I love coming here..although its been a few years since I have done anything new to my hair, I saw their Monday Funday special and thought it would be great to get some blond highlight for summer! I met with Sarah and she was awesome! She really took the time and told me the steps that she was going to do, and let me tell her what I def didn't want (thick chunky blond highlight) we decided on balayage highlights! I couldn't believe how much I loved my hair after seeing it, has been so long since I had done anything to it and felt fantastic! I just moved to Riverside, Il and was looking for a new beauty salon. I was debating between Two in town; one was Salon Elia. I searched the internet for reviews and also the reviews on Yelp ; ) and Salon Elia seemed to be the place for me. I was right! I looked at each one of the stylists information and decided I would go to see Bill, the owner. I wanted a color and eventually a cut. I called for an appointment and the girl on the phone was so nice. When I went for my appointment day I met Bill and he made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I wanted my Strawberry Blond hair color refreshed and I brought photos to show him what I was looking for. Well, he knew exactly what I wanted without the photos and I got a completely natural looking Dark Strawberry Blond; not orange at all and not too Brown. Best hair color I ever had, beautiful and healthy! I remember Bill's name from years ago when he worked in the Chicago beauty show circuit and was a prominent name in the industry, so I knew I was in great hands. It's wonderful to find a true master colorist and stylist that's actually down to earth and as talented as he is nice. I went back a few weeks later and desperately needed a cut; so once again I saw Bill. I was nervous because I have long hair and wanted to keep it that way; Bill was so reassuring and showed me exactly what he would cut before and during. Another great experience at this salon; he cut my hair like a true expert (which he is!), he didn't cut too much, completely even and also explained the method he used. Best haircut ever! He also used a great technique to dry my wavy hair, which I've never seen before and I now replicate at home. My hair is now gorgeous and they have a client for life! Bill is a wonderful kind man, conversations with him are always uplifting and interesting and the Salon is beautiful, very clean and peaceful and during Covid they take great safety precautions. Love this Salon from the moment I walked in!! I actually came to visit this Salon because I was following the very talented Kasia. Kasia had done my hair 2yrs ago at a different salon. I was in a bind and needed to get my hair done ASAP. My girl was booked. Well the rest is history...Kasia had left & I continued to stay with my girl near my job in Schaumburg. I have since left Schaumburg and decided to search fo Kasia again. Thank God I found her. Always great conversation & so professional...not to mention she does AMAZING work. The Salon is decorated tastefully & very welcoming. The staff & the owner Vasili are so very friendly. This salon has a family feel to it. Cute hair salon and everyone was very nice. But we were not happy at all with my daughter's hair. She came in with compromised hair, which means she had box dye which was a soft black. She wanted balayage . That is not what she got. The first hair stylist was very sincere and said she didn't want to damage her hair so she did a test strand. She told her to come back in a couple of months, which she did. She told her she was going to do teasy lights, (not sure if I spelled that right), but that's not what she wanted. So first visit was $170.00. Came back a couple of months another $170.00. Her hair starting to look dry and brassy. Third time the stylist didn't respond to her message, so she asked to see someone else. Well, she did less than the first stylist. That's when I called and spoke to the owner, who was very, very nice. I spoke to him in a civilized manner because he didn't do her hair. Yeah, he refunded her $170.00, but he should have refunded the whole amount. She was taken advantage of just cause she's young. We went for a second opinion at our regular hair stylist and she laughed. She could not believe it. She said they "saw her coming and took her money!" She said she's done lots of black hair into blonde, red, pink and her clients hair never has dried out or broken off. Five days ago my stylist sent me a text and wanted me to come by so I can see with my own eyes her doing balayage on someone with dark brown hair. I was so upset when she was done because it was beautiful. The client even told me that she went from blue/black to platinum one year and it was healthy looking and exactly what she wanted. She showed me pictures on FB on how it looked before and after. She uses a treatment that helps keep hair healthy. Well she did a treatment on my daughter and, "WOW!" the brassy look and feel totally went away. It even lightened her hair. You may wonder why we didn't go to her in the first place. She was away from the salon for 7 months to care for her mom who was ill. My daughter worked so hard to raise money to pay for her hair to be just like the picture she showed the stylist. I would say about $470.00 for 3 appointments. It didn't look a bit like it. I was do disappointed. Will never go back there again. read more

