I went here for a pedicure and I'm happy with the result. My friend recommended I go as her manicures from Salon Today last 2 weeks while pedicures last 4 weeks! I just returned from vacation where I walked verywhere, so my feet needed some attention. For the "callous removal" treatment, I did the spa package which ended up being $60, including tip. This is definitely the most I've spent on a pedicure ever in NYC. The woman who attended me did a good enough job removing the dry skin; I'll do the rest at home with my handy Ped-Egg (love that thing). She also gave me a quick leg/feet massage, which was lovely. The decor is beautiful and well kept. I loved that their space seems spacious and has plants scattered throughout. The overall treatment was very relaxing and not painful at all. The location is super convenient as I work in Midtown, so I can go right after work.

These nails were done this morning. Already chipped. The middle finger was like that when Ieft.

Ive been coming to this place for a while, because although it is pricey it is clean and very convenient to my work. Also, basically every nail place in this city has some fatal flaw. Perhaps it's the fact that doing your nails is a cheap beauty treatment as comparable to others that makes nail places so expendable and their quality so subpar. Buuuuut not great customer service and they tend to overcharge.

Massage chairs and pedicure stations beyond.

Today was my first time visiting this salon because I really needed a manicure (and it looks like garbage if I do dark colors myself) I was headed to Bloomie Nails (see my previous review) but then stopped in front of this place which I always assumed was a hair salon. Well it's a lovely, spacious and clean nail salon that does waxing and hair upstairs. Your basic mani will run you $13 and mine looks great! I won't be coming here for a gel, as they are $49!!! ( I'll go to my of stand-by Lilac Nails for that) Because I was feeling stressed out I opted for the 20 min massage while my nails were in the dryer ($25 - whaaaat??) I feel like I could have had the same feeling if I had gone to a tennis court and stood in front of one of those ball launchers, i.e. A little rough. Needless to say my nails look divine and I didn't trip over someone as always happens at Bloomies. Bonus points for real foliage at the drying station.

Beautiful salon, spotlighting and plenty of greenery. Very clean and quiet...looks promising!

WOW. After my last visit to Salon Today didn't go so well, I was invited back by the owner to give their gel French mani and standard pedi another try...and boy am I glad that I did. The service was impeccable - the nail technician who took care of my treatments was named Jenny, and I can't recommend her highly enough. She had remembered all the issues I mentioned in my first Yelp review and instigated a short consultation at the beginning of both the mani and pedi to discuss with me the thoughtful ideas she had come up with to avoid the same problems. Amazing! The mani and pedi were both AWESOME. Really enjoyable relaxing experience, and the final results really are very good (see pictures). Thank you again to the owner for their invite, and Jenny for an amazing experience

Not a good job when first layer is showing underneath the second one

Manicurist wasn't going to cut my cuticle until I looked at my nails and then she asked if I'd like it cut. They didn't use any hot towels which I usually love so much but who knows maybe it makes skin dry. She didn't do the best job painting my nails and I can clearly see first layer showing underneath the first one. Bottom line - this salon is clean and nice looking but it's the same service you get in any cheap ( sometimes even cheaper than they offer) place.

Uneven manicure, no hand or foot massage during service, and was harassed on my way out to tip more on top of what I already tipped.

Do they do powder manicures and how much?

This salon completely ripped me off. So just beware you don't get scammed the way I did. I went in for a $50 manicure (which is what they said they charged when I called ahead on the phone) but they charged me $179. They even wouldn't let me leave…

I paid $480 for my appointment and left with hair that looked patchy and not like what we had discussed. While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

Updating my review: I used to come here because the haircuts were strong, but over time the…read moreexperience deteriorated significantly. Appointments became rushed, started late, and lacked even basic professionalism. You're barely greeted when you walk in, and the overall tone makes it feel like you're inconveniencing them just by being there. I told them multiple times I had a head injury from a concussion and the lack of care was very concerning how abrasively they washed and handled my head. My most recent appointment was a complete failure. I asked for a warm, golden brown and came prepared with multiple reference photos. While the color was processing, I clearly flagged that it was pulling purple. That concern was dismissed, and the product was left on longer. The result was the darkest my hair has ever been, almost black with a cool, purple hue. The exact opposite of what I requested. The color job is all mismatched, the lower part of my hair significantly darker, the roots are sloppy and uneven. When I pointed this out, the response was defensive and dismissive. At one point, I was sarcastically asked if I wanted to "bleach it," which is an inappropriate and careless suggestion for already fine hair. It was mind blowing to have this handled so poorly and then be rushed through a cut that does not look anywhere close to the quality of the past cuts. I followed up requesting a refund, given that this will take months to correct and fade, and received no response for over 48 hours. It's not even about the money - it's about the severe lack of respect. What's most surprising is that this level of defensiveness and lack of accountability was unacceptable, especially after such a grave mistake. Instead of thoughtful adjustment and ownership, the response was dismissive in the moment and silent afterward. Mistakes happen. How they're handled is what defines a business. This was not handled well. NYC has no shortage of salons that can deliver both technical skill and professionalism. This is not one of them. Updating this with a pic and additional NYC HAIR SALON SEO terms so future customers are warned since the salon has decided to block me after no satisfactory resolution. The pic at the top right was me pre-hair f*** up. Only come to this salon if you'd like to come home and cry.

This was their "best advice for me" and that I should come back and get both together. I only needed a haircut and this was the only chance I got (I am a SAHM with 2 kids and minimal backup except this day) so I said I would consider it but I need a cut now. It was 6 months since my last. That must have just not been the right thing to say bc I was judged, insulted during the entire session and I got the worst haircut of my life. I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I could have done it myself.

I haven't cut my hair in 6 months and I have really long straight natural hair so you can say it is a blank canvas. This is probably one of the worst haircut I have gotten in years compared to other places that are in different price ranges. Leaving the salon it looked good styled but when I went home to wash it and had more time to look without it curled I saw really choppy layers and the length is much shorter than i wanted. For a cut I paid $107-110 not including tips and expected a decent cut for that amount. Truly disappointing as holidays are coming up and I have been wearing a hat to cover up, cannot wait for this to grow out but will take months. Ara was really sweet and nice but I don't think the skills were there.

He's definitely a professional and knows what he's doing especially when it comes to dying/bleach/toning and cutting short Asian hair to fit my face shape. I asked for ash brown (which I usually get) but I got a way lighter color than expected and the bleach (he went over the bleach twice) really damaged my hair. On top of that, they charged me for a haircut I never asked for. During the balayage, the stylist cut/thinned (no idea what he did because he never asked me) some of my hair (maybe 10 "snips"?) and they later charged me an additional $70 for the "haircut." This really pissed me off because in the middle of my appointment, I even heard an assistant ask in Mandarin "is she getting a haircut?" and the stylist shook his head. I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

What sets Charles apart is how much he genuinely cares about the health of your hair. It's so hard to find a stylist who prioritizes maintaining healthy hair over trying to sell you additional services. Before finding Charles, I saw several different hairstylists throughout the city, but none of them cared about the long-term health of my hair the way he does. I've been coloring my hair for years, so I definitely don't have the healthiest hair to begin with. Charles understands my hair, knows exactly how it processes, and never rushes the coloring process. He takes his time with every step to make sure my hair stays healthy while still achieving the results I want. Over the years, he's earned my complete trust.
