I have two words for those of you that are looking for a Hair Stylist in Ventura County.....Debi Breiter. She is by far, the most skilled hair stylist I have ever been to. When I moved into the area, I spent months looking for just the right place to go get my hair cut and colored. After much consideration, I stopped by Salon Rouge and was actually met in the front by Debi. I told her what I was looking for and she took me back to her station and we had a 20 minute consultation. About 5 minutes into the conversation, I knew I would be going to her for all my hair needs! Not only did she sound like a professional who knew her craft, but most importantly, she listened to me! I left the salon, but not without first making my appointment for the following week. The actual day couldn't come fast enough. When I arrived at the salon, again, Debi took some time to find out exactly what I was looking for and proceeded to cut and color my hair. One of the nicest things about the entire experience was that unlike most of my past hair stylsts, she concentrated on me.....and what she was doing! She wasn't talking on her phone or to the neighboring stylists. I felt important! I left with hair that was sleek and stylish. I was speechless. So, was my Husband. Veronica Nettleton This is long overdue for me to post, but Veronica Nettleton is the BEST stylist, no wait, FRIEND at this Salon. I have been going to her for almost 3 years at a recommendation from a co-worker. She listens to what I have wanted and helped see the picture I wanted for my hair. I have gone from light to dark and vice versa and each time the end result is amazing. I never have to call and confirm my appointments, even when made weeks in advance. I have been taken at the last minute because I have gotten a wild hair and wanted a change. I have been taking my mom to see her for about a year and a half, and the best compliment to Veronica is that she keeps coming back! My mom will give a new person one try and if she isn't happy she will not waste her time and money to keep going. Veronica stands by her work and will make sure it is perfect, even if she has to do it a second time to make sure you are happy! It was natural to pick Veronica to do my hair AND make up for my most special day, my wedding. She came to our hotel and did my hair, my mom's hair, and my sister's hair, and 3 sets of makeup. I'd like to nominate Jessica Johson hairdresser of the decade!! I was referred to Jessica 9 years ago. My hair is my best asset and until I met Jessica, stylists mangled my hair, recommended horrible products for me to use and ruined my color. Jessica ensures that my hair always looks fantastic and that I use the right products to keep it looking great!! I can't tell you how many people over the past 9 years have told me my hair is beautiful since I've been her client! Total strangers just walk up to ask me where I have it styled. Jessica has also become familiar with my personality so when I come to her and I want to change things up for a season, she knows exactly how to achieve a great style or color for me, so my hair is always looking it's best without making me into someone I'm not. With life being so crazy busy sometimes, one thing I don't have to worry about is remembering to get my hair done. After a series of frustrating and expensive hair disasters I was so relieved to find Kristen Thompson!!!! She is fabulous and provides professional, quality services without the attitude I've experienced at other salons. Kristen saved my hair, she confidently but respectfully took control of the situation which was what I needed. She really LISTENS, and cared enough to even ask me how I usually style my hair which I have never experienced. I feel so good about my hair thanks to Kristen's skill, confidence, and enthusiasm for what she does. I also didn't feel awkward at all discussing my budget with her, she was more than willing to work with me to stay within my price range without making me feel guilty. I highly recommend Kristen T. if you are looking for someone who absolutely knows what they're doing, has reasonable rates, and is great to spend time with. PAIGE BJELKE is my go-to girl when it comes to my precious locks! I moved to the Thousand Oaks area about 3 years ago and I needed to find a new stylist. A friend of mine suggested to go to Salon Rouge and when I asked for a recommendation, they recommended Paige and she's AMAZING! I have thick, long Asian hair and many people are afraid to cut in and personalize. Paige is not afraid! She gets in there and styles my hair. She also has done a beautiful ombré and does the coloring perfect (my hair is stubborn when it comes to coloring, but she's able to breakthrough it). What I love about Paige is that she knows me and how my hair behaves. She makes suggestions and I always tell her to go for it. I just let her do her magic. So she's good at understanding the person which