Erin over toned the extensions that were put in my hair and the extensions turned a pinkish purple color. She said she could only take these out and try again. I spent two entire afternoons there and I was still not happy with the result. It is very costly and time consuming and to not get the result they promised , I was not happy. I don't even know how to start this review. I have been searching for a curly hair expert to get my haircut for at least four years. I won't go into the long search , I'll just say two years ago when the whole Covid thing started I was on a waiting list and had been on one for over a year to get my haircut in Cali, then in Vegas. I live in California. The people with the highest ratings here were not taking any new clients, so I thought well I travel, let me find somebody in one of the cities I go to. I waited for over a year and then the gal from Las Vegas that had the level three certification stopped taking new clients. Having lived in Kansas City for a long time, I do go back quite often. I did some research read the reviews on both Google and yelp and settled on salon halo. It took about two months before I can get my schedule to work with theirs. I was not disappointed. Really enjoyed my experience here with the Diva Curl treatment. My hair hadn't been cut in almost two years, my hair was very dry and damaged. My hair is super curly but with all the damage and weight it pulled my curls into tangled ratty waves. First time coming here after looking at all the reviews. My appointment turns out was with a woman named Amy. Super amazing time with her, talked about my hair and made sure it was what I wanted, she had to cut almost 10" off from the back but it was due to the fact that it was split end city. My curls are back and bouncier than ever. She helped me buy products that worked best for my hair texture. The place was very well lit, clean, and the ladies were all very nice. I've been going to this salon for curly hair cuts along with blond highlighting since August 2021. I moved here from Illinois and have been under so much stress and having Katie Hamlin as my hair stylist and colorist has been such a blessing! This is the best hair salon I have ever experienced. I accidentally stumbled on this salon in my neighborhood and it was an incredibly lucky find. I like the stylist Amy. I have had several appointments with her and each time I leave her chair much happier than I was when I came in. I recently made the mistake of going to a different salon for a trim where my hair was completely butchered. I came back to Halo to see Amy Pering and by the end of my visit I was actually pleased at my reflection. Amy was not only able to masque the hideous damage I had on my head by giving me a cute cut, she also upgraded the color of my hair that suits the style very well. Amy is incredibly knowledgeable on all things hair related. She fixed my ugly uneven hair cut to look like a cute stylish short pixie cut that actually looks intentional now. She also helped transition my dark brown hair into a level 9 blonde. This woman is truly a master at her craft. I will never find another stylist with such a broad skillset of hair cutting, tinting , and styling. She is also incredibly friendly and I greatly enjoy our conversations. I was in from out of town and specifically looking for a Deva Curl salon. I was trying to grow out my hair color that had a few areas of gray. I wanted to keep them and it is a tricky thing to do. The return of their phone calls was not the best but once that was out of the way, I had the best cut and color I have had in years. Ginger only cut a very small amount but it transformed my hair. Súper terrible service it was my moms birthday and Amy completely made it terrible! She was late, super mean to us and definitely did not wanted to give us her service! She kept putting "buts" on everything we asked for. We ended up leaving with just a haircut which she cut so much hair out of my mom, without asking! She told us that her hair was terribly damage which I promise it isn't. She barely wanted to touch her hair. She talked to us like if we were nothing, it was just the worst experience ever! I am never coming back to this place again and I hope Abby learns to be professional and nice to her costumers. ASHLEY BOTCHED MY HAIR. *SEE PICS**If I could give this salon zero stars.. I would. I went in for a routine bayalage treatment, cool blonde, solid color on the bottom. Been getting this since I was 12. I was recommended this salon from a dear friend of mine and was 100% trustworthy of them. Unfortunately was I wrong. Not even 4 hours after I left the salon I noticed the orange. ORANGE underneath my hair. I messaged Ashley (the one who did it) immediately saying it looked like daphanie from Scooby-Doo orange. I tried to be so so nice and understanding (at first). She said we could fix it. It wasnt until the next day after I washed and dried (have never had a problem before washing the next day) that I noticed the red was all through out the hair, and how blotchy and streaky the color was. My hair has never EVER turned this color w a bayalage before. I was fed up. I am now scared to have Ashley re-do it because of how bad it came out the first time, and when I asked for a refund I was denied. Why would I want the same person who botched my hair to "fix it" ? The most ethical thing to do would be to give me my money back and she held on to that $280 for dear life. I paid $280 for a horrible color job. I was horrified. I've been putting it up for days out of embarrassment. I'm having it color corrected at a different salon - and the artist I'm working with now said she has never seen a color job so bad. Like most places you really don't know what you've gotten yourself into until something goes wrong. When this happened my stylist TIFFANY FRANKLIN the salon OWNER gave me the worst experience of my salon life. Here's what happened 1 - I came in with brand new extensions 2 - I had only two appointments with her 3 - these appointments were for very simple work : maintenance (they take out the extension and replace them over the grow out) & partial color (root touch up). 4 - when she took out the extensions she used rubbing alcohol (which did not work) and proceeded to rip them out. It sounded like Velcro and I was in extreme pain. Since this was my first maintenance EVER I had no idea how the removal process was supposed to go. She assured me of her credentials and that this was perfectly normal when I asked her about the pain and that my head was always sore after & since it was the back of my head I couldn't exactly tell what was happening. After all don't you trust a pro to know their job? 5 - she put bleach over the brand new extension bonds and ruined them in just two visits. 6- on my second visit I was in so much pain that i decided to go to a different salon to have the extensions removed GUESS WHAT it was PAIN FREE And I could then see my hair without the extensions had rip lines! 7 - when I contacted her via text she became aggressive and defensive - said I had never reported any pain or she would have stopped immediately as if I made up the whole thing and refused to reimburse me for anything or even offer an apology. I understand we all make mistakes but you would think a business owner and stylist would care enough to act like an adult instead of the very childish behavior I had to deal with. read more

