I HAVE A BALD SPOT IN MY HAIR FROM TRAVIS. DO NOT BOOK WITH HIM! I booked an appointment for a sew in. The entire time I am there he is upset and handling my hair very rough. He washes my hair rushed, conditioned my hair for 10 seconds and immediately rinses it out. I eventually tell him that he is handling my hair very rough and ask to just give me a blow out so I can leave. He says sorry, he's just upset about other things and he wants me to get the style I came in wanting. So against by better judgement I stay. Then he braids my hair way too tight. And I told him to loosen up the braiding, but it was still unbearably tight. Now, I am taking the style out and I have a bald spot on my scalp with a scab from where my hair was ripped out. Please do not to to this stylist. Even before I noticed the bald spot, I told myself I wasn't coming back to this salon because of how rough and angry seeming he was. I'm so mad at you in advance, and I'm dying inside that this woman's talents are unmatched in Harlem so if you take up my appointment opportunities, I will be screwed. Stepping in here was like walking into hair care rehab. My hair follows Dominique's commands like I don't even exist (Especially, after a hot humid summer full of beach and pool swimming). She can braid, twist, cut and style and color and nurture natural hair and much more...I have seen her create amazing hair colors and she is up to date with the latest styles and trends. I've been going to Dominique for almost 3 years and 5 stars is not even enough. I was so happy when she informed me that she was opening her own salon. I am totally natural now but when I first began that was not the case. She gradually cut my hair little by little until all the relaxer was completely gone. Dominique is amazing. She completely transformed my hair after searching hard and wide for the past 23 years. My natural hair is very thick and curly-it can look good but it's very hard to manage when it's dry all the time. Not only does she do an amazing wash and press that lasts up to 2 weeks, but my hair is so much more moisturized that it also now looks great when I leave it natural.