helps her form the look to make you feel beautiful. Thanks to a dear friend, I was matched up with one of the TOP stylists in the industry: Jessica Johnson. And trust me, I've been trying out plenty.. As a model, my hair is an important asset, so I can't afford to let anyone but the best be in charge of its health, look and style (and when you're constantly changing the color and max out on damaging styling tricks, we all know that that's like chasing the rainbow..). OMG! Go See Laurie Mower! She does a FANTASTIC job on my hair! I've gone to Laurie for over 10 years and she's great with cut, color and styling! Laurie always knows how to cut and style my hair so it's the most flattering! I also love getting my hair colored by Laurie because she really knows what color looks good on you annd will enhance your face! I get compliments all the time with my cut and color! I've also gotten Keratin treatments from her that I love as my hair has a silky shine with lots of body! JESSICA JOHNSON has been my hair stylist for over ten years. Over the years, she has cut, colored and styled my hair in so many different ways. She has cut my hair when it was only an inch short to when it was so long that it touched my bottom. We have always experimented in so many shades of red and we all know hard it is to work with red. Its 7am on a Saturday morning, I'm barely awake but I'm up and at my favorite salon - Salon Rouge with my amazing stylist Veronica Nettleton! What other stylist can you text at 3pm on a Friday and get in the next morning at 7am? I was so desperate I was wearing my short hair in a ponytail - not a good look. I've been coming to Veronica for about a year and I have never had as many compliments on my cut and color everywhere I go. Not only is Veronica absolutely FAB at cutting hair and painting on brilliant color (she does highlights and allover color for me) but she is also caring, sweet, and fun to be around while you have tin foil in your hair! So I just visited salon Rouge for my first time yesterday to get my hair done by Syreeta Chase, and i cannot put into words how happy I am with the result. I have extremely curly wild frizzy hair, and most ppl who do my hair get frustrated and impatient because there is so much hair. Syreeta on the other hand was so patient and thorough . She completly changed my look from washed out blond to a beautiful brown with wine colored peakaboo highlights along with some blond. She finished my hair off with a conditioning treatment and made it so straight and smooth, and cut if perfectly. My hair has never been so sleek and smoth, and the color is so shiny and vibrant I love it. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair. I cant thank her enough I am so happy :)! I have been going to Michele G. for over 2 years now, and I would not ever let anyone else touch my hair. She does wonderful, amazing work. Cuts & colors, and of course her specialty Great Lengths Hair Extensions. I originally went to her to get my hair extension's done for my upcoming wedding. Jessica Johnson at Salon Rouge is an amazing stylist. After years of hearing about the wonders that Jessica had worked on so many of my friends, I had to give it a shot. Before my first cut she fully examined my hair, inquired about the various ways I wear it, and made sure that she understood the texture. I have loads of corse, wavy hair that can so easily look choppy instead of smoothly layered when I straighten or blow it out- I never have that concern with Jessica. She is super accommodating to busy schedules and incredibly expedient. I used to spend three or more hours for highlights and a cut- Jessica works her magic in far, far less time. She is an impeccable colorist and the technique she uses to weave makes growth unnoticeable. I have been going to see Michelle Brucato to get my hair cut, and eventually colored, for about 15 years and counting. She is THE BEST hair stylist and I always leave feeling like a billion dollars, and because of this I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair. Recently I shared with Michelle how I missed my natural blonde highlights I had as a kid, and she recommended putting some subtle blonde highlights in to see what i thought. I have long and thick hair and have always had problems being happy when I go to hair stylist to do my hair. I would always leave being halfway unhappy. I heard about Syreeta Chase and decided to give her a try as I was in the process of deciding to get a blow out. Syreeta took a good look at my hair and said that I really do not need a blow out. I went to Veronica Nettleton to get the Brazilian blowout and let me tell you, it was worth it. Not only did she literally transform my hair, it feels like it did when I was a teenager and it shines and looks amazing. I couldn't rate Veronica any higher in terms of the color, the free cut with the treatment, the attention and precision with which she works.