It pains me to write a negative review...especially for a family owned local business. But I literally gave this place 3 different opportunities to correct a botched hair cut... YES 3 TIMES....and they never fixed it and only made it worse each time. The first time I went and got a haircut from a young girl who was new to the profession so I understand her inability to cut my hair...sort of. But I only asked for an inch and a half trim and it was completely uneven and lopsided. So I came back for it to be fixed. I have one of the owners look at it and he agrees it is uneven and lopsided so he proceeds to "fix" it and I think yay, thank goodness. WRONG...it was still uneven and lopsided...longer on my right side and shorter on my left. So I go back a 3rd time and have the other senior owner "fix" my hair after he affirms that it is indeed onger on the right side than the left. In the middle of him "fixing"my hair he tells me ver batim " I will not be able to get this perfect but I will do my best". Are you KIDDING ME? Do you go to the hair salon to get a pretty good hair cut or one that is perfect??!!! I could do a so so hair cut on myself and save myself the money and hassle of 3 trips to a salon for a 1 inch trim. With all of the trips and fixes they chopped off at least 4 inches of hair trying to correct their mistakes. And now it is longer on the left side and shorter on the right side...WTF?! He did refund my money....but BEWARE of getting a hair cut here...if you want an even and symmetrical cut you might want to go else where because here they only promise to do a so so job. Sarah is my hero!!! I have found my salon for life!!! The staff here is amazing. They truly know their stuff! I had a terrible outcome at another salon, my hair was suppose to be dyed balayage which is a natural looking color, brown with some blonde highlights. What I got was an overall blonde brassy, just ugly hair color. It was terrible especially since I have bangs. If you've ever seen Madtv I looked like Stewart. Not ideal to say the least. I sported a hat and hair band for 2 weeks. I came in to this amazing salon to get a color correction and wow let me tell you Sarah knows her stuff!! She is truly amazing and such a sweetheart!! The owner was so helpful and it made me very happy that she consulted with him as well. She seriously saved the day. I can finally wear my hair down!! I can't wait to go back to her for a haircut!! Went in for my appointment and the stylist washed then sat me at her station. She then proceeded to talk to her sister, whose station is right next to us for 5 minutes, while I just sat. Okay, maybe she hasn't seen her sister in a few days?? Another stylist had her 4-5 yr old son at the establishment, he liked to climb. What took me most by surprise was when a customer walked in who was 1-1/2 hours LATE for her appointment, my stylist said she would be right back. She sat the customer who was LATE and did her brows while I sat and waited! 15 minutes later she returned and complained about how that customer is always late. This was so unprofessional and inconsiderate! Between all the family members, a child running around and dumping a customer for a very late customer, I will never return. I won a certificate for a free color, cut and style at this salon. I figured I'd check it as I was a little over my Oak Park salon and was badly in need of some hair TLC. I went in with visions of Carmel toned balyage in my almost black and over dyed hair. Bill - the owner- and Tyler sat me down for a consult and informed me that there was no way my color and current hair condition could really take a lifting process. They walked me thru the idea of color correction first....and then gradually taking the steps to lighten and highlight after my hair got a bit more healthy. I was disappointed -at first. But Bill explained that the best way to combat my current hair issues and get to my ideal 'hair vision" was to follow along. They walked me through what to expect and then Tyler and I came up with a long term game plan. What happened is that I got one of the best hair cuts I've had in the last 10 years and a gorgeous and rich dark color that broke up the opaque blocking blockiness of my current -put of the box- color. I must say I am thrilled and Tyler has a new client. I highly recommend Salon Elia- the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable and love what they do. read more

I had my bridal hair and makeup with Kelly T. and all my bridesmaids/mom/aunt hair and makeup done here. She was amazing! She did a great job and was very friendly and personable. Price for bridal hair and makeup was very reusable and included lashes (although trial is extra and pricy). My hair looked beautiful and I had lots of compliments on that and my makeup! She also did a few of my bridal party and they all looked great. Two other girls and one other man did the rest of the bridal party hair and makeup. They also did a great job but weren't as timely as Kelly. read more
