Not only is Edda amazing, the whole team is classy, including a special shampoo/conditioner experience during your hairstyle appointment. It is a calm, massaging experience unlike any others I have experienced before here! By way of background, 2019 was a personally wild ride, resulting in hair loss. I started seeing Edda about a year ago and she has worked a miracle. Some of my hair has regrown, and my head shape is different these days (but you would never know). Edda took me under her wings, and has styled my hair neatly as it grows in, and now, because of the length and shape of my hair, my dent on my head is hidden! She provided tips and tricks on how to handle styling my hair at home, and introduced me to a few useful products to keep my hair full and healthy. I am very sad that I had to miss my last appointment due to the Pandmeic, but Edda is so talented, that my hair has grown out longer and in a beautiful shape. First off, let me say the staff is extremely talented at their craft. I have tightly curled hair, that is also extremely fine - so finding the right person to cut my hair so it is not bushy or triangular is tough. Edda and her team do an amazing job. I've also had my makeup done by Jordan for NYE. I have sensitive skin and I don't wear makeup a lot. I hate a heavy, caked on feel. Even though she gave me a full glamour makeover that got a lot of compliments from my friends - it didn't feel heavy and held up great through a night of dancing. But the reason this salon will forever have a place in my heart is that 4 weeks ago, I broke my wrist. It was diificult to brush out my hair and get rid of the tangles in the back. Edda offered me the chance to come in as often as I like to get my hair washed for just $5. They wash, condition, and brush out the tangles each week with love. I cannot tell you what this has meant to me. Usually you get a salon that has amazing stylists but sometimes can be full of themselves. Salon Edda has both talent and big hearts. Her talent is extraordinary, whenever I show her a picture of a cut or color I like, in a few hours my hair perfectly matches. Her balayage ability is impeccable! This review and rating is for the lady herself, Ms. Edda. She gave me the most fantastic experience and came in a couple hours before opening to accommodate my request for a private cut. Oh- and she did this after I called her only two days in advance. Prompt, polite, and above and beyond service. For any new potential customers reading this- ask and wait for Edda. She takes her trade very seriously and is dedicated to always learning how to improve despite a very decorated and accomplished career. Also, I think the salon offers a discount to new customers which is amazing since they're already so reasonably priced. A few more things: I felt so comfortable expressing my vision for my hair and Edda was such a good listener and paused several times to make sure I was happy with the cut so far. She made perfect suggestions and was very honest while speaking from experience. I didn't feel pressured to buy any products and didn't feel rushed AT ALL. Lastly- well after my appointment I received two handwritten letters from Ms. Edda about 2-3 months apart from each other. So thoughtful and I know I will not find another stylist as personable and invested as her. I've already referred all my sisters (who all wear hijab) and will continue to vouch for her and her salon to anyone who cares to listen. I've now been going to Edda for several years. I wanted to do some daring things like shaving one side of my hair while still maintaining my classy and feminine sides. When she first met me, she understood my desire to balance contradictions and asked me about my lifestyle to understand my capacity for daily styling. With her, I've been able to achieve my unique expression. It just blows my mind that a no-chip pedicure costs $50 at this place!! How can it be that gel color and the gel color application process add $20 to the overall price? That just seems ridiculous to me! Also, they don't really massage your feet or legs. I've been here a few times because the location is convenient for me but I won't be returning. The prices are too steep and they don't care to make you feel comfortable. The lady who did my no-chip pedicure today did not even put lotion on my legs nor did she massage my legs after the salt scrub. I have premature gray hair and it's really hard to cover up but Carly has formulated a dye for me that works great and keeps my scalp calm. I have a scalp that loves to hold onto color after a root touch up and Carly always remembers and spends extra time helping me get the color out as much as possible. Looks like they removed my review which is not surprising. Its been years since this place ruined my hair and traumatized me. Ive been getting my hair done blonde typically balayage for over 8 years now. I came to Edda with pictures and a very clear explanation of what I wanted. I walked out after 3 hours almost with yellow/ red tones in my hair and less blonde than I came in. They tried to convince me it looked good. I was so upset and decided to work with Edda again to give her another chance. Never again. She had me come in and had an assistant put white fat thick product in my hair, "to help the breakage" she said. They wanted me to sit with this stuff which they said is normal in the industry, its not, for 30 min. When i started getting anxious they put me in a back room and left me. After a good 30 min i started washing out the product myself and asking to leave at which point they again tried to tell me that everything is ok. It really wasn't. My hair was ruined its more than 4 years later and I am still trying to fix the damage they did to my hair and the color. Edda wouldn't even admit that she took something on that she shouldn't have and was in way over her head. I was left traumatized. No one should go here for good color. Just do yourself a favor and don't. Oh and Edda don't bother responding to this. You know exactly what you did. You and your unprofessional staff should be ashamed. And your 4 star rating is absolute BS. read more
