking healthier and gave me the front long layers that I wanted. The conversation was great and Beverly was lovely all around. I went into this salon not knowing anything. The lady that I got name was Beverly. She was a nice lady and I enjoyed everything about the experience ; except i wish she would of done more highlights in my hair. she only did a partial highlight but there was not enough for what i was hoping for. the rest was awsome. the shampoo was out of this world. yes i will go back there again , but i just wish she would of listened a little more carefully. I am hoping to go back and get more highlights ; I have been reading almost all the reviews and some are not so good, so i understand that i'm not the only person feeling like they did not completely listen to my request. all in all the whole visit was refreshing though. read more

Absolute worst experience I've ever had. My hair is completely destroyed and I'm absolutely devastated. I asked Abelina for highlights (not all over color) and provided a few photos of how my hair was previously and what I wanted. (see two photos). I told her I didn't want to go too ashy or too gold and that I understood it might take a couple appointments to get me more blonde in order to keep it healthy. My hair was in great shape. This is what happened. I never knew it was possible to have roots immediately after it was highlighted. The color is hideous. It looks like orange straw. It is not complimentary to my skin tone at all. Sections in the back were completely missed and I was told they were too short to highlight yet shorter hair next to it was highlighted. There is no consistency. There's now a line where my hair was grown out and the new highlights were done. She 'styled' my hair and didn't even dry all the sections. I'm so embarrassed to the point where I need to wear a hat. This is what $180 will get you. Do your research on the staff, Abelina, if you're blonde. The owner Jim was uninviting and, of course, annoyed that I complained. Overall terrible experience and it's going to take several months and a lot of money for someone else to fix this. She made excuses and insinuated this is what I asked for. I asked for my money back; did receive. They wanted to fix it but would you trust them? No. It shouldn't have been like this in the first place. I can't even look in the mirror without crying. read more
