I was visiting San Diego and really needed to have my hair colored and cut. I've spent enough $ on my hair over the years to send it to college! Straightening, color, foils, cuts etc. I've never had anyone see the potential of my hair, color and cut as well as Rafi did. I knew the color and highlights were washing me out. But I didn't know how to make them better. I've been seeing the same colorist for 12+ years and just felt stuck! Rafi was booked until the end of May and I was only in SD until 3/25. He came in on his day off to accommodate me. He took the time to show me what I knew. My hair was very damaged and the color was brassy and washing me out. But unlike other stylists he actually solved the problems. He colored and highlighted my hair so it was a dark blonde with subtle highlights. He cut my hair so the layers blended together and the style brought everything together. He then conditioned my hair so it looked healthy again. My only complaint is he lives in San Diego and I live in Florida. I might just tell my husband I have to go out for milk and come home two days later after flown to have my hair done by Rafi. Been Rafi's client for 1.5 years. He opened his own salon- he is driven and works hard. He loves cars and knows a lot about the world- and he remembers the stories you tell him. Good person, great heart. I have very fine hair and he is the one one who could manage to help me deal with it, grow it out longer, and cut and style it. He never overheated or damaged it. He suggests new styles that he thinks would look good on you, but he carefully styles it just how you ask him to. My purple hair with pink highlights are no more, thanks to Rafi's amazing work! I'm a red-headed, mature (50+) woman with no desire for purple/pink hair! The morning after my disastrous hair coloring session at my (now former) hair salon, I spotted all the great reviews for Rafi's color restoration work (and ALL his work on yelp). I called first thing that morning and Rafi took me in that very day for a consult. He gave me an honest opinion of what he could do, how long it would take, etc. (even gave me special shampoo to get the process started) and so I booked my appointment. Fast forward to now - my hair color is fantastic! Rafi worked approx. four hours removing the wrong color while protecting the already over-bleached pink highlights from more damage. Booked an appointment with Maryam Saco and she texted me 20 days before my appointment asking me if I still want the appointment because apparently she has someone wants that time. Explained to her that I do want it since I have a party that day, however I explained to her that my babysitter did let me know the night before she might not be able to show up at that time to watch my baby because she had something to do with her family and would confirm with me within two days (understandable things do change when you have a family). Maryam texted me back at 11pm asking if should cancel it (I guess too hard to wait couple of days) which would still had given me enough time to cancel my appointment (18 days before the event is enough time to cancel I believe in case things didn't go the right way) I guess that's what happens when you try to be considerate of others and work things around way in advance :) read more