I would rather go to Fantastic Sam's than ever see the unreliable, undependable Ginger at Salon Halo ever again. You show up even for an early appointment and she double books with someone else going back and forth between customers taking much longer than it ever should for any appointment, and will even call you on the day of your appointment when your first in line, and ask you to show later than the appointment time and then she will show up late for the rescheduled time. Customer service is not a strong suit of Salon Halo because they feel their customer base is locked on and they don't care if customers come and go because there will always be more. read more

I was due for a manicure right before summer ended. I absolutely loved the results. The salon was very unique. Every little detail added more character to the salon. My manicurist had me sit by a bar and on a stool. The bar reminded me of a taproom with bottles of nail polish decorating the back wall. The lady even offered me a cup of water to make the experience more complete. We had great conversation. She had a really soft touch ans very warm hands. I loved the variety of colors that were available for me to choose from. The best part was the polish stayed on for a while. I didnt have to worry about getting my nails done for several weeks afterwards. Next time, I should probably make an appointment. The salon is nice and it was my first time in the salon for the deva cut. My stylist Ginger, was a great stylist really knowledgeable about my texture style, which is kinky, coil hair and Ginger gave it a nice shape. I just didn't like the other stylist when I walked in were a bit rude and not very welcoming. Even though I wasn't there to see them they were very snobby. I'm giving this salon a bump in rating due to the clean, nice atmosphere and the pleasant interaction I had with my stylist. I visited here twice for haircuts and was expecting to be more wowed with my results after what I paid. My feeling is if you think your skills with a pair of shears are worth $50, I should expect to walk out looking like I was in an expert hairstylist's chair. The 2nd visit it was apparent that dealing with a shorter hair style was not the strong suit of my stylist and I'd prefer to have been told before the damage was done. Know your limits, I'd respect the honesty. I'm in the process of growing out the weird, nonsensical layers to get back to some semblance of a style I actually want. Michelle ruined my hair, lied to me, and ripped me off over the course of 4 months. My hair is falling out. I spent more than I'm willing to admit, and I'm appalled at the state of my hair right now. She used photos of my hair without my knowledge or consent on social media. I have 3 inch chunks of hair because of all of the breakage. She refuses to reimburse me for the overpriced services that caused damage. Ladies, there are other salons with more experienced, honest stylists. I will be seeking out one of them to correct this disaster, in addition to taking action against her and the salon. I gave Michelle and the salon the opportunity to provide good customer service. The lack of experience and professionalism from both stylist and owner are evident. I've good reviews for good stylists. Apparently the owner worked at a previous place I experienced bad service. Please don't go to this salon. On my first appointment I called them to let them know that I was on my way but may be late due an accident on the interstate. I arrived late and did not receive any services. When I arrived home I saw a charge for a "Blow out"; take note I received no services. The charge was supposedly for a no show, which by the way is not a legally enforceable charge hence they charge for a service which you did but receive. Secondly, I not only called but also arrived at the appointment and no understanding it attempt to verify that an accident actually occurred at the the time I called. Most no show policy account for circumstances being your control but not this one. read more

Last Friday I went here and Tiffany did my hair. I got a Deva cut and high/lowlights. I told her I wanted to do something different but wasn't really sure what. She suggested doing red lowlights with my blond highlights. I've always wanted to have red but never really brave enough to do so. She's the first stylist who suggested something other than blond and boy am I happy she did. I love it and feel kinda sassy now. She also gave me tips on how to condition my hair and what I need to do to keep the red longer. I've been getting Deva Cuts for several years and no one told me what she did about conditioning. I found Michelle on one the FB swap and shop sites. I will admit I was a little hesitant to try a hair dresser that advertised on FB and that I didn't have any personal references to ask. I reached out to her and she was very quick to respond and accommodate me. I read lots of positive reviews on her work and 1 really negative review that did not concern me at all. Upon arrival to the salon I was greeted by Tiffany who was a sweetheart, quickly after Michelle came out and greeted me as well. The salon is super cute and charming. Their atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I loved it. I sat with Michelle showed her ideas of pictures for my balayage and for my cut. I expressed my concerns of keeping a hair cut that was easy to maintain and she very helpful and unlike most hair dressers she provided me with feedback and ideas. I loved that.. She didn't just do what I wanted. She suggested what might look better. Once we decided on a plan I was offered a nice glass of wine and started the whole process.... She did a dry cut, then worked on my color and once we my color was done we moved forward with a true cut to shape and finalize my look. I loved the balayage she did she stuck with my warm tones that I wanted and my cut was amazing. When she was styling my hair she even took time to teach me not just tell me but teach me how to style it the way I wanted. Overall the experience was great. The hair cut, color and products I will admit were pricey (even considering the discount she gives first time clients) BUT you get what you pay for. So it really didn't hurt me that much.
